Abstract

Perineal rupture is a laseration or wound that develops along the perineum during the delivery process, which can occur accidentally or intentionally. (episiotomi). Perineum wounds resulting in childbirth can potentially cause infection because the germs enter through the seams. Kunyit works in several stages to speed up wound healing. Curcuma domestica Val contains curcumin compounds that can accelerate re-epithelisation, cell proliferation, and collagen synthesis. (Wientarsih et al, 2012). Java acid works as an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antioxidant activity. The aim is to analyze the effect of acid turmeric on the healing of perineal wounds in postpartum mothers. The method used in this study is the type of pre-experiment with design intact-group comparison. The study used variables with two groups, including the experimental group and the control group. The sample totaled 32 mothers with a perineal injury. The results of the study were that the average wound healing control group got 3-5 REEDA scores of 8 people with presentations (50%) and the experimental group got 0-2 REEDE scors of 14 people with presentation (87,5%). The Mann-Whitney Statistical Test was conducted by Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) / p.value is worth 0,000. Because the value is 0,000 of 0.05, it means there is an effect of acid curcumin on the healing of perineal wounds.

Abstract

Background:  Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is a chronic condition that specifically affects the central retina and is widespread in developed nations. The hypothesis suggests that as the population ages, the occurrence and impact of AMD will rise due to the significant risk factor of being over 55 years old, which is most prevalent among the elderly. Bevacizumab, ranibizumab, and aflibercept have established themselves as the gold standard of therapy. Case Report:  We present the case of a middle-aged man with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and no concomitant diseases who showed remarkable improvement after intravitreal injection with patizra (ranibizumab). A 44-year-old Asian man was administered Patizra injections for three consecutive months after developing age-related macular degeneration. After intravitreal injection of ranibizumab, this patient's health markedly improved, as seen by a reduction in subretinal fluid. Conclusion:  The intravitreal injection of ranibizumab has demonstrated efficacy in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration in middle-aged adults.

Abstract

Vitamin D is a potent steroid hormone precursor that regulates a broad spectrum of physiological processes in the body. Besides its general role in bone metabolism, vitamin D plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of many diseases such as cancer. The aim of this literature review is to examine in more depth the role of vitamin D as an anticancer. There are studies that reveal biological mechanisms mediated by vitamin D in regulating cancer cells, such as cell renewal, cell proliferation, cell differentiation, cell transformation, and cell death. Other studies have also revealed a link between the immune system and the anti-neoplastic effects of vitamin D. Research shows that low levels of vitamin D in circulation are associated with an increased risk of cancer. The use of supplementation alone or in combination with immunotherapy or other chemotherapy may promote better clinical outcomes. These promising results still require further development and research through novel approaches targeting vitamin D signaling and metabolic systems to improve cancer therapeutic outcomes.
