Abstract

This research aimed to analyze computational thinking skills from the perspective of students' self-confidence in mathematics learning, employing a qualitative approach and a case study method. The subjects of this research consisted of thirty-five students from tenth grade, selected based on self-confidence—categorized as high, moderate, and low. Data collection techniques included a computational thinking skills test focused on systems of linear equations in two variables, a self-confidence questionnaire, and interviews. The findings reveal that students with high self-confidence demonstrated the ability to meet all indicators of computational thinking skills. In contrast, students with moderate self-confidence could only fulfill two indicators—decomposition and algorithmic thinking—indicating that they struggled with pattern recognition and abstraction. Meanwhile, students with low self-confidence exhibited limited computational thinking skills, with some meeting only the decomposition indicator and others failing to meet any expected indicators.
Revisiting Washback Inquiries in Indonesia Puspitasari, Maya

Abstract

This research revisits the washback concept in Indonesia’s education system, specifically focusing on the impact of national standardized tests on teaching and learning practices. In Indonesia, high-stakes testing, such as the national examination, has been used to assess educational quality, often influencing curriculum design, teaching methods, and student motivation. The research highlights how such examinations can narrow the curriculum, encourage teaching to the test, and place undue pressure on stakeholders, including teachers and students. Drawing from research conducted in Indonesia and globally, the research also discusses the need for further investigations to develop assessment models that promote positive washback effects. This shift opens opportunities for rethinking assessments that support holistic learning and skill development. The research concludes by emphasizing the importance of well-designed assessments in fostering positive educational outcomes and improving the quality of education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze teachers' perceptions of the integration of the Kasepuhan local wisdom into school curricula. Using a survey method, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to schoolteachers to evaluate their knowledge of the Kasepuhan cultural values, the extent of integrating these values into teaching practices, and the challenges encountered in implementing local wisdom-based education. The study also examined curriculum development, assessments, teacher competence, teaching materials, learning media, and community involvement. The results revealed that while 35% of teachers know Kasepuhan values, only 13.33% believe these values are applied in schools. A significant number (40%) indicated the need for curriculum adjustments to reflect local culture better, while 70% reported that local wisdom-based assessment criteria had not been optimally implemented. Furthermore, the study concludes that although teachers recognize the importance of integrating Kasepuhan wisdom, challenges such as insufficient resources, lack of training, and limited school facilities hinder its implementation.

Abstract

This research aimed to find the interaction of entrepreneurship education, family, and outside-the-family environment on the attitudes and entrepreneurial interests of 356 students who have passed the entrepreneurship course. This research is essential because there is a large gap between registered job seekers with undergraduate degrees and those with job placements. The sampling technique used was the quota sampling method. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the structural equation modeling method. The results showed that entrepreneurship education does not significantly affect attitudes but affects entrepreneurial interest. The family environment influences attitudes and interest in entrepreneurship, and the environment outside the family does not significantly affect interest only if moderated by entrepreneurial attitudes. Indirect influence is more dominant than other variable interactions. The learning model requires collaboration between the campus and the business ecosystem where students interact.

Abstract

This paper is a literature review that aims to explore the optimization of learning based on local wisdom through the use of digital media in learning. In the increasingly developing digital era, the preservation of local culture faces great challenges in the midst of global information dominance. This literature review discusses optimizing learning based on local wisdom by using digital media to improve the quality of education The method used in this study is Narrative Literature Review (NLR). The literature studied shows that the use of technology in learning local wisdom is able to increase student engagement, deepen cultural understanding, and strengthen local identity among the younger generation. The technology media used include e-modules, AR, VR, Animation Videos and websites. This study concludes that learning technology media has great potential in integrating local arigan into education. As long as it is carried out in a planned and thorough manner.

Abstract

Effective English for Specific Purposes (ESP) programs adapted to pharmacy education are necessary, as evidenced by the growing importance of English in the worldwide pharmaceutical business. The pedagogical trends, difficulties, and best practices in teaching English for pharmacy during the past ten years (2014–2024) are examined in this comprehensive literature review. The review reveals significant topics by examining 14 studies from international databases, including curriculum development, pedagogical innovations, student perspectives, and English usage and needs analysis. The results indicate significant deficiencies in pharmacy professionals’ technical vocabulary, oral communication, and scientific writing abilities, which impede their success in school and the workplace. This study aims to improve pharmacy graduates' communication skills in a field that is becoming increasingly globalized by serving as a roadmap for future research and curriculum design.

Abstract

This research examines the relationship between transformational leadership and academic service quality in higher education. This research adopts a quantitative descriptive research method. There were 506 research samples consisting of the head of the study program, lecturers, staff, and students taken from six regional campuses of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, where they were enrolled in the study program for Primary Teacher Education. Primary data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire. Data analysis conducted in this research used the SPSS 24.00 application, which consists of descriptive data analysis, correlation analysis, ANOVA analysis, and regression evaluation. The findings revealed a positive and significant relationship between the nature of the transformational leadership model and the quality of academic services. This research finds further support for the relationship between transformational leadership models and the quality of academic services in higher education.

Abstract

This research aims to explore perception of students’ technology readiness in integrating instructional design based Augmented Reality (AR). This research was qualitative research. The technique of collecting data used interview technique. The sample of this research was 17 students who have used augmented reality in learning in English Education Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Muara Bungo. The technique of data analysis used thematic analysis. Researchers used MAXQDA 24 software to analyze qualitative data. The findings showed that four positive and two negative perceptions of integrating AR. Positive perceptions include optimism, innovation, perceived usefulness, and ease of use. Students believe AR enhances English instruction and transforms teaching in a digital era. It also helps develop technical skills through user-friendly tools and pre-built assets, enabling content creation without advanced programming. Negative perceptions include discomfort and insecurity in AR use. Discomfort arises from technical issues like scanning difficulties, device overheating, image freezes, internet dependency, hardware limitations, high data consumption, and app instability. Insecurity stems from limited technical skills and challenges in conceptualizing AR designs.

Abstract

This research was development research (R&D) with the ADDIE model that aimed to design and develop learning media using iSpring Suite 9 for grade IV elementary school students, especially in science and social studies. In addition, this research also aims to test the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed media. This research used test and non-test techniques, which included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The validity test results showed that Keratara learning media obtained a score of 92% from media experts based on appearance, usage, and usefulness. Meanwhile, the material validation, which included aspects of accuracy with the material, suitability for the thinking ability of students, support for learning content, and achievement of learning objectives, received a score of 95%. Therefore, the findings indicated that the iSpring Suite 9-based interactive learning media developed is valid and effective in supporting elementary school students’ learning process and improving their learning outcomes.
