Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of human resources (teachers) in implementing deep learning at SD Negeri 005 Sangasanga. Deep learning is a key component of the Merdeka Curriculum, emphasizing the development of critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that teachers possess several strengths that support the implementation of deep learning, including strong commitment to curriculum change, high motivation, extensive teaching experience, adequate basic pedagogical skills, and openness to new instructional approaches. However, the study also identifies several significant weaknesses, such as limited digital literacy, difficulties in designing inquiry- and project-based learning, insufficient application of authentic assessment, limited creativity in developing exploratory learning activities, and heavy administrative workloads. The conceptual model of findings indicates that the success of deep learning implementation is shaped by the interaction between teachers’ strengths and weaknesses. These results highlight the need for more targeted professional development programs and stronger institutional support to ensure the effective and sustainable implementation of deep learning practices.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of gamification-based formative assessment, specifically using Quizizz and Crossword Puzzles (TTS), on student learning outcomes in economics, focusing on the material concerning the division and scope of economics. While previous research confirmed the benefits of game-based assessments in enhancing motivation and learning, a direct comparative study between Quizizz and TTS was rare, especially on this fundamental economic topic. Employing a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental Design, the study used Purposive Sampling to select two groups of 36 students each at UPT SMAN 13 Sinjai: one group treated with Quizizz and the other with TTSData analysis using JASP involved the Independent Samples t-test on post-test score. The descriptive analysis showed that the TTS group achieved a significantly higher average score (x=82.92) compared to the Quizizz group (x =72.11). The Independent Samples t-test confirmed a statistically significant difference (p < 0.001) in learning outcomes, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. The conclusion highlights that the Crossword Puzzle (TTS) method is substantially more effective due to its ability to encourage deeper cognitive processing, active elaborative encoding, and a more stress-free, engaging learning environment, leading to stronger long-term memory retention than the quick-response nature of Quizizz

Abstract

The use of social media among adolescents is increasing and has the potential to affect mental health. Junior high school students are a group that is vulnerable to emotional, behavioral, and social relationship disorders due to high digital exposure. The main problems in this study are the high intensity of social media use among students at SMP Negeri 6 Kota Jambi and the high proportion of abnormal mental health. This study aims to determine the relationship between social media use and mental health among adolescents at SMP Negeri 6 Kota Jambi. This study uses acorrelative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consists of all students in grades VII–IX, and the sample consists of 101 respondents selected using stratified random sampling. The independent variable was social media use, and the dependent variable was mental health, which was measured using the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). Data collection was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires, which were then analyzed using the Kendall Tau test. The results showed that most adolescents were in the frequent social media use category (53.5%), and most had abnormal mental health (86.1%). Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between social media use and mental health (p = 0.001) with a correlation strength of r = 0.321, which means a moderate positive relationship. The conclusion of this study is that the higher the social media use, the worse the mental health condition of adolescents.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low science learning outcomes of elementary school students due to the dominance of conventional teacher-centered methods and the lack of innovative learning media. These conditions cause difficulties in understanding abstract concepts, low motivation, and lack of opportunities for independent learning outside the classroom. This study aims to develop an e-module based on the flipped classroom model to improve science learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4-D Thiagarajan development model which includes the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research subjects were 24 fourth-grade students of SDN 06 Aur Tajungkang Tengah Sawah Bukittinggi who were selected through total sampling. The research instruments included validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, learning outcome tests, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through content and construct validity tests, reliability tests, practicality analysis, N-Gain calculations, and independent sample t-tests with SPSS 16.0. The results of the study showed that the developed e-module was highly valid with an average validation value of 96.8% from material experts and 100% from media experts. The practicality test showed a very practical category, with 94.6% from teachers and 91.2% from students, respectively. Effectiveness analysis through N-Gain showed an increase in learning outcomes in the moderate category (0.58), and the t-test confirmed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05). The flipped classroom-based e-module is valid, practical, and effective, and is recommended to strengthen learning independence and the effectiveness of science learning in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the role of graphic designers in the content production process on the Instagram account @bpikemendes, managed by the Agency for Development and Information of Villages under the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions of Indonesia. In the context of government communication, Instagram serves as a key platform for disseminating information and engaging with the public. Graphic designers play a vital role not only in creating visually appealing content but also in ensuring that messages are effectively communicated to diverse audiences. Their ability to translate complex data and policy messages into accessible visual formats enhances both the reach and impact of the content. This research highlights how collaboration between design and communication teams contributes to the success of digital strategies in government social media, emphasizing the strategic importance of visual communication in public sector outreach. Studi ini mengkaji peran desainer grafis dalam proses produksi konten pada akun Instagram @bpikemendes, yang dikelola oleh Badan Pengembangan dan Informasi Desa di bawah Kementerian Desa, Daerah Tertinggal, dan Transmigrasi Republik Indonesia. Dalam konteks komunikasi pemerintah, Instagram berfungsi sebagai platform utama untuk menyebarkan informasi dan berinteraksi dengan masyarakat. Desainer grafis memainkan peran vital tidak hanya dalam menciptakan konten yang menarik secara visual tetapi juga dalam memastikan pesan-pesan disampaikan secara efektif kepada berbagai audiens. Kemampuan mereka untuk menerjemahkan data dan pesan kebijakan yang kompleks menjadi format visual yang mudah diakses meningkatkan jangkauan dan dampak konten. Penelitian ini menyoroti bagaimana kolaborasi antara tim desain dan komunikasi berkontribusi pada kesuksesan strategi digital di media sosial pemerintah, menekankan pentingnya komunikasi visual secara strategis dalam upaya jangkauan sektor publik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan pengalaman belajar siswa SMP dalam mengembangkan keterampilan proses sains melalui media simulasi gunung meletus menggunakan reaksi kimia dari cuka dan baking soda. Metode yang digunakan ialah kualitatif diskriptif, dengan subjek penelitian para siswa kelas VIII SMP sebanyak 31 siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran IPA pada materi struktur bumi. Data yang di dapat melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi selama kegaiatan simulasi tersebut berlangsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kegiatan simulasi gunung meletus ini dapat memeberikan suatu pengalaman belajar yang bermakna bagi siswa. Para siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan simulasi ini juga menunjukan rasa antusiasme tinggi, kemudian kemampuan kerja sama dalam suatu kelompok, serta peningkatan pada keterampilan proses sains seperti mengamati, menafsirkan, dan menyimpulkan fenomena alam. Media simulasi gunung meletus ini terbukti dapat menjelaskan pemahaman konsep yang rumit menjadi jelas atau nyata, sehingga dapat memudahkan para siswa SMP dalam memahami proses terjadinnya gunung meletus. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi bagi guru untuk mengintegrasikan media simulasi sederhana dalam pembelajaran IPA.

Abstract

Character-based leadership is the primary foundation for building a positive, ethical, and competitive school culture. Principals serve as role models who instill the values ​​of integrity, responsibility, and empathy in all aspects of education. This study aims to describe the role of character-based leadership in shaping a positive school culture and identify effective implementation strategies in the educational environment. The research method used was a case study at SDN 188 PEKANBARU. The results indicate that character-based leadership can create a harmonious school climate, increase teacher and student motivation, and strengthen cooperation among all school members. Furthermore, principals with strong character can be drivers of change toward inclusive, adaptive schools oriented toward the development of Pancasila student profiles. Thus, character-based leadership can be a strategic foundation for realizing a sustainable, positive school culture.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of internalizing Islamic educational values ​​in shaping students' ecological awareness at SD IPK Hidayah Tayu, a green school. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and students as subjects. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that value internalization occurs through three stages: value transformation, value transaction, and trans-internalization. Islamic values ​​such as trustworthiness, responsibility, and environmental stewardship are implemented through environmental awareness activities, Clean and Healthy Saturdays, plant care and fish farming projects, and water conservation. This process aligns with Hakam & Nurdin's theory of value internalization, Ki Hadjar Dewantara's value education, and Howard Gardner's theory of naturalistic intelligence. The results confirm that Islamic education plays a crucial role in fostering students' character that is faithful, responsible, and environmentally conscious.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of student engagement and understanding in mathematics learning, particularly in probability, due to the limited use of teaching materials, which are limited to printed textbooks and have not been integrated with technology. Students require interactive, engaging, and easily accessible teaching materials to support differentiated learning in the Independent Curriculum. This research aims to develop a valid and practical Project-Based Learning (PjBL)-based differentiated electronic student worksheet (LKPD) with QR codes for use in mathematics learning on probability. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The subjects included a mathematics educator and 14 tenth-grade students from SMA Negeri 1 Rambatan, with both high and low abilities. The research instruments included a characteristic questionnaire, validation sheet, practicality questionnaire, and interview guide, which were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the developed electronic student worksheet achieved a validity score of 90.8% (categorized as very valid). The practicality score was 94.17% from teachers and 90% from students (very practical category). Thus, the QR Code-assisted PjBL-based e-LKPD is declared valid, practical, and suitable for use as a mathematics learning medium for probability.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of a multidisciplinary social science approach in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. The problem underlying this research is the dominance of normative and textual teaching methods that cause students to have limited contextual understanding of Islamic values in social life. The purpose of the study is to analyze how the integration of social sciences such as sociology, anthropology, psychology, and history in PAI learning can enhance students’ critical thinking, social awareness, and holistic understanding of Islamic teachings. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation analysis. The results show that the application of a multidisciplinary approach makes the learning process more interactive, contextual, and meaningful. Students demonstrate a better ability to relate Islamic values to contemporary social issues, such as tolerance, environmental awareness, and social justice. In addition, this approach contributes positively to the development of students’ character, including empathy, responsibility, and respect for diversity. Thus, the multidisciplinary social science approach is proven to be effective in strengthening the relevance of PAI learning in responding to the challenges of modern society.
