Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of teacher competence on teacher work motivation and its impact on learning effectiveness at Garut Islamic School Prima Insani Elementary School. This quantitative study used a survey method involving 52 teachers. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using linear regression. The results showed that teacher competence significantly influenced teacher work motivation, and work motivation significantly influenced learning effectiveness. These findings indicate that increasing teacher competence can directly or indirectly improve learning effectiveness through increased work motivation. The research instrument was a 1–5 Likert scale questionnaire that measured teacher competence, work motivation, and learning effectiveness. The analysis results showed that teacher competence significantly influenced teacher work motivation. Work motivation also significantly influenced learning effectiveness. Thus, work motivation is a mediating variable that links teacher competence with learning effectiveness. This study confirms that increasing teacher competence directly and indirectly impacts the quality of learning.

Abstract

This studyaims to create YouTube video-based learning materials for teachinganecdotal texts to students at SMK Swasta 1 Parulian Medan. The approach usedis Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model, which includesthe stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the mini research show that traditional learning methods are not entirely effectivein improving student understanding. Learning materials designed through the integration ofYouTube videos have been proven to be effective in increasing student motivation and understanding ofanecdotal texts. Product evaluation shows the suitability of the media and its efficiency inimproving learning outcomes. The results of this study emphasize the importance of utilizingdigital media in teaching Indonesian language in vocational schools.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of suboptimal student learning achievement at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Al-Musaddadiyah Garut, which is characterized by a downward trend in academic attainment alongside low student motivation and affective development. This condition indicates that the implementation of guidance and counseling service policies has not been optimally integrated into learning management. The study aims to analyze the influence of guidance and counseling service policy implementation on learning management, the influence of these policies on learning achievement, and the influence of learning management on student learning achievement. The research method employed is a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population consists of all teachers at MTs Al-Musaddadiyah Garut, with a total sampling of 30 respondents. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) via the SmartPLS application. The results show that the implementation of guidance and counseling service policies has a positive and significant effect on both learning management and student learning achievement. Furthermore, learning management is proven to have a positive and significant effect on student learning achievement. The coefficient of determination (R²) values of 0.630 for learning management and 0.730 for learning achievement indicate that the model possesses strong explanatory power. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the effective integration of guidance and counseling services within learning management is crucial for improving student learning achievement holistically. It is recommended to strengthen the collaboration between subject teachers and guidance counselors as a key strategy in madrasah educational management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of student management on the development of religious culture and its implications for students’ learning achievement at SDIT Garut Islamic School Prima Insani. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 52 teachers and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS. The results indicate that student management has a positive and significant effect on religious culture development and students’ learning achievement. Furthermore, religious culture development also has a positive and significant effect on students’ learning achievement. Mediation analysis reveals that religious culture development partially mediates the relationship between student management and students’ learning achievement. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating effective student management with religious culture development as a strategic approach to enhancing students’ learning achievement holistically

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the forms of politeness in student discussions. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive design. Data collection techniques include observation, notes, and recording the forms and functions of politeness expressed in student discussions. Data analysis techniques are carried out through data transcription, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the forms of politeness in the classroom have fulfilled the six maxims starting from the maxim of wisdom/wisdom, the maxim of generosity, the maxim of praise/appreciation, the maxim of humility/simplicity, the maxim of agreement/agreement and the maxim of sympathy. However, it was revealed that the maxim of generosity was the most frequently found in student speech while the maxim of humility was the least found. Thus, it can be concluded that the class has fulfilled the overall impression of language, although it still needs to be strengthened on the maxim of humility.

Abstract

This study investigates students’ reading literacy and numeracy at SMPN 04 Merangin using Academic Try Out results as a diagnostic basis to formulate data informed instructional follow-ups. Employing a qualitative case study design, the study primarily draws on document analysis of Try Out score reports and test blueprints/items, supported by domain/indicator coding and descriptive statistics to map achievement profiles. The participants were 16 students completing 40 items (20 literacy; 20 numeracy). Results indicate a mean literacy score of 61.25% (SD=16.68), a lower mean numeracy score of 49.38% (SD=15.69), and an overall mean of 55.31% (SD=15.62), with scores ranging from 32.5% to 82.5%. Ten out of sixteen students scored below 50% in numeracy, compared to five in literacy; seven students were below 50% overall. The literacy–numeracy gap was relatively consistent, averaging 11.88 percentage points, with several students showing gaps of ≥20 points highlighting numeracy as the primary intervention priority. These findings underscore the value of leveraging Try Out data as a needs-assessment map to guide targeted numeracy remediation emphasizing modeling and interpretation, strengthening higher-order reading literacy (inference and evaluation), and implementing indicator-based formative assessment to monitor progress over time.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of beginner piano learning at levels CFK 1–JC 1 in a nonformal music education context, specifically within the Private Class Program at Sekolah Musik Indonesia (SMI) Puri Anjasmoro Semarang. Beginner piano instruction in nonformal institutions often faces pedagogical challenges such as differences in students’ abilities, learning pace, motivation, and initial musical background. This research aims to describe and analyze the implementation of beginner piano learning, including syllabus application, learning materials, instructional strategies, learning media, challenges encountered by teachers, and students’ learning outcomes. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with piano teachers and academic administrators, and documentation analysis, including syllabi, teaching materials, and student progress reports. Data validity was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings indicate that beginner piano learning at SMI is implemented in a gradual and flexible manner through one-to-one instruction, allowing teachers to adapt materials, methods, and tempo to individual student needs. Learning materials are structured progressively, supported by various media such as learning handbooks, student learning guides, etude compilations, and minus one accompaniment. Instructional methods include drills, demonstrations, and supporting methods adapted to students’ characteristics. Student learning outcomes show gradual improvement in technical skills, musical understanding, and learning attitudes, as documented in periodic progress reports. The study concludes that adaptive, student-centered, and tiered piano instruction is essential for effective beginner piano learning in nonformal music education settings.

Abstract

This study addresses the common tendency to view balā’ (trial) merely as negative misfortune, whereas the Qur’an and Sufi exegetical traditions often frame trials as instruments for faith formation and spiritual maturity. The research aims to examine the concept of balā’ within Sufi isyārī exegesis by analyzing Imam al-Qushayrī’s (d. 465 H) Laṭā’if al-Isyārāt, focusing on how he interprets Qur’anic passages on trials and what implications follow for religious life. Employing a qualitative library based approach, the primary sources are the Qur’an and Laṭā’if al-Isyārāt, supported by relevant works in Qur’anic exegesis and Sufism; the analysis is conducted through thematic mapping and hermeneutical reading. The findings indicate that al-Qushayrī understands balā’ as a mode of spiritual pedagogy: (1) purification of the self (tazkiyah), (2) advancement through spiritual stations and strengthened servanthood, and (3) unveiling inner meanings that guide the seeker toward ma‘rifah (gnosis). In conclusion, balā’ is not punishment but a means of spiritual transformation fostering patience, contentment, and existential closeness to God.

Abstract

Primary school students' interest in Balinese satua has declined due to their limited understanding of the context of historical stories and the dominance of modern reading materials, resulting in local moral and cultural values not being optimally conveyed. This study aims to produce a remake of a Balinese satua storybook entitled I Belog, oriented towards postmodernism, for primary school students, which is reviewed in terms of its design, content validity, and practicality. This study is a research and development study using the ADDIE model. The subject of this study is the remake of the Balinese satua storybook I Belog, oriented towards postmodernism. The developed product was validated by subject matter experts, media experts, and language experts, and was given to primary school teachers and students to obtain feedback on the practicality of the product. The data collection methods used included questionnaires and checklists. The data obtained were analysed using quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. The results of the content validity test obtained a very high category, with subject matter experts scoring 1, media experts scoring 1, and language experts scoring 0.8. The feasibility of the learning resource was also assessed from the teachers' responses, which scored 100% with a very good qualification, and the students' response test scored 92.53% with a very good qualification. The implications this study indicate that the I Belog remake storybook can strengthen students' cultural literacy and character building if supported by collaboration between schools and the government to integrate traditional values into a modern context

Abstract

Learning three-dimensional geometry in elementary schools still faces low conceptual understanding due to limited visualization and the dominance of two-dimensional media, which affects students’ learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze and examine the validity and effectiveness of AR-based interactive learning media. The research employed a R&D approach using the ADDIE model. The subjects included 28 fifth-grade students, one teacher, and two media experts and two subject-matter experts. Data were collected through validation questionnaires, teacher and student responses, and pre-test and post-test instruments, and analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results show that the AR media achieved very high validity (media experts 4.9; material experts 4.8), very good practicality (teacher response 97.71% and student response 94.55%), and effectiveness in improving learning outcomes with p<0.05. In conclusion, AR-based learning media is effective in improving students’ geometry learning outcomes. The implication, AR media has strong potential as an interactive and meaningful mathematics learning.
