Abstract

This study aims to reveal the beauty of language in the short story I'tirāf Rujūliy by Nawal al-Sa'dawi using stylistics performed by Syihabuddin Qalyubi. This research is a literature research with a descriptive method and qualitative approaches. Data collection using the listen method with recording techniques, analysis using the intralingual padan method, Syihabuddin Qalyubi's stylistic theory, and research results are delivered informally. The result of this study is that the style of i'tirāf rujūliy's short story contains beauty that extends to all aspects of linguistics. At the phonological level, it is found that the use of long repetition of vowel sounds. At the morphological level is found the selection of patterned word forms fā'ala-yufā'ilu, ṣīgah mubālagah, and the transfer of forms from ism al-fāil to maṣdar and from fi'il al-muḍāri' to fi'il al-māḍī. At the syntactic level, repetition and sentence structure patterns are found that investigate the rules of origin. At the semantic level, there is the use of absorptive language and synonyms. While at the level of imagery, there is the use of majzāz and tasybīh. All the styles in I'tirāf Rujūliy's short story as a whole show Nawal al-Sa'dawa's ideas about feminism, especially rejecting the cultural constructs made by patriarchy.

Abstract

Knowledge Sharf is widely taught in schools and Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia, one of the many learning sciences Sharf located in the city of Martapura in Ma'had Bakkah Martapura, South Kalimantan. Ma'had Bakkah focuses on the Tahfizul Qur'an, in which students must memorize the Quran and there is MTs Al-Irsyad Tengaran 8. Researchers have conducted interviews with Faisal Abdurrahim, Principal of MTs Al-Irsyad Tengaran 8 and Muhammad Hafidz Anshari, teacher Sharf grade 9 found learning problems Sharf to the students. This field research applies qualitative research with the case study method, the source of data collected through 3 ways: observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were students from public elementary school graduates who had memorized 3 chapters of the Quran and Sharf teachers who had taught for 5 years at MTs Al-Irsyad Tengaran 8 Ma'had Bakkah and the object of this research was learning problems Sharf is tashrif al-af’al on book kitab al-tashrif from volume 1, 2, 3. The results of this study are: 1) Learning Sharf and its components. The goal is that students can change words with tashrif. The material focuses on the Book of Al-Tashrif. The media used are books, blackboards, and markers. The method used MethodAl-Sam’iyyah Al-Syafahiyyah. Evaluation includes evaluation of learning outcomes and evaluation of the learning process. 2) There are 23 learning problems for students at this Islamic junior high school.

Abstract

Many studies show a strong relationship between teaching methods and student learning outcomes. For example, two well-known methods used to teach Arabic books in the Indonesian Pesantren are Bandongan and Sorogan. However, teaching grammar at Pesantren Dār al Falāh Semaranguses a different small group discussion method. This research seeks to examine the effectiveness of its application. This is field research using observation, interviews, and documentation. Triangulation of sources, methods, and extended times have been relied on to verify the authenticity of the data. We concluded that the application of the small group discussion was in the stages of preparation, process, and evaluation. Nevertheless, the application of this method for teaching grammar has more advantages than shortcomings, and it is fit to be used. The helpful factors are the teacher's excellent preparation, students' willingness to study the subject they will discuss within the classroom, their enthusiasm in the discussion, and the teacher's explanation at the end of the class to strengthen the understanding of the students. The obstacles are limited academic time, and the presence of students who do not have sufficient knowledge of the subject studied, leading to their lack of participation in the discussion.

Abstract

This research aims to understand strategies and techniques for teaching Arabic that a teacher can apply to learn Arabic using the language immersion method. Using this method, students can learn languages by interacting directly with the language environment in which they will learn them to learn how to speak, read, write, or listen directly. By collecting data from articles that discuss language immersion in language learning, researchers use a type of qualitative research with the nature of library studies that use books and scientific works as the object of study, which are then analyzed descriptively to produce a clear, systematic, objective, analytical, and critical discussion of strategies and techniques for teaching Arabic using language immersion. The results of the literature analysis show that strategies and techniques for teaching Arabic using the language immersion method effectively improve students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. The key aspects of this method are the focus on active conversation, speaking practice, intensive listening exposure, reading and understanding of Arabic texts, and writing activities.

Abstract

Research on uslub Al Hākim in the Quran aims to understand and analyze the effective and appropriate methods of conveying the Quran's messages. The Quran is a comprehensive guide to life and contains many language styles. Studying the wise style helps extract wisdom and lessons from the Quranic verses and understand its communication strategies. Effectively conveying the Quran in the letters Al-Baqorah, Ali Imran, Al-Māidah, Al-An'ām, Al-A'rāf, Al-Anfāl, Yūsuf, Al-Ra'ad, Al-Isrā', messages requires understanding language styles and choosing the appropriate words. The research aims to identify and classify verses with wise styles based on their form, topic, and meaning. The research methodology used is qualitative descriptive and content analysis. The researcher relies on the verses of the Quran as the primary data source and utilizes other reference sources. The wise style involves addressing the audience with an unexpected meaning and responding to a question with something other than what was expected. It relies on three pillars: the addressed, the addressing, responding with the unexpected, and considering the addressee's priority. It aims to raise awareness about important matters or shift the conversation to another topic.

Abstract

This conceptual overview comprehensively explores the seamless blending of behavioristic and cognitivistic theories within the Arabic language curriculum. It thoroughly explores behaviourism's and cognitivism's theoretical underpinnings, explaining how each has contributed differently to the complex language learning process. The focus behaviourism places on visible behaviour and outside cues are essential to creating vocabulary drills, structured activities, and reinforcement strategies. Conversely, cognitivism emphasizes the learner's mental processes and encourages active participation through assignments requiring problem-solving, comprehension exercises, and critical thinking. By exploring efficacious pedagogical approaches derived from these fundamental beliefs, instructors can enhance students' competency in Arabic. The essay emphasizes how teachers can skillfully combine behavioristic and cognitivistic ideas, drawing on their advantages to create a well-rounded and comprehensive language learning program. This methodology upholds inclusivity and attends to a range of learning styles and personal preferences, thereby enhancing language learning and cultivating a more profound understanding of Arab culture among students inside and outside the Arab world.Keywords: Arabic learning, behaviorism, cognitivism, language curriculum, integration

Abstract

The application of the direct method has become the identity of Arabic learning at Modern Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor. For non-Arabic speakers, learning Arabic using Arabic as the learning destination language and without translating it into the mother tongue. The difficulty and lack of knowledge about Arabic surround the feelings of new students in learning it. The purpose of this research is to assess the efficacy of direct method implementation in Arabic language learning at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri Campus 1. This research method uses quantitative experimental methods by holding a pre-test followed by direct method treatment to respondents and ending with a post-test trial. Population from the entire grade 1 study at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor 2023. The sampling technique uses random sampling with a total sample of 43 students. The results of this study aim to determine the effectiveness of the direct method in learning Arabic. Based on the result of the research conducted, there was an increase of 10,47% in post-test assessment after being given direct method treatment. There was an increase in the average pre-test from (6.95) to (8.42) in the post-test score. The results of the hypothesis test show that the significance value is 0.00 where if the value is below 0.05 then there is an effectiveness of the direct method in learning Arabic. On the other hand, Santriwati is very responsive and enthusiastic in learning Arabic using the direct method because some of them like (76.7%) to learn using the direct method than those who do not like (23.3%). From this, it can be concluded that the role of professional teachers armed with knowledge and practice greatly influences the success of the implementation of direct methods in teaching Arabic.

Abstract

The creativity of educators in managing and developing learning media is improving, especially during the pandemic, where the necessity of online learning must be carried out. Even as the pandemic is gradually being controlled, learning media development continues. For instance, developing the Learning Management System (LMS) for listening skills in Arabic language learning, particularly Maharah Istima', is a crucial and fundamental language acquisition skill. This research aims to determine suitable criteria for Istima' learning media and the development of the LMS At-Talkhis Li Al-Istima'. This research utilizes the Research and Development approach, employing the Waterfall model consisting of the following stages: analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. In the analysis stage, a series of analyses is conducted regarding the criteria used for Istima' learning. Subsequently, the design of the LMS AT-Talkhis Li Al-Istima' is developed, followed by the utilization of the media and feasibility testing carried out by media experts, subject matter experts, and students. The results of this research are the criteria for determining Istima' learning media, considering the curriculum, media, and content aspects. Meanwhile, the LMS AT-Talkhis Li Al-Istima' is a portable document file (PDF) that is integrated with links to relevant media, materials, assignments, or websites. The feasibility of the LMS At-Talkhis Li Al-Istima', both in terms of media quality and usability, meets the criteria for being good.

Abstract

Arabic as a foreign language in its learning often encounters problems. For example, in the aspect of listening skills. To solve these problems, concrete efforts are needed through the development of learning tools or media that can support this difficult Arabic language learning process. This research belongs to the type of Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model with 5 stages, namely the process to analyze, design products, develop products, test processes, and development evaluation processes.  The result of the research is the presence of a learning media product for android-based Arabic language in learning listening skills that can be operated on smartphones for students in grade VIII SMP / MTs. This product has a qualified level of feasibility to be used in learning activities with the results of the feasibility test of 2 types of validation. Namely validation with material expert validators and media expert validators by obtaining an average percentage value of 95% by material experts 95.55% by media experts or in "very feasible" criteria. The results of the assessment of students' responses through the medium group trial obtained 85.57% "very interesting", the large group obtained an assessment of 85.16% with the criteria "very interesting". So the results obtained that the product developed in the study in the form of learning media for listening skills with an android base for students in grade VIII SMP/MTs is very feasible and can be utilized in facilitating Arabic teaching and learning activities, especially aspects of listening skills.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology and communication based on the internet in this modern era has affected various aspects of human life, including the education world. The presence of internet developments in the education world has provided an alternative to the use of weblog-based electronic learning media (e-learning), which can be utilized in web-enhanced course models. This study used a research and development model adopted from Sugiyono's theories in 5 steps, namely: (1) Potential and Problems), (2) Data Collection, (3) Design, (4) Design Validation, and (5) Production. Research and development are based on the minimal use of e-learning media in the learning and teaching process. The research data was taken from 37 students of Hasyim Asy'ari Jombang University. The results of the research are in the form of weblog-based e-learning media products to support web-based learning models, which can be accessed on the website page https://daurohbahasa.blogspot.com/. The results of design validation from material experts included: the content aspect obtained an average score of 86% (very good), the language aspect received an average score of 80% (good), and the presentation aspect obtained an average score of 88.88% (very good). Design validation from media technology experts includes software engineering aspects getting an average score of 82.22% (very good), communication aspects getting an average score of 82.50% (very good), and visual aspects getting an average score of 78.88% (good). The production of this media development is then applied to learning Arabic language education. Based on the assessment of experts, this weblog-based electronic media product can be used in a web-enhanced course model.
