Abstract

The problem in this study is the low critical thinking skills and reading comprehension skills in the Indonesian language content of fifth grade elementary school students. The solution to this problem is to use the BERGEMA model where this model is a combination of the Problem Based Learning, Student Teams Achievement Division, and Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning models. The purpose of this study is to analyze students' critical thinking skills and reading comprehension skills. This study uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in four meetings. The subjects of this study are 19 fifth grade elementary school students. The results of this study indicate that students' critical thinking skills are implemented up to 85% with the criteria of very skilled and students' reading comprehension skills are implemented up to 89% with the criteria of very skilled.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of audiovisual-assisted recitationactivities in improving memorization skills of students at the Tahfidz Baitul Qur'anBinjai Islamic Boarding School and the obstacles encountered. This researchmethod uses a qualitative approach with field research. The respondents in thisstudy were all 16 male students at the Tahfidz Baitul Qur'an Binjai IslamicBoarding School. The results of this study indicate that audiovisual assistance iseffective in improving memorization skills of students. Audiovisual assistance withradio is very helpful for students to remember quickly, because the stimulus oflistening helps children in improving their memory. Therefore, the author providesconstructive suggestions for future research to conduct research in Islamicboarding schools that have existed for 20 years. Also, the Tahfidz Baitul Qur'anBinjai Islamic Boarding School Foundation can implement jasus (spies) from itsselected students to monitor and report students who commit prohibitions anderrors.

Abstract

Transformational leadership has become a crucial paradigm for driving change inIslamic educational institutions, emphasizing holistic principles that emphasizeinspiration, motivation, intellectual stimulation, and personal development. Itsimplementation in Islamic schools serves as a key motivator in creating a superiorschool culture, focusing not only on academics but also on character development. Abstract

Tujuan penulisan tulisan ilmiah ini adalah untuk mengetahui berkenaan dengan pembinaan kecerdasan emosional anak melalui pembelajaran pendidikan agama Islam di Keluarga. Keluarga adalah lembaga pendidikan pertama dan utama bagi anak manusia. Guru pertama anak manusia adalah ibunya sebab suara pertama yang didengarnya adalah detak jantung ibunya lalu suara yang dikeluarkan ibunya. Kemudian ayah adalah orang yang sangat berperan terhadap kejiwaan anaknya dimasa depan sehingga orangtua mesti harus mampu memberikan pembelajaran yang baik dan benar semenjak dini.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to develop a canva-based snake and ladder numeracy learning media (ultrasi) to improve the learning outcomes of elementary school students, especially in mathematics. This study applies the research and development method (R&D) through the ADDIE development model. The target is class V of UPT SD Negeri Doromukti. Initial data was obtained through pre-test results which showed that only 38.88% or 7 students scored above the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKTP), while 61.11% of other students were still below the KKTP. The canva-based snake and ladder numeracy media (ultrasi) developed by the researcher was validated by 3 validators, with validation results, namely: media experts 92%, material experts 94%, and language experts 98%. Meanwhile, the effectiveness test of the canva-based snake and ladder numeracy media (ultrasi) was measured using the N-Gain formula and experienced an increase of 60% which is included in the fairly effective category. In addition, the results of the practicality test through a questionnaire showed that the canva-based snake and ladder numeracy (ultrasi) media is very feasible to be implemented in the learning process, with the results of the teacher response percentage value of 95.5% and the student response of 96.6%. Based on the results of the percentage, the canva-based snake and ladder numeracy (ultrasi) media can be declared feasible, effective, and practical to be used as an alternative learning media in improving the learning outcomes of Elementary School (SD) students.

Abstract

Speaking skills are one of the essential foundations in language learning, yet many elementary students still struggle when asked to express their ideas orally. This study explores the speaking skills of 4th grade students at SDN Cipondoh 06 Kota Tangerang in Indonesian language learning through storytelling activities. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, oral tests, and documentation, then analyzed with the Miles & Huberman model. The findings reveal that students’ speaking abilities vary widely: most have met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM), especially in pronunciation and expression, while others still face challenges in intonation, vocabulary, and self-confidence. External factors such as family support, teaching strategies, and the social environment were also found to shape students’ performance. The study highlights that storytelling is an effective medium to foster confidence, enrich vocabulary, and improve oral communication. These results are expected to provide insights for teachers in designing more engaging learning strategies and for students in developing communication skills that are crucial for their future.

Abstract

Learning concentration is a crucial aspect that determines students’ success in mastering lessons, particularly in Bahasa Indonesia which requires integrated skills of listening, reading, writing, and speaking. However, not all students are able to maintain consistent focus during classroom activities. This study aims to analyze the forms of learning concentration among fourth-grade students at SDN Semanan 09 Pagi, West Jakarta, and to identify the factors that influence it. A descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method was employed, using observation, interviews, and documentation with the classroom teacher and five students with diverse characteristics. The research instruments covered several concentration indicators, including visual focus, attention, verbal responses, answering ability, willingness to express opinions, and psychomotor responses. The findings reveal variations in students’ concentration levels. Some students demonstrated strong focus through active participation in discussions, asking questions, and showing discipline in taking notes and submitting assignments. In contrast, others were easily distracted, lacked confidence in expressing opinions, and tended to be active only when directed by the teacher. Both internal factors, such as motivation and interest, and external factors, including teaching strategies, learning media, and classroom conditions, were found to influence concentration quality. These findings highlight the importance of teacher creativity in designing interactive learning strategies to encourage students to stay focused, express their thoughts, and become more independent learners.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh munculnya gejala kecemasan belajar yang dialami peserta didik kelas V di SDN 1 Beringin Raya Bandar Lampung, seperti rasa pesimis, takut tampil, kesulitan berkonsentrasi, serta kurang percaya diri. Kondisi ini berpengaruh pada proses pembelajaran dan pencapaian hasil belajar siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses penerapan pendekatan mindfulness dalam pembelajaran serta mengidentifikasi perubahan perilaku peserta didik dalam mengelola kecemasan belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari guru kelas, guru bimbingan dan konseling, serta peserta didik. Kegiatan mindfulness dilakukan menggunakan metode STOP (Stop, Take a breath, Observe, Proceed) yang dilaksanakan secara rutin dalam empat sesi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perubahan positif pada peserta didik setelah penerapan mindfulness, di antaranya peningkatan fokus, munculnya ketenangan, keberanian untuk tampil di depan kelas, serta berkurangnya kecemasan belajar secara bertahap. Selain itu, penerapan mindfulness juga berkontribusi terhadap terciptanya suasana kelas yang lebih kondusif dan mendukung kesiapan mental siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Temuan ini memberikan gambaran bahwa pendekatan mindfulness dapat menjadi salah satu strategi efektif untuk membantu peserta didik mengurangi kecemasan belajar sekaligus mendukung terciptanya lingkungan belajar yang sehat secara psikologis.

Abstract

The problem faced in this study is the low learning outcomes of fifth grade students of MI Islamiyah 01 Madiun City on the material of Changes in the Earth's Surface, which can be seen from the number of students who have not reached the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) at the pre-cycle stage. This condition is caused by the use of conventional learning methods that do not actively involve students, so that understanding of concepts becomes less than optimal. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model supported by Smartbox media in IPAS learning. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (PTK) with the Kemmis & McTaggart model which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 27 fifth grade students. Data collection techniques included learning outcome tests, observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes after the application of the PBL model assisted by Smartbox. In the pre-cycle, student learning completeness only reached 47.42%. After the action in cycle I, the completeness increased to 68.85% with an average posttest score of 67.77 and in cycle 2 student learning outcomes reached 94.94% with an average score of 80.37. This increase shows that the application of the PBL model with Smartbox media is effective in improving students' understanding and learning outcomes. In addition, student activity and participation during learning also increased, so that the learning process became more meaningful and enjoyable. Thus, the PBL model assisted by Smartbox can be used as an alternative learning strategy to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning tool to improve the cultural awareness of fourth-grade elementary school students. The background of this study is the low level of understanding of local cultural diversity, especially in the era of globalization, where the younger generation must have a positive and open attitude towards culture. This study uses a research and development (R&D) method with a modified Borg and Gall model in the following stages: (1) preliminary research, (2) planning, (3) initial product development, (4) limited testing, (5) product modification, and (6) field testing. The research subjects were 40 fourth-grade students at SDN Wanajaya 04 Elementary School in Bekasi Regency. Data collection instruments included interviews, observations, questionnaires, and comprehension tests. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed that the Dodo Cinta Budaya comic media met the feasibility criteria of subject matter experts (97%), media experts (96%), and student responses (100%) with a category of highly feasible. The effectiveness test showed a significant increase in students' cultural awareness comprehension scores. This comic book is expected to be an alternative in IPAS and Multicultural Education learning in elementary schools.
