Abstract

Often, the people around him view a person's orientation negatively. Lesbian sexual orientation is one of the sexual orientations that usually receives a negative stigma, which can influence the self-perception of the individual concerned. This research aims to find out how the self-concept of LGBT individuals is currently widespread in society. The research sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique with the criteria that the subjects were LGBT individuals, especially female athletes who had a lesbian sexual orientation aged 20-23 years and lived in Sidoarjo. The number of samples used in this research consists of 2 research subjects and two significant others to validate information from research subjects. This research uses triangulation methods with the data analysis technique used in this research, namely, descriptive analysis techniques and flow models. The results showed that both subjects had a negative self-concept picture. This is demonstrated by rejection of self-acceptance, negative thoughts about oneself, lack of definite goals and direction in life, and poor relationships with family. It's just that the second subject has differences in the goals and direction of a good life.

Abstract

Smartphones have made the internet available at our fingertips. More children around the world are born mobile, especially kids born after 2015 (Gen Alpha). This naturally raises questions about the overuse and addictive use of smartphones, which can be counterproductive to their development. The COVID induced lockdown has robbed children of other means of entertainment and combined with the easy access to smartphones due to the online classes, the overuse of smartphones is a concept of great concern to parents. An online survey was conducted in India among parents about smartphone children. The pa parents also filled out a self-constructed questionnaire to find the levels of smartphone addiction in their children. One thousand three hundred thirty people participated in the study, and their responses were used to analyze the various factors contributing to smartphone overuse. The amount of time spent on smartphones has increased exponentially during the COVID-19-induced lockdown, with 14.7% of children spending 5 - 6 hrs per day and a small percentage of children (3.3%) paying more than 9 hrs per day. Children who own a smartphone and adolescent children have higher scores on the smartphone addiction scale. Parents are worried about the increased amount of time spent on smartphones by children of all ages and their inability to regulate it due to the lockdown-induced restrictions. They are particularly concerned about its long-term effects on their children’s physical, social, and psychological health.

Abstract

This article aims to present the research results on the analysis of the mental health of vegetable farmers in terms of coping with stress. The condition of crop failure is something that all farmers do not expect, but this condition cannot be predicted because it depends on natural factors. One of the stresses that arise when a crop failure occurs is disappointment, lack of financial capital, feeling a heavy burden, and harboring many desires that cannot be realized. This research used a mixed-method approach (quantitative and qualitative). The research sample consisted of 25 productive farmers in a Talang Lahat Curup Bengkulu Village farmer group. The results showed that coping stress was positively correlated and tended to be high (r(25)=0.515; p<0.008) with the mental health of vegetable farmers. The simple linear regression test shows that the model is known to be suitable in explaining the data (F(1, 23)=8.321; p<0.008; R2=0.266). This means that coping with stress can explain 26.6% of the mental condition of vegetable farmers who experience crop failure. Farmers who fail to harvest can survive due to several factors, one of which is the religious attitude of praying and continuing to try to be one of the main things in the life of vegetable farmers so that they remain mentally healthy in the face of unwanted conditions. The dominant stress-coping component is problem-focused, oriented to the subject matter, and tends to solve the problem immediately.

Abstract

The family is the most miniature society system bound to change. Changes in the family structure, such as the loss of a family member, can never be predicted. In adolescents, family is the primary source of support in fulfilling developmental tasks and ensuring their well-being. Adolescents who experience changes in family structure, especially adolescents whose parents have died, become vulnerable to various kinds of problems. In this study, an analysis was carried out regarding how adolescents interpret the function of their family after the parental loss. This research was conducted using a qualitative method through a phenomenological approach. Data was collected through image assessment and semi-structured interviews, which were analyzed using interpinterpretive phenomenological analysis techniques. The data processing results show three superordinate themes from the subject's meaning related to her family function, which include family identity, parenting style, and "I'm lonely." Changes in family structure affect how caregivers apply the roles of each family member and parenting style. A significant difference from how her family previously functioned made adjusting difficult for the subject, so she faced many problems. Experiencing parental loss with no support from family members makes her feel lonely.

Abstract

Several previous studies suggested that personality factors influence corrupt behavior (Abidin and Siswadi, 2015), Zhao et al. (2016). A survey by Matulessy et al. (2021) and research by Putri and Rahayu (2021) found that dark personality (Paulhus and Williams, 2002) is a factor that can influence corrupt behavior. The last two studies used civil servants and the private sector as research subjects. This research aims to determine the relationship between students' dark personality or dark triad personality and students' anti-corruption perceptions. This research involved 125 respondents who were students at the Unjaya Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences and were selected using a non-random sampling method. The data collection tool in this research was the Dark Triad Personality Scale. Adapted from the Jones and Paulhus Short Dark Triad (SD3) measurement instrument and has a coefficient valueCronbach alpha of .820, according to Hasanati & Istiqomah (2018), with a coefficient value Back alpha of .960. The findings show a relationship between dark triad personality and student anti-corruption attitudes. The correlation coefficient (correlation Pearson) is .220, and the significance level is .000. The correlation coefficient is more significant than .05 (p < .05), and the one-sided significance level is less than .05 (p < .05). Therefore, this relationship is considered vital.

Indonesia Emas 2045 is a challenge for the younger generation to contribute as a future leader. Student organizations are one of the forums for building leadership in students. This study aims to determine the moderating role of age in social support and members of student organizations’ leadership in Yogyakarta. The subjects were 223 members of student organizations, a minimum of 2 months as a member. Sampling was gathered using the convenience sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using the Human Capital Sustainability Leadership (HSCL) scale and the Social Support Scale of the Online Community. Data analysis was conducted using Jamovi statistical software. The moderation analysis results showed that age significantly affects sustainability leadership (Estimation = 0.5814, SE = 0.24265, CI = [0.1059, 1.0570], Z = 2.40, p = 0.017). The older a person is, the higher the likelihood of having highly sustainable leadership. In addition, the interaction between social support and age also proved significant in sustainability leadership (Estimation = 0.0455, SE = 0.00495, CI = [0.0358, 0.0552], Z = 9.20, p < 0.001). That is, the effect of social support on sustainability leadership differs at different levels of individual age.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder that arises from vulnerability or predisposition to developmental disorders and is also usually genetic. In overcoming paranoid schizophrenia, it can be done with art therapy. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of art therapy to increase self-esteem in paranoid schizophrenia patients. The research subject was a patient of "X" Mental Hospital in Central Java with paranoid schizophrenia disorder aged 48 years male, who showed a decrease in self-esteem after being discharged from the hospital. The data collection methods used were observation, interviews, and psychological tests. Psychological tests were given to the subject in the form of cognitive tests, namely SPM (Standard Progressive Matrices), Graphic test, Wartegg test, SSCT test (Sack's Sentence Completion Test), and DASS test (Depression Anxiety Stress Scales). This study used one research subject with a single case Pre-test Post-test Design. Researchers use art therapy to explore the subject's unconsciousness to the surface. In the end, the subject realized what was happening to him with the catharsis process and formed thoughts and feelings that were difficult to express. This helps the subject reduce the tension felt and increases self-esteem. Art therapy is given individually for five meetings. The results showed that the effectiveness of art therapy boosted self-esteem in paranoid schizophrenia patients. After being given the intervention, the subject showed changes from before and after being given the intervention. The subject realized that there were some things that he could not control. The subject also learned that there would be a way out from all the trials and events, even though it took time, so the subject began to open up to others, especially his wife.

Abstract

This study provides a bibliometric review of research on anxiety treatment based on Islamic perspectives, which involves a systematic search in various Scopus databases visualized with VOSviewer, then analyzed and evaluated based on country bibliographic pairs, institution bibliographic pairs, journal bibliographic pairs, and co-occurrence of author/topic keywords. A total of 357 relevant studies were then analyzed and selected following the criteria of studies in the last ten years (2014-2024). The statistical analysis was applied to examine the bibliometric data produced through the investigation, identification, and extraction procedures. The results showed that the United States (based on country bibliography pairs), Department of Psychology (based on agency bibliography pairs), and Frontiers in Psychology (based on journal bibliography pairs) became the most influential in the discussion of anxiety and how to handle it from an Islamic perspective. Anxiety, religion, and depression are keywords that often appear in this field.
