Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Quiz-based Educaplay media in Indonesian Language subjects to increase the learning interest of Grade III students at SD Negeri 69 Banda Aceh, specifically regarding Heroic Stories material. Educaplay learning media based on Quizzes aims to enhance student learning interest through fun, technology-based interaction. This study utilized a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design using the one-group pretest-posttest method, involving 30 students without a control group. Data were collected through test instruments (pretest-posttest) and observation sheets. The collected data were analyzed using statistical tests (t-test). The normality test results using Shapiro-Wilk showed a pretest score of 0.53 and a posttest score of 0.73. The hypothesis testing results using the paired sample t-test yielded a value of 0.00 (≤ 0.05), with an average increase of 24.333. This indicates that the use of Quiz-based Educaplay media has a positive influence on increasing students' learning interest in Indonesian Language subjects. The conclusion of this study is that Quiz-based Educaplay media in Indonesian Language subjects is effective in increasing students' learning interest in Heroic Stories material.

Abstract

Indonesian language learning in elementary schools plays a crucial role in developing critical thinking skills and student learning awareness. However, learning still tends to be teacher-centered and does not fully train students to be aware of their own thinking processes. One effort that can be made to address this problem is the implementation of metacognitive strategies combined with the use of video learning media. This study aims to describe the application of metacognitive strategies in Indonesian language learning using video media and its impact on the critical thinking skills of fourth grade students at SD Negeri 70 Banda Aceh. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of one teacher and several fourth grade students. The results of the study indicate that the application of metacognitive strategies, including planning, monitoring, and evaluation, can improve students' engagement, understanding, and awareness of their learning process. The use of instructional video media can capture students' attention, increase their motivation to learn, and help them understand the material on differentiating facts from opinions more concretely. Students demonstrated positive responses, expressed their opinions more confidently, and gained greater confidence in participating in the learning process. Therefore, the application of metacognitive strategies supported by instructional video media is considered effective in improving the quality of Indonesian language learning and critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 70 Banda Aceh

Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve students’ learning activeness in Fiqh learning, particularly on the topic of thaharah, through the implementation of a group discussion method assisted by student worksheets (LKPD) at Madrasah Aliyah Laboratory Kota Jambi. The study was motivated by the low level of student participation during learning activities, such as asking questions, expressing opinions, and engaging in group work. The purpose of this research was to describe the implementation process of group discussion supported by LKPD and to examine its effectiveness in enhancing students’ learning activeness. This research employed a classroom action research design conducted in two cycles, involving 25 students of grade X. Data were collected through observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. The indicators of learning activeness included participation in discussions, cooperation within groups, initiative in asking and answering questions, and responsibility in completing tasks. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ learning activeness from the pre-cycle to Cycle I and further increased in Cycle II. The application of structured group discussions supported by LKPD created a more interactive learning environment, encouraged students to participate actively, and helped them understand Fiqh concepts more meaningfully. Therefore, the group discussion method assisted by LKPD proved to be effective in increasing students’ learning activeness in Fiqh learning on thaharah material.

Abstract

Bullying is a common problem in elementary schools that can negatively affect students’ development. This study aims to describe teachers’ strategies in overcoming bullying behavior in the fourth grade of SD Negeri 70 Banda Aceh. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method. The participants included the classroom teacher, the principal, bullying perpetratos, victims, and witnesses. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that bullying in the fourth SD Negeri 70 Banda Aceh occurred in the form of verbal bullying, such as teasing and name-calling, and physical bullying, such as pushing and hitting. The result show that teachers addressed bullying by giving advice and warnings, instilling character values, applying personal approaches to students, and collaborating with the school and parents. These strategies helped recude bullying behavior and create a safe and comfortable learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the outdoor learning method in increasing the learning motivation of third-grade students at SD Negeri 54 Banda Aceh in the subject of IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies). The background of this study is the low level of students’ learning motivation caused by less engaging, monotonous, and unvaried teaching methods. The outdoor learning method is a teaching strategy conducted outside the classroom by utilizing the surrounding environment as a learning resource, allowing students to directly observe and interact with learning objects, particularly ecosystem materials. This research employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental one-shot case study design involving third-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and documentation. The instruments were tested for validity and reliability using SPSS version 25. The conceptual framework was based on the assumption that the outdoor method can overcome students’ boredom in classroom learning by creating a more flexible, enjoyable, and concrete learning experience. The results showed that the outdoor learning method was effective in increasing students’ learning motivation, as indicated by improvements in enthusiasm, participation, and students’ ability to understand the material. Supporting factors included easily accessible learning media, more enjoyable learning activities, and concrete learning resources that facilitated better comprehension of the material. This study contributes theoretically to the development of educational science and practically provides teachers with an alternative creative teaching method to improve the quality of IPAS learning in elementary schools

Abstract

The low ability to write descriptive texts among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 6 Metro Timur serves as the background for this research. This study aims to analyze the improvement in descriptive text writing skills thru the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model among elementary school students. The research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 40 students determined thru a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected thru descriptive text writing tests, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted thru prerequisite tests such as normality and homogeneity tests, as well as hypothesis testing using simple linear regression. The research results show that the application of the CIRC learning model has a significant impact on improving the ability to write descriptive texts among fifth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Quranic learning in elementary schools plays a crucial role in shaping students' character, morals, and religious identity from an early age. In addition to instilling Islamic values, this learning also improves Arabic reading and comprehension skills. However, in practice, students still experience difficulties in reading the Quran correctly, particularly in reading short surahs at SDN 1 Blangkejeren, particularly in the aspects of makharijul huruf and tajwid. This study aims to analyze the types of student difficulties, the causal factors, and the teachers' efforts to overcome them. The study used a qualitative approach with eight fifth-grade students selected purposively, and data collection through interviews, observations, and tests. The results showed five main forms of difficulties: distinguishing hijaiyah letters, understanding connected letters, distinguishing between long and short readings, pronouncing makharijul huruf, and applying tajwid rules. These difficulties are influenced by students' lack of focus, incorrect reading habits, minimal exposure to Quranic recitation outside of school, and limited Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers. Teachers' efforts include the use of hijaiyah letter cards, drill methods, and providing reading examples and direct correction.

Abstract

This study was conducted based on the problem of low student engagement and limited appreciation of cultural diversity in Civic Education (Pendidikan Pancasila) learning in Grade V of elementary school. The study aimed to analyze the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in teaching cultural diversity material and to examine its impact on students’ understanding and attitudes toward diversity. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through classroom observations, interviews, and documentation. The learning process was carried out through project stages, including planning, implementation, and evaluation, where students worked in heterogeneous groups to create a “Mini Exhibition of Indonesian Cultural Diversity.” The findings revealed that the implementation of PjBL increased students’ active participation, collaboration, and responsibility during the learning process. Cognitively, students demonstrated better understanding of various elements of Indonesian culture. Affectively, students showed improved tolerance, respect for differences, and a stronger sense of national pride. Socially, the project activities enhanced communication skills and teamwork among students. Therefore, the study concludes that Project Based Learning is an effective and meaningful approach to foster students’ understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity in elementary Civic Education.

Abstract

The Bapapai tradition is a wedding bathing ritual of the Banjar tribe in Betara District that symbolizes physical and spiritual purification before marriage. The existence of this ritual contains syncretism between pre-Islamic beliefs and Islamic values, prompting the need to examine the form of acculturation between Islamic law and customs in its practice. This study aims to analyze the process, transformation of meaning, and the position of the Bapapai tradition from the perspective of Islamic law. The research method used is qualitative with a socio-legal and ethnographic approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation in Betara District, then analyzed using the Maqashid Syariah lens. The results show that Bapapai functions as a rite of passage and a symbol of prayer for household blessings. A transformation of meaning has occurred from mystical to religious practice, where pre-Islamic elements such as offerings have been adapted with prayers, salawat, and zikir. From the Maqashid Syariah perspective, this tradition is categorized as 'Urf Shahih (valid custom) and an aspect of Tahsiniyat (perfection of aesthetics and ethics) as it supports mental health and does not conflict with sharia as long as it remains free from shirk and maintains modesty. The conclusion confirms that the Bapapai tradition in Betara District is a form of harmonious acculturation that integrates Islamic values into local culture without losing the ancestral identity of the Banjar tribe.

Abstract

This study aims to understand and analyze in depth the tradition of jujuran in Banjar traditional weddings from the perspective of maqashid sharia in Betara District. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the jujuran tradition aligns with maqashid sharia and to examine the positive and negative impacts contained within the jujuran tradition. This is a qualitative study using a field approach conducted in Betara District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The hypotheses in this study are: (1) the existence of a custom of carrying out the jujuran tradition in Banjar society, (2) the legal status of the jujuran tradition from the perspective of maqashid sharia, and (3) the positive and negative impacts of the jujuran tradition. Hypotheses were tested using descriptive analysis by grouping and interpreting data. This research yields three results, namely: (1) the occurrence of the practice of jujuran in Betara District, which can be categorized as urf sahih as long as it does not cause a burden (musyaqqah) for the groom, (2) maqashid sharia with the practice of jujuran has an important functional relationship to the protection of the five main elements of sharia (al- daruriyyat al-khamsah), as long as it does not cause a burden for the groom, (3) there are positive impacts that bring benefits to both families, however, negative impacts on the practice of jujuran will occur when it is not implemented proportionally. The conclusion of this research is that the practice of the jujuran tradition can still be carried out, because it has an important functional relationship to the protection of the five main elements of sharia (al- daruriyyat al-khamsah) by placing custom as a means of realizing the sacred purpose of marriage. However, it is necessary to continue to internalize the values of deliberation in the jujuran tradition to ensure that the practice remains within the corridor of benefits that are in line with the spirit of Islamic law. Furthermore, moderation is necessary so that traditions continue to function as instruments of glorification without neglecting the principle of convenience (taysir)
