Abstract

The nature of young learners differs from that of teenagers and adults, necessitating their teachers’ use of specific tactics to stimulate their motivation to acquire English proficiency effectively. The Aksi Inspirasi Indonesia community in Yogyakarta witnessed the manifestation of motivated behaviors in youngsters, including heightened attention and active engagement in learning. Hence, this research aims to delineate the motivational tactics English instructors employ in the Aksi Inspirasi Indonesia community when instructing young learners. The study employs a qualitative methodology, with case studies as its primary technique. Data collection involves the utilization of observation, interviews, and documentation. Research findings indicate that two tutors from the Aksi Inspirasi Indonesia community employ four characteristics of motivational methods in their English instruction, as proposed by Dörnyei. They establish fundamental motivational circumstances, provide initial drive, sustain and safeguard motivation, and promote positive reflective self-assessment. These tactics are utilized in learning to address, maintain, and enhance their motivation.

Abstract

This research aimed to explain, analyze, and interpret the factors affecting the reading literacy skills of the fifth-grade students. This research used a mixed methods study. Data collection was carried out by direct observations, interviews, and minimum competency tests. In addition, the data analysis methods used in this research were data reduction, data presentation, and verification/conclusion. The results showed that reading literacy was influenced by internal factors (low intelligence ability, low interest in learning, and low learning motivation) and external factors (lack of parental attention, influence of TV and cell phones, influence of playmates, lack of teacher ability, and limited facilities and infrastructure). Efforts that can be made to overcome students' low reading literacy skills include providing motivation, literacy activities, increasing teacher abilities, exceptional guidance, collaboration with parents, and utilization of infrastructure.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the ecopreneurship model in increasing environmental awareness among midwifery students. The research method was quasi-experimental, with a control group design using midwifery students as research subjects. The research stages include applying the ecopreneurship model in the learning process in the lecture hall, as well as measuring the level of knowledge before and after. A valid and reliable survey instrument was used to collect data regarding student perceptions and attitudes towards the environment. The data analysis results show that applying the ecopreneurship model significantly increases environmental knowledge and awareness among midwifery students. Previously, students tended to have a limited understanding of environmental issues and their relevance in the context of entrepreneurship education. However, after learning about the ecopreneurship model, there was a real increase in students' understanding, attitudes, and involvement towards environmental issues.

Abstract

This research examines the role of learning interest in students' mathematical literacy in the mathematical economics course. This research was carried out at a private college. The instruments included questionnaires and tests. The data analysis techniques used were the Pearson correlation, regression, and ANOVA tests. The research results show that interest in learning significantly affects students' mathematical literacy in the mathematical economics course. Apart from that, there is a significant difference in the average value of mathematical literacy between students in the low, moderate, and high learning interest categories. Students with a low interest in learning have significant differences in mathematical literacy from students with a high interest in learning. Students with a moderate interest in learning have significant differences in mathematical literacy from students with a high interest in learning. Meanwhile, students with low interest in learning do not significantly differ in mathematical literacy from those with moderate interest in learning.

Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing student well-being in middle and high schools, focusing on school climate, classroom, and creativity. Utilizing a quantitative research design, data were collected from 600 students using three validated scales: the multidimensional school climate questionnaire, the creativity scale, and the well-being scale. Descriptive and regression analyses reveal a positive school climate and innovative classroom practices significantly enhance student creativity and well-being. Furthermore, creativity mediates the relationship between schools’ role and student well-being, indicating that the positive effects of a supportive school environment on well-being are primarily due to increased creativity. These findings underscore the importance of fostering a supportive and engaging educational environment to promote students' creativity and well-being. The study's results offer valuable insights for educators and policymakers in developing targeted interventions to enhance student creativity and well-being.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a valid, practical, and effective problem-based learning-based managerial competency improvement training model for Islamic boarding school administrators. This research and development (R&D) research was developed using the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments were interview sheets, needs analysis questionnaires, validity questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, and test instruments. The results showed that the validity test of the developed training model was in the valid category, with an average score of 0.91. The average scores of the practicality test given by the instructor and training participants were 90.00% and 90.72%, respectively, in the efficient category. The results of training activities showed an increase in the average test score of 40.77 points, with a moderate increase criterion. The effectiveness test with the N-Gain formula scored 0.65, with a fairly effective category. Additionally, the conclusion was that the problem-based learning-based managerial competency improvement training model for Islamic boarding school administrators is valid, practical, and quite effective.

Abstract

This research analyzes how the quality of education services influences student satisfaction, image, and loyalty. All respondents are students of a public senior high school Sumatera Selatan. Student satisfaction is a preference in the subjective evaluation of the entire experience associated with the educational process. Image means the perception of the service provided to the student, consisting of cognitive and communicative perceptions. Loyal students can positively impact learning quality through participation and committed behaviour. In this research, a quantitative method was utilized. The method used was quantitative, with data collection techniques using a questionnaire instrument filled in directly by respondents online and processed using the SEM PLS. The variables of academic and non-academic aspects had a positive but insignificant effect on student satisfaction. On the other hand, program issues, reputation, and access positively and significantly affected student satisfaction. The relationship between the quality of school education services, student satisfaction, school image, and student loyalty, among others, is important to clarify the limitations of this research and serve as a guide for future research.

Abstract

This research explored the necessity of a systematic approach to fostering a sustainable literacy culture in elementary schools. It developed a Quality Management System (QMS) to cultivate school literacy culture and enhance sustainable literacy quality. This research and development (R&D) used the PDCA model to develop an elementary school literacy program quality management system model. During the analysis stage, the researchers surveyed to assess and gauge the effectiveness of the previous program’s implementation. The design phase involved a literature review and analysis of survey results, referring to literature, and consulting experts. The findings indicated that implementing the QMS model significantly aids primary schools in achieving a sustainable literacy culture. This research’s primary contribution lied in the QMS model, offering a structured framework for elementary schools to enhance sustainability literacy. This model contributes to theoretical understanding and practically supports the ongoing development of a strong, effective literacy culture in primary education settings.

Abstract

Teachers' learning performance can be improved through the principal's supervision by implementing several strategies and supporting tools. One of the strategies in learning supervision can be carried out through digital-based Professional Learning Communication (PLC) activities. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of learning supervision in improving teacher learning performance through digital-based PLC activities, using a quantitative method with a multiple-regression research design. The results showed that the adjusted R2 (determination coefficient) was 0.934, meaning that the supervision activity of digital-based PLC (X1), and the supervision outcome activity of digital-based PLC (X2) contributed 93.4%, to the improving the learning performance of high school teachers (Y), while the remaining 6.6% explained by other factors that are not described in this study. The result of F (418.635) > F-table (3.91) and the significance value of P = 0.001 < α 0.05, means that the test model is feasible. In other words, there is a significant simultaneous influence of both variables on the improvement of high school teachers' learning performance (Y).
