Abstract

The low level of student understanding of light and its properties at SDN 2 Babaktulung presents a barrier to creative learning, which is still dominated by conventional textbook-based approaches. The primary objective of this research is to develop instructional video media that implements a contextual approach to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN 2 Babaktulung in science, specifically on the topic of light and its properties. The development stages in this research are guided by the ADDIE model, which consists of five main stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection in this study involved observation, interviews, pre-tests and post-tests, and questionnaire distribution. This research demonstrates that the resulting instructional video media meets very high validity standards, as indicated by validation scores of 90% from material experts, 84% from media experts, and 86% from language experts and practitioners. In terms of practicality, this media is considered very suitable for use with a readability percentage reaching 96%, student responses of 96%, and teacher responses of 100%. There was a change in the average student score, increasing from 51.25 in the pre-test to 87.5 in the post-test. The N-Gain calculation result of 0.74 indicates a very effective level of media effectiveness. The results of the study indicate that this contextual video media meets the eligibility criteria for use in science learning, as it is considered valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

This study focuses on the stylistic meaning in the form of figures of speech and imagery contained in the eleven songs in the Memorandum album by the Perunggu band. The researcher uses a qualitative descriptive method to analyze the stylistic meaning in the form of figures of speech and imagery elements in the Memorandum album by the Perunggu band. In this study, the researcher describes the results of the study of the Memorandum album by the Perunggu band according to the research object. Based on the results of the discussion of Stylistic Analysis in the Memorandum album by the Perunggu band, the following conclusions are obtained. 1. The results of the stylistic analysis in the form of figures of speech and imagery of the eleven songs in the Memorandum album by the Perunggu band provide quite diverse messages and meanings. Each of the eleven songs has its own uniqueness and diversity. 2. The results of the analysis show that there are 121 data that state figures of speech in the Memorandum album by the Perunggu band with the results of 88 data stating comparison figures of speech and 33 data stating link figures of speech. As well as 84 data that state the imagery on the Memorandum album by the band Perunggu.

Abstract

This study aims to improve learning motivation and learning outcomes by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Diorama Media to improve motivation and science learning outcomes for grade III students of UPTD SDN 1 Kedokanbunder Wetan. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted through three cycles, each consisting of Planning, Implementation, Observation, and Reflection, with research subjects being third-grade students of UPTD SDN 1 Kedokanbunder Wetan, Kedokanbunder District, Indramayu Regency. With a total of 40 students, data collection methods used were questionnaires, tests, and observations. Observations of the application of the problem based learning (PBL) model in cycle I reached 83%, observations in cycle II reached 85%, and observations in cycle III reached 87%. Students' learning motivation in cycle I reached 79%, in cycle II 82%, and in cycle III 85%. Analysis of students' learning outcomes after the action in cycle I showed an average score of 62%, after the action in cycle II the average score was 75%, after the action in cycle III the average score was 85%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning (PBL) model assisted by diorama media can improve learning motivation and science learning outcomes for grade III students of UPTD SDN 1 Kedokanbunder Wetan.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of a problem-oriented learning approach (Problem-Based Learning/PBL) on students' critical thinking skills during science lessons in grade V of SDN Nggaro Nangga. The basis of this study stems from the low level of students' critical thinking skills who tend to still rely on lecture and memorization methods. In this study, a quantitative method was applied with an experimental design using a single-group pretest-posttest. The total sample in this study involved 18 students. The instrument used included essay exam questions based on five critical thinking indicators. Data analysis was carried out through a Paired Sample t-Test after conducting validity, reliability, normality, and homogeneity tests. The results of this study showed that there was a striking growth in the average pretest score which increased from 55.6 to 86.1 in the posttest, with a t-value reaching 14.92 and a significance of 0.000 which means less than 0.05. The normality and homogeneity tests also stated that the data distribution was normal and homogeneous. Therefore, the PBL model has been shown to be successful in improving students' critical thinking competencies and can be used as an alternative strategy in science learning based on the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

Science subjects are often challenging for fourth-grade students due to difficult-to-understand delivery methods, lack of student engagement in learning, and less-than-optimal learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the STAD cooperative learning model in improving student learning outcomes. The method used is a quantitative method with a pre-experimental system, with data collection techniques in the form of pre-tests and post-tests. Data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively using learning completeness assessed based on question scores. Before the application of the STAD learning model, students who had not achieved material understanding were 51.71%. After receiving treatment with the STAD learning model, there was a significant increase in understanding of 86.76%. These findings indicate that the application of an appropriate interactive and technology-based learning model can effectively improve student understanding and learning outcomes. Keywords: Cooperative Learning, STAD Type, Elementary School Mata pelajaran IPAS sering kali menjadi tantangan bagi siswa kelas IV karena disebabkan cara penyampaian yang sulit dipahami, kurangnya keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran, dan hasil belajar kurang maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan sistem pre-eksperimen, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes pre-test dan post-test. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan ketuntasan belajar yang dinilai berdasarkan skor soal. Sebelum penerapan model pembelajaran STAD, siswa yang belum mencapai pemahaman materi sebesar 51,71%. Setelah menerima treatment dengan model pembelajaran STAD, terjadi peningkatan pemahaman yang signifikan sebesar 86,76%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran yang interaktif dan berbasis teknologi yang tepat. Dapat efektif meningkatkan pemahaman serta hasil belajar siswa. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine teacher activities in implementing the Hybrid Learning model on the KPK and FPB material, to determine student activities in implementing the Hybrid Learning model on the KPK and FPB material and to determine the use of the Hybrid Learning learning model can improve learning outcomes and students' thinking skills in class on the KPK and FPB material in class IV UPT SPF SD Negeri 101801 Kedai Durian, the hybrid learning model is a combination of face-to-face learning with online learning or e-learning. The form of this research is classroom action research (PTK) which is carried out in 3 cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were class IV UPT SPF SD NEGERI 101801, which consisted of 29 students. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data used was source triangulation and technique triangulation. The data analysis used was interactive analysis. The results of this study can be concluded that through the hybrid learning model, it can improve the learning outcomes of mathematics students in the FPB-KPK material at IV UPT SPF SD NEGERI 101801.

Abstract

The purpose of making this thesis is to determine the effect of the Direct Instruction Model on the Front Roll Movement Skills of Class VII Floor Gymnastics Learning at SMPN 3 Cikarang Utara. To answer the formulation of research problems that have been formulated, the authors use a quantitative approach with experimental methods. This research was conducted at SMPN 3 Cikarang Utara by taking one class as a research sample, namely class VII which amounted to 36 respondents out of 180 class VII students. The sample technique used in this study was purposive sampling. The form of research design uses pre-experimental design with the form of one-group pretest-posttest design. This research instrument uses a test instrument for the ability of basic techniques of floor gymnastics movements, from this study the average before treatment and after treatment has increased significantly, namely floor gymnastics increased from the mean pretest 46.72 to the mean posttest 78.69. Meanwhile, the results of the calculation of the Paired Sample T Test hypothesis testing with the data obtained from this study are a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, meaning that there is a significant influence between the average score before treatment and the average score after treatment. It can be concluded that the direct instruction model can affect the learning of class VII floor gymnastics at SMPN 3 Cikarang Utara.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) on the mathematical communication skills of fourth-grade students in the topic of fractions at SDN Meruya Selatan 03 Pagi. The background of the study highlights students' common difficulties in expressing and understanding mathematical concepts, particularly in fractions, due to conventional teaching methods. To address this issue, the study implemented the PBL model, which emphasizes student-centered learning through real-world problem solving, collaboration, and active discussion. The research used a quasi-experimental design with two groups: an experimental group taught using PBL and a control group taught conventionally. Data were collected through pretest and posttest assessments using essay-type written tests that measured mathematical communication skills. The sample consisted of 64 students, divided equally between the two groups. Data analysis included N-Gain calculation, normality and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results revealed that students in the experimental group achieved a higher N-Gain score (0.55 moderate to high category) compared to the control group (0.23 low category). These findings suggest that the PBL model significantly enhances students' ability to communicate mathematical ideas orally and in writing, understand visual representations, and relate mathematical concepts to real-life situations. Therefore, PBL is recommended as an effective instructional model to improve mathematical communication skills in primary education, especially in the context of teaching fractions.

Abstract

Teachers must incorporate four essential elements in the learning process: the use of models, methods, approaches, and media. This research was motivated by the observation that many educators rely solely on traditional methods such as lectures, question-and-answer sessions, and assignments, without utilizing appropriate learning models and media. As a result, students often experience low science literacy and poor learning outcomes, especially in topics such as plant structure and function. This study aims to examine the effect of the STEAM-based discovery learning model on science literacy and learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN Gadang 4. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pre-test post-test control group. The subjects consisted of two groups: an experimental class and a control class, each comprising 27 students. Research instruments included science literacy and achievement tests administered before and after the treatment. The test items were developed based on specific indicators. Validity was tested using the product moment pearson formula, and reliability was measured using cronbach's alpha. Data analysis included calculating the normalized gain (n-gain), testing data distribution with the shapiro-wilk test, testing variance homogeneity with levene’s test, and examining group differences using independent samples t-test and welch’s t-test. The results indicated that the experimental class achieved significantly higher post-test scores than the control class. This finding demonstrates that the STEAM-based discovery learning model has a significant positive effect on improving students' science literacy and learning outcomes in elementary science education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the ethnomathematics approach to flat shape properties in improving the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students. The research method used is quantitative with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The data collection technique used in this study is a critical thinking skills test with the instrument used being a critical thinking skills test sheet. Data analysis in this study utilized the N-Gain test, assisted by Microsoft Excel to process the obtained data. Based on the critical thinking ability test calculated using the N-Gain formula, the overall average N-Gain was 0.7673, with an N-Gain score of 76.7%. This indicates that students' critical thinking abilities are in the high category, as they fall within the range of G >70. Based on the results of this study, the ethnomathematics approach is effective in improving critical thinking skills in fourth-grade mathematics learning. This study recommends that the ethnomathematics approach be considered more broadly as an innovative strategy in mathematics learning to improve students' critical thinking skills. It is important for teachers to integrate local cultural contexts into teaching materials, creating more relevant and meaningful learning experiences for students. It is hoped that students will become more active in understanding mathematical concepts through their own cultural lens. For future research, it is recommended to expand the scope of the study by exploring variations in ethnomathematics contexts and applying them to different educational levels and materials.
