Abstract

Education is essentially a planned and continuous process aimed at developing students’ potential to become independent, responsible, and competent individuals. However, the learning process in vocational schools, particularly in accounting subjects, still shows that many students rely heavily on teachers and have not yet developed optimal independent learning skills. This study aims to analyze the influence of self-awareness and learning creativity on learning independence in accounting subjects among students of the Accounting Department at SMK PAB 2 Helvetia. The research employed a quantitative approach using an ex post facto correlational method. The population consisted of students from the Accounting Department, with a sample of 41 students selected as research respondents. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire based on indicators of self-awareness, learning creativity, and learning independence. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26. The results of the study indicate that self-awareness has a positive and significant effect on students’ learning independence with a regression coefficient of 0.659 and a significance value below 0.05. Furthermore, learning creativity also shows a positive and significant influence on learning independence with a regression coefficient of 0.686 and a significance value below 0.05. Simultaneously, self-awareness and learning creativity contribute positively to strengthening students’ learning independence. These findings suggest that improving students’ awareness of their own learning potential and encouraging creative learning strategies can enhance independent learning behavior in accounting education.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to determine the systematic steps for implementing a discovery learning model based on the snakes and ladders game to improve the motivation and learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at MTsN 2 Kota Blitar on the topic of elements, compounds, and mixtures. The study was conducted over two cycles, with two meetings in each cycle. The systematic steps of the discovery learning model include stimulation, problem identification, data collection, data processing, verification, and generalization. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the discovery learning model successfully improved students’ motivation and learning outcomes on the topic of elements, compounds, and mixtures. In Cycle I, learning motivation increased from 57.5% (fair category) to 77.5% (good category) in Cycle II. Furthermore, the percentage of students who achieved mastery learning improved from 48% in Cycle I to 76% in Cycle II.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools face challenges in adopting technology for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, even though technology can enhance the quality of education and students' skills. This study aims to analyze the implementation of technology based learning in Islamic boarding schools to improve students' hard skills and soft skills. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis in three boarding schools in Batam. The results show that technology effectively enhances students' hard skills in studying the Qur’an, fiqh, and Islamic history, as well as strengthens soft skills such as communication, leadership, and teamwork through digital based projects. Key supporting factors include leadership support, students' enthusiasm, and the availability of digital resources. Meanwhile, hindering factors include infrastructure limitations, varying teacher competencies, and resistance to change. The conclusion of this study suggests improvements in infrastructure, teacher training, and policies that support the integration of technology in PAI learning.

Abstract

The low student learning outcomes in the subject of Creative Project and Entrepreneurship at a vocational high school in Pekanbaru indicate the need for more varied instructional media to support active and interactive learning. This study was conducted to analyze the differences in students’ learning outcomes with the implementation of Wordwall as a learning medium in the Creative Project and Entrepreneurship subject at one vocational school in Pekanbaru. The research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental design. The sample consisted of 64 students selected through purposive sampling, comprising 27 students in the experimental class and 37 students in the control class. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, and questionnaires. The results of the data analysis revealed a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes following the implementation of Wordwall, as indicated by the independent samples t-test result showing a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 < 0.05. The mean post-test score of the experimental class was 92.59, while that of the control class was 80.81. These findings demonstrate that the use of Wordwall as a learning medium significantly affects students’ learning outcomes. Therefore, Wordwall is considered a feasible and effective alternative instructional medium to enhance students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

Mathematics learning at the high school level still shows various problems, especially in students' mathematical problem-solving abilities on the material of two-variable linear inequality systems, which is characterized by many student errors in solving problems in the form of problem solving. This study aims to identify the types of errors made by class X students of SMA and the factors causing errors in solving mathematical problems on the material. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, with the research subjects being class X students of. Data collection was conducted through written tests and interviews, while data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Analysis of student errors was based on Polya's problem-solving stages combined with the Newman Procedure. The results showed that students made four types of errors: errors in understanding the problem, errors in creating a solution plan, errors in implementing the plan, and errors in rechecking the final answer. The most dominant error occurred at the stage of implementing the plan with a percentage of 59.1%, while the least error occurred at the stage of understanding the problem at 17%. Factors causing errors included a lack of understanding of the basic concepts of two-variable linear inequality systems, an inability to transform contextual problems into mathematical models, weak skills in drawing graphs and determining the solution region, and students' low habit of rechecking their answers. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that student errors are conceptual and procedural in nature, so mathematics learning is recommended to emphasize conceptual understanding, strengthening procedural skills, and the habit of reflection and rechecking in the process of mathematical problem solving.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of interactive learning videos based on the Discovery Learning model on students’ scientific writing skills in Phase F at SMAN 11 Muaro Jambi. This research employed a quantitative pre-experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of one experimental class selected purposively. Data were collected through pretest and posttest writing assessments evaluated using a structured rubric. Statistical analysis included normality testing and hypothesis testing using t-test. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ scientific writing ability after the implementation of interactive video-based Discovery Learning. The findings indicate that the integration of interactive video media with Discovery Learning stages effectively enhances students’ understanding of scientific writing structure, argument development, and systematic composition. Therefore, interactive learning videos can serve as an innovative instructional strategy to improve scientific writing competence in senior high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using animated video learning media on the understanding of IPAS concepts among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 9 Ampenan. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used in this study was non-probability sampling, specifically purposive sampling.The data collection techniques used were tests and observation. The hypothesis was tested using an independent sample t-test. The results of the independent sample t-test showed that t_count > t_table, namely 2.953 > 2.014 and the sig. (2-tailed) value was < 0.05, namely 0.005 < 0.05, which means that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected.Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of animated video learning media has an effect on the understanding of IPAS concepts among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 9 Ampenan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the joyful learning method in improving students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in class VIII.F at UPT SMP Negeri 37 Makassar. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 34 students. Data were collected through observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The results showed that in the pre-action stage, only 12 students (35%) achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) with an average score of 76. After implementing joyful learning in cycle I, the number of students who achieved mastery increased to 20 students (58%) with an average score of 82. In cycle II, a more significant improvement occurred, with 30 students (88%) achieving mastery and the class average score increasing to 88. In addition to improving learning outcomes, the implementation of joyful learning created a more active, interactive, and enjoyable classroom atmosphere, enhancing students’ motivation and confidence. Therefore, the joyful learning method proved to be effective in improving students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

Character education is a fundamental aspect that should be instilled from an early age, particularly at the elementary school level. One of the essential character values to be developed is the spirit of mutual cooperation and social care. These values can be cultivated through various approaches, one of which is community empowerment. This study aims to examine the role of community empowerment in fostering the values of mutual cooperation and social care through character education in elementary schools. The research employs a qualitative approach using a literature study method by analyzing relevant books and scholarly journal articles. The findings indicate that community empowerment plays a significant role in strengthening the values of mutual cooperation and social care among students, teachers, and the surrounding community. Active community involvement in character education activities enhances students’ social awareness, cooperative skills, and empathy. Furthermore, community empowerment contributes to improving the quality of character education implementation in a contextual and sustainable manner at the elementary school level. ABSTRAK Pendidikan karakter merupakan aspek fundamental yang perlu ditanamkan sejak usia dini, khususnya pada jenjang sekolah dasar. Salah satu nilai karakter yang penting untuk dikembangkan adalah jiwa gotong royong dan kepedulian sosial. Penanaman nilai tersebut dapat dilakukan melalui berbagai pendekatan, salah satunya melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam menumbuhkan nilai gotong royong dan kepedulian sosial melalui pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur, melalui analisis terhadap berbagai buku dan artikel jurnal ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pemberdayaan masyarakat berperan signifikan dalam menumbuhkan nilai gotong royong dan kepedulian sosial pada peserta didik, guru, serta masyarakat. Keterlibatan aktif masyarakat dalam kegiatan pendidikan karakter mampu meningkatkan kesadaran sosial, keterampilan bekerja sama, serta empati peserta didik. Selain itu, pemberdayaan masyarakat juga berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kualitas implementasi pendidikan karakter secara kontekstual dan berkelanjutan di sekolah dasar. Kata kunci: pendidikan karakter, pemberdayaan masyarakat, gotong royong, kepedulian sosial, sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically investigate the effect of implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based learning, specifically using the Canva AI platform, on improving the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a control and experimental group. The sample consisted of 60 fifth-grade elementary school students in Bandung Regency, divided into two groups of 30 students each. The experimental group received a learning intervention using Canva AI that included interactive visual materials, contextual illustrations, and Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based questions tailored to the characteristics of elementary school students' cognitive development. The control group used conventional learning methods. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests to measure students' critical thinking skills. The results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group compared to the control group. Analysis of the coefficient of determination showed that AI-based learning contributed 69% (R Square = 0.690) to improving elementary school students' critical thinking skills. These findings indicate that AI integration at the elementary school level is effective in helping students understand abstract concepts through concrete visualizations, developing simple analytical skills, and practicing evaluation through contextual questions. Keywords: artificial intelligence, critical thinking, integration ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki secara empiris pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran berbasis Kecerdasan Buatan (AI), khususnya menggunakan platform Canva AI, terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimen dengan kelompok kontrol dan eksperimen. Sampel terdiri dari 60 siswa kelas V SD di Kab. Bandung, yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa. Kelompok eksperimen menerima intervensi pembelajaran menggunakan Canva AI yang mencakup materi visual interaktif, ilustrasi kontekstual, serta pertanyaan berbasis Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) yang disesuaikan dengan karakteristik perkembangan kognitif siswa SD. Kelompok kontrol menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan kelompok kontrol. Analisis koefisien determinasi menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis AI berkontribusi sebesar 69% (R Square = 0,690) terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SD. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi AI pada jenjang Sekolah Dasar efektif dalam membantu siswa memahami konsep abstrak melalui visualisasi konkret, mengembangkan kemampuan analisis sederhana, serta melatih evaluasi melalui pertanyaan kontekstual.
