Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

The primary objective of this research was to investigate the enhancement of oral communication proficiency among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 151/IV Kota Jambi through the application of instructional media. The study employed a Classroom Action Research methodology, focusing on a cohort of 28 fifth-grade students during the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection was conducted utilizing observational techniques and performance assessments. The research employed both quantitative and qualitative analytical approaches to evaluate the students' speaking skill progression. The research findings reveal a significant enhancement in speaking proficiency among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 151/IV Kota Jambi through the implementation of image-based media. The improvement is evident across multiple speaking skill dimensions, including pronunciation accuracy, intonation modulation, vocabulary selection, discourse coherence, verbal confidence, linguistic fluency, communicative attitude, and thematic comprehension. The progression is directly reflected in both the learning process and students' performance metrics.Comparative analysis of assessment scores demonstrates a clear developmental trajectory. The pre-intervention baseline showed an average performance of 69.42, categorized as moderately skilled, with a student achievement rate of 36%. Following the first instructional cycle, the average score increased to 73.32, maintaining a moderate skill classification. The second intervention cycle yielded more remarkable outcomes, with the average score climbing to 88.82 and student completeness percentage reaching 79%, now classified as a very good performance level. Data interpretation conclusively indicates that the strategic application of image media in speaking skill instruction for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 151/IV Kota Jambi effectively enhanced students' communication capabilities, providing a robust pedagogical approach to language learning development.

Lack of use of interesting learning media in learning activities so that students become passive. This research aims to determine the validity of the pop up book learning media on the potential of Pamekasan salt for fourth grade elementary school students which can be seen from the validation of material and media experts. The type of research used is development research with the ADDIE model. However, this research was only at the Development stage. The subjects in this research were fourth grade students at SD Negeri Ponteh 1. The data collection techniques used in this research were questionnaires, observation, interviews and documentation. The analysis technique in this research uses descriptive qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. The research results showed that the pop up book media on the potential of Pamekasan salt, the material for changing the form of objects developed, obtained a percentage score of 87.5% in the category "Very valid, no need for revision" by material experts, from media experts obtained a percentage score of 98% in the category "Very valid, no need for revision”. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the pop up book learning media on the potential of Pamekasan salt is suitable for use as a learning media in class IV at SD Negeri Ponteh 1.

This study aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of grade IX students at SMPN 1 Geger through the application of the Discovery Learning model combined with the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach. The main problem faced is the low understanding of mathematical concepts by students. The Discovery Learning model was chosen because it can encourage students to find concepts independently through exploration, while the TaRL approach adjusts learning to students' abilities. This study is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles, with 32 students as subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and learning outcome tests, using observation sheet instruments, post-test questions, and structured interviews. The results showed a significant increase in mathematics learning outcomes. The average score in cycle I was 73.5, while in cycle II it increased to 86.8. The percentage of learning completion also increased from 56% in cycle I to 84% in cycle II. These results indicate that the application of the Discovery Learning model combined with TaRL is effective in improving the mathematics learning outcomes of grade IX students.

n the midst of globalization, folk tales such as Putri Reno Pinang Masak are starting to be displaced by popular culture which does not always reflect local values. The younger generation tends to be less familiar with this story, so they miss the opportunity to learn from the moral values and leadership contained in it. This research aims to explore leadership values in Jambi folklore, namely the story of Putri Reno Pinang Masak. The method used in this research is a historical method which includes five main stages: topic selection, source collection, source verification, data interpretation, and historical writing. The sources used are literature, articles and historical documents relevant to the folklore of Putri Reno Pinang Masak. The research results show that the story of Putri Reno Pinang Masak contains very important leadership values, such as love for the people, wisdom in making decisions, courage to face threats, integrity, responsibility, and the ability to maintain honor and self-respect. The folklore of Putri Reno Pinang Masak contains various leadership values that are important and relevant to be applied in today's life. These values can be used as inspiration in forming a strong leader's character, especially in facing challenges and making wise decisions. Keywords: jambi culture, folklore, leadership values

Indonesia's rich and diverse culture includes dance as an important element in people's lives. One of the typical dance arts is the Maanta Dance from Batanghari Regency, Jambi Province, which has a significant role in traditional wedding processions. This dance not only conveys the beauty of movement, but also cultural values such as mutual cooperation, friendship and respect for tradition. This research aims to explore the cultural values, role of education, and efforts to preserve the Maanta Dance as cultural heritage. The research uses a qualitative approach with literature study as the main method, examining various literature related to the Maanta Dance and its relevance in the context of culture, education and preserving local traditions. Data is collected from written sources, such as relevant articles, journals and books. The research results show that the Maanta Dance has deep meaning as a symbol of harmony between families, tribal unity and respect for tradition. In an educational context, this dance is effective in instilling social and cultural values in the younger generation, as well as fostering a sense of love for the country. Conservation efforts are carried out through documentation, art festivals, and integration in formal and non-formal education. Innovation in dance presentation is also an important strategy to attract the interest of the younger generation without losing traditional values. Maanta Dance plays a big role in introducing Batanghari cultural identity amidst the increasingly strong challenges of globalization. Keywords: cultural values, maanta dance, local traditions

This study aims to examine the effect of differentiated learning implementation on mathematical communication skills of high school students, especially in terms of their level of learning independence. The research method used was quasi-experiment with pre-test-post-test design. The research sample was high school students. The results showed that there was a significant improvement in the mathematical communication skills of students in the experimental group. In addition, a positive correlation was found between students' learning independence and the improvement of their mathematical communication skills. The implication of this study is that differentiated learning can be an effective alternative to improve students' mathematical communication skills, especially for students with a high level of learning independence.

This research was conducted due to the discovery of an elementary schools that has integrated the SEL (Social Emotional Learning) approach into its PAI program. (Pendidikan Agama Islam). The purpose of this research is to describe and discuss how the school integrates SEL with Islamic Religious Education, what the obstacles and solutions are, and what the outcomes are. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection used observation techniques, interviews, and documentation studies. This research reveals that SEL has been integrated by incorporating it as an approach within the framework of the PAI curriculum, and establishing it as a standard for Islamic interaction and behavior in the school environment; obstacles were found in the limited competence of teachers and the lack of synergy among all school elements; solutions include teacher training, parental involvement, partnerships with the community, and evaluation and enhancement by scholars and psychologists brought into the school. The study's results conclude that the school being researched has integrated SEL with Islamic Religious Education, conducted educational processes that stimulate social-emotional skills, and created a more inclusive and supportive learning environment, thereby better supporting students' academic achievements.

Teacher professions have several advantages from other professions. The Javanese term says that the teacher is someone who is believed and imitated (exemplified), is a profession that deserves to be appreciated and upheld. Implementation of these things should be a teacher should be a model to make the educational world based on character, moral and not leave the local cultural wisdom. This study aims to see (1) how the role of teachers as a model in the formation of student character, (2) how the challenge faced by teachers as a model in the formation of student character. The method used in this research is qualitative description. The results of this study indicate that teachers have a complex task and responsibilities towards the achievement of educational goals, teachers are not only required to master the science to be taught, have knowledge and teaching skills, teachers are also required to have morals, characters and personality that can be made role model for learners.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan menyimak yang dihadapi oleh siswa kelas rendah SD, khususnya dalam pembelajaran mendongeng di SD N 2 Pesabaan. Menyimak merupakan keterampilan dasar dalam pembelajaran bahasa yang penting untuk mendukung kemampuan berbicara, membaca, dan menulis. Namun, banyak siswa di kelas rendah yang mengalami kesulitan dalam menyimak, yang tercermin dalam kurangnya konsentrasi dan pemahaman terhadap cerita yang dibacakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi kesulitan menyimak di antaranya adalah perkembangan kognitif yang belum mapan, keterbatasan kosakata, kesulitan memusatkan perhatian, serta faktor sosial dan emosional. Selain itu, strategi pembelajaran yang kreatif dan interaktif, seperti penggunaan visualisasi, ekspresi wajah, dan pertanyaan yang melibatkan anak secara aktif, dapat membantu mengatasi kesulitan menyimak pada siswa kelas rendah. Dengan pendekatan yang tepat, siswa dapat lebih mudah memahami dan menikmati pembelajaran mendongeng, serta memperoleh pelajaran yang terkandung dalam cerita.

The Picture and Picture learning model is a learning model where the teacher uses tools or image media to explain material or facilitate students to actively learn. By using tools or image media, it is hoped that students will be able to follow lessons with good focus and in pleasant conditions. So that whatever message is conveyed is usually well received and able to sink into the heart, and can be remembered again. This Classroom Action Research (PTK) was carried out in two cycles with the main material: Bangun Datar. The data collection tools used consist of learning instruments, evaluations (tests) and observations to determine data validation. The subjects studied were teachers and class IV students at SDN 171/IV Jambi City. The results of the research show that by using the Picture and Picture learning model, student learning outcomes in each cycle have increased significantly. These changes, which were previously bad, have become better. Consecutively (based on cycle I and cycle II) the Mathematics learning results of class IV students at SDN 171/IV Jambi City on the main subject Flat building in cycle I obtained an average score of 76.84. Of the 19 students, as many as 6 students (32%) did not complete because the scores obtained did not reach the expected KKM, namely 70. So the percentage of student completion obtained was 70%. Meanwhile, the classical Completeness Standard is classically considered to have completed learning if 80% of the number of students achieve a minimum absorption capacity of 70. Meanwhile, in cycle II the data obtained an average value of 84.11. Of the 19 students, as many as 2 students (11%) did not complete because the scores obtained did not reach the expected KKM, namely 70. So the percentage of student completion obtained was 90%. Meanwhile, the classical Completeness Standard is classically considered to have completed learning if 80% of the number of students achieve a minimum absorption capacity of 70. The application of the Picture and Picture learning model can ultimately improve the Mathematics learning outcomes of class IV students at SDN 171/IV Jambi City.
