Abstract

The problem of household organic waste remains a significant environmental issue in the Lembar region of West Lombok, particularly in Dasan Griya Village, West Lombok. This is characterized by low public awareness of waste management and minimal knowledge and skills in processing organic waste into products with higher economic value. This activity was carried out with the aim of increasing the motivation, knowledge and skills of the community in processing kitchen waste into ecoenzyme liquid soap. Socialization activities were carried out using lecture, discussion, demonstration and practice methods with housewives and teenagers as participants, facilitated by the local government. The results showed that the participants were very enthusiastic, and the knowledge and skills of most participants regarding processing kitchen waste into ecoenzyme liquid soap increased. The activity material absorbed by the participants includes a sustainable community-based waste management system and the fermentation-based kitchen waste processing into ecoenzyme products with high economic value.The participants expressed their readiness to further practice processing kitchen waste into ecoenzyme soap products at home.

Abstract

Diare masih menjadi salah satu penyebab utama morbiditas dan mortalitas pada balita, terutama akibat komplikasi dehidrasi. Rendahnya pengetahuan ibu mengenai penatalaksanaan diare yang tepat, penggunaan oralit dan zinc, serta pengenalan tanda bahaya menjadi faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap tingginya risiko komplikasi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ibu balita dalam penatalaksanaan diare dan pencegahan dehidrasi melalui edukasi kesehatan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret 2026 di UPT Puskesmas Teladan, Kelurahan Teladan Barat, Kota Medan, dengan melibatkan 35 ibu balita sebagai peserta. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan interaktif, demonstrasi pembuatan oralit, simulasi identifikasi tanda dehidrasi, serta evaluasi menggunakan desain pre-test dan post-test. Media edukasi yang digunakan berupa presentasi, leaflet, dan booklet. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata skor pengetahuan peserta dari 58,6 ± 12,4 pada pre-test menjadi 84,7 ± 9,8 pada post-test. Sebanyak 88,6% peserta mampu menjelaskan tanda-tanda dehidrasi dan 91,4% peserta mampu menyiapkan oralit dengan benar setelah kegiatan. Kegiatan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi kesehatan ibu balita terkait penatalaksanaan diare dan pencegahan dehidrasi. Program edukasi kesehatan secara berkelanjutan perlu dilakukan melalui kolaborasi dengan kader posyandu dan puskesmas untuk meningkatkan kemampuan keluarga dalam penanganan awal diare pada balita.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan tema “Sosialisasi dan Pelatihan Transplantasi Karang” telah dilaksanakan pada Jumat, 5 September 2025, di pesisir Pantai Sire, Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan keterampilan masyarakat pesisir dalam menjaga ekosistem terumbu karang melalui penerapan teknologi transplantasi karang yang sederhana, murah, dan ramah lingkungan. Program dilaksanakan secara partisipatif melalui dua sesi utama, yaitu penyampaian materi melalui ceramah dan diskusi interaktif mengenai ekologi terumbu karang dan teknik rehabilitasi habitat, serta demonstrasi dan praktik langsung transplantasi karang menggunakan rak besi sebagai media tanam yang melibatkan seluruh peserta secara aktif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan respons positif dan antusiasme tinggi dari peserta, yang tercermin dari keterlibatan aktif dalam diskusi serta munculnya ide-ide baru dalam pengelolaan kawasan pesisir ke depan. Selain memberikan manfaat ekologis, kegiatan ini juga membuka peluang peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat melalui pengembangan wisata bahari. Rencana tindak lanjut meliputi monitoring pertumbuhan karang hasil transplantasi, pelatihan lanjutan, pembentukan kelompok masyarakat peduli lingkungan, dan penerapan inovasi berkelanjutan. Diharapkan kegiatan ini dapat menjadi langkah awal yang berkelanjutan dalam mendorong partisipasi masyarakat dan pemangku kepentingan lokal untuk bersama-sama mendukung upaya konservasi dan rehabilitasi ekosistem terumbu karang di kawasan pesisir Lombok Utara.

Abstract

Abstract: Coastal areas have considerable potential to support community-based food product innovation, particularly through the utilization of local fishery resources. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and practical skills of POKDARWIS Bagek Kembar in processing crab into a value-added food product, namely crispy pressure-cooked crab. The activity was carried out in Bagek Kembar Ecotourism Area, Cendi Manik Village, Sekotong District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, from July to September 2025. The program involved preliminary identification, partner needs assessment, counseling, demonstration, and hands-on training. A total of 15 participants joined the training. The material covered raw material preparation, crab cleaning, basic food hygiene, pressure-cooking technique, seasoning, flour coating, and frying process to produce a crispy texture. The results showed that the participants were actively involved in discussions and practical sessions and were able to follow the main stages of crispy pressure-cooked crab processing. This activity introduced a simple and applicable processing technique that can potentially support local culinary diversification in the ecotourism area. Further assistance is needed, particularly in product standardization, food safety, packaging, marketing, and business feasibility analysis.

Abstract

To enhance community preparedness against flooding, it is necessary to disseminate information on reservoir water levels to residents living around Situ Wangi in Hayawang Hamlet, Winduraja Village, Kawali District, Ciamis Regency, West Java Province. Such dissemination is intended to increase public awareness and preparedness in anticipating flood events around the reservoir, thereby minimizing the risk of loss of life and damage to infrastructure. The local community should be informed about the Normal Water Level (NWL) and the Flood Water Level (FWL) of the reservoir. Among these, the Flood Water Level is the most critical because it represents the maximum water level that may occur during flood events and poses the greatest potential hazard to surrounding areas. Therefore, a flood water level awareness and dissemination program is proposed for Situ Wangi, located in Hayawang Hamlet, Winduraja Village, Kawali District, Ciamis Regency, West Java Province. Field-based community outreach activities were conducted to increase public awareness regarding flood hazards at Situ Wangi, Ciamis Regency. Through these activities, local residents were able to observe the flood water level conditions directly, thereby improving their understanding of flood preparedness and the actions that should be taken during flood events. The outreach program involved field surveys carried out jointly with members of the surrounding community. Explanations were provided regarding the maximum flood water level elevation, and inundation maps corresponding to potential flood scenarios were presented. This approach is considered an important preventive measure to enable communities to anticipate flood events and reduce the potential impacts of flooding, including loss of life and damage to property and infrastructure. The results of the outreach activities indicated that the Normal Water Level (NWL) of Situ Wangi is at an elevation of +411.68 m, while the Flood Water Level (FWL) is at an elevation of +411.98 m. Abstract

Kuranji Village is a coastal village with abundant fishery resources. The community's fishing activities produce fish waste, which has been processed into Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC), which is beneficial for the agricultural sector and has significant economic value due to its rich nutrient content. Although the POC production process has been implemented, the resulting product is still marketed simply with basic packaging and lacks informative and attractive product labels. The women's fisherfolk group lacks adequate knowledge and skills regarding proper packaging techniques and product label design. The purpose of this activity is to improve the knowledge and skills of group members in packaging, labeling, branding, and developing a business for POC products that are good, attractive, and meet marketing standards, thus increasing their sales value. The results of this community service activity indicate an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in packaging POC products more neatly, hygienically, and attractively, thereby improving product quality and added value. Through label design training, participants are also able to produce informative labels with clear product identification, thereby increasing consumer confidence in the products. Product branding training provided participants with an understanding of the importance of building a brand and product image as a strategy to increase market competitiveness. Previously marketed simply, POC products now have a stronger identity and are easily recognized by consumers. Short-term and long-term business development mentoring activities successfully improved the group's ability to develop more systematic business plans, ranging from product quality improvement, marketing expansion, institutional strengthening, and sustainable business development.

Abstract

Bruguiera gymnorrhiza fruit has considerable potential as an alternative food resource with nutritional and economic value; however, its utilization by local communities on Maitara Island remains limited. This Community Partnership Program (PKM) aimed to implement the processing technology of Mangrove Boba Drink (MaBo) through a partnership between a higher education institution and a community group to diversify mangrove-based food products and strengthen the local creative economy. The program was conducted in Maitara Utara Village, Tidore Islands City, Indonesia, using a participatory approach involving community outreach, training on raw material selection, mangrove flour processing, boba production, preparation of three MaBo variants (MaBo Neutral, MaBo Full, and MaBo Local), sensory evaluation, and technical assistance for the Marirasa Creative Group. The results showed that all participants successfully mastered the MaBo processing technology and produced products that were well accepted by the sensory panel, with all attributes receiving scores within the "liked" to "highly liked" categories (4–5). Among the three variants, MaBo Full achieved the highest overall preference, followed by MaBo Local and MaBo Neutral. The program enhanced the knowledge and technical skills of the community in processing mangrove fruit into innovative products with the potential to support locally based creative enterprises while strengthening partnerships between higher education institutions and community groups.

Abstract

The accumulation model of heavy metals Cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), and Lead (Pb) in humans is something that needs to be understood by students at various school levels including students of State Islamic Senior High School 1 (MAN 1) Bima City. The problem faced by partners is how efforts must be made to gain knowledge, and what skills must be possessed by students of MAN 1 Bima City in order to understand the accumulation model of heavy metals Cd, Hg, and Pb in the body of organisms in life. This training aims to provide an understanding of the accumulation model of heavy metals Cd, Hg, and Pb for students of MAN 1 Bima City. The benefit of this training is an increase in understanding of the accumulation model of heavy metals Cd, Hg, and Pb in everyday life. The methods used in this training include Lectures, Demonstrations, Questions and Answers and Discussions. The conclusion of the training is that the knowledge and skills about the accumulation of heavy metals Cd, Hg, and Pb in the bodies of organisms in students of MAN 1 Kota Bima have increased so that they can understand the accumulation model of heavy metals Cadmium, Mercury, and Lead in the bodies of organisms
