Abstract

The objective of this investigation is to comprehend how implementing incentives and penalties enhances the efficiency of educators. The analysis conducted is qualitative and descriptive. The approaches employed to collect data are observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis of the information was executed by employing techniques such as data reduction, data demonstration, and deduction of conclusions. To ensure the accuracy of the data, data triangulation was implemented. The findings of the research exhibit that rewards come in the form of financial incentives, such as wages, salaries, teacher stipends, and bonuses. Non-financial awards such as promotion, training to improve skills, holidays, cooperative colleagues and superiors, and a good work environment. As for the application of punishment or punishment in the form of intellectual punishment, getting a reprimand, postponement of promotions, or periodically. According to the aforementioned research findings, using rewards and penalties can improve teacher effectiveness. Researchers are aware of how crucial the use of rewards and penalties is to raising teacher performance. The use of rewards and sanctions can help improve teacher effectiveness.

Abstract

Reading is what happens when people look at a text and assign meaning to the written symbols in that text. It functions as a major tool for finding and understanding information in terms of what is already known. Reading also has the value of helping the students learn to express their own thoughts and make them familiar with the language patterns and ways of using language efficiently. Students at grade VIII B of SMPN 57 Surabaya academic year 2018/2019 get many problems dealing with reading. The purposes of this research were to find out to find whether authentic material can improve student’s reading comprehension and to know the factors that influence students’ reading comprehension by using authentic material. This research was classroom action research. The subject used by the researcher was second grade students (grade VIII B) of SMPN 57 Surabaya. Based on the data analyzed, it shown that authentic teaching materials could improve students’ reading comprehension. It could be proven by looking at the change on students’ behaviors. Before using authentic teaching materials as the technique, the classroom situation was boring and lifeless, but after using the technique, there was a new atmosphere which motivated the students. The students became more enthusiastic in reading than before. Besides, their achievement also improved. It could be seen that the mean score in pre-test 55.5 increased to 77.6. Thus, the researcher concludesd that teaching students reading comprehension using authentic teaching materials could improve the students’ reading comprehension, increase their vocabulary, encourage them to be active.

Abstract

This paper attempts to explore the values of moderate Islamic education held by the Jama'ah Tabligh group. In general, the preaching movement of Jama'ah Tabligh has significantly impacted social transformation in Muslim society. Since its Abstractpresence in mainland India several decades ago, the Jama'ah Tablgih missionary movement has expanded across continents and countries all over the world with millions of followers spread across various regions including Indonesia. Since the issue of global terrorism emerged, the Jamaah Tabligh movement has received increasing attention in Islamic studies. Given that the group is suspected of being a transnational Islamic group movement advocating exclusivist religious narratives. Therefore, this study’s question is whether the Jama'ah Tabligh movement promotes religious radicalism or moderation. If religious moderation is developed, then how is the moderation of Islamic education from the perspective of the Tablighi Jama'ah? This research was carried out through field research with a qualitative approach through data collection techniques of participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving more than twenty informants spread across ten locations on the island of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The results of the study show that the Jama'ah Tablighi group movement has encouraged changes in individual and group religious understanding to become more inclusive in a short time. These changes occur through non-formal and informal Islamic education.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to find out the types of language variations as part of sociolinguistics. Here the focus of the study is language variation. This study used qualitative descriptive as approach and research design is an observation analysis. The source data were Ilu Na Maraburan movie script by Bonardo Sinaga taken from internet. This study based on Wardhaugh in all update theories. The research found that there were four types of language variations used in Ilu Na Maraburan movie by Bonardo Sinaga. From totally 41 sentences, idiolect is 9, dialecti is 13, chronolect is 8, and social dialect is 11. It shows that the movie mostly dominant used the Dialect with 13 the percentage (31,7%). (1) for the student of the English Department, this study can increase knowledge about language variations, especially for anyone who likes to watch movie. Understanding language variation is very important because there are many language variations contained in the movie. (2) For the lecturer who act as educators, this study will be useful to enrich their knowledge and added their knowledge about language variations and lecturer can teach language variation with the newest references. (3) For other researcher, this study is expected or even able to provide new refences when conducting research in different perspective.

Abstract

This article discusses character education through hybrid learning based on local wisdom to develop students' potential. The concept of character education today should not only focus on universal normative values, but also need to accommodate local wisdom that exists in the student's social environment. Hybrid learning is a learning approach that combines face-to-face classes with online learning. This learning is the right alternative in the effort to develop students' potential, because it can provide opportunities for students to learn independently, optimize the use of information and communication technology, and can build children's character growth. This research found that hybrid learning based on local wisdom can help students in developing their character, such as self-confidence, work ethic, and creativity. The results of this study are expected to contribute and guide educators to enrich learning methods and integrate local wisdom in character learning.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the implementation of the sima'i method in memorizing the Koran for female students at the Mafatihussalam Islamic boarding school and to identify and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors in memorizing the Koran for female students at the Mafatihussalam Islamic boarding school, Sidoharjo Jati village. Great South Lampung. This type of research uses field research, this research method uses a qualitative descriptive method. Sources of data using primary and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques with observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the method used at the Mafatihussalam Islamic Boarding School was the sima'i method. The application of the STM method is carried out simultaneously in one meeting by means of the teacher guiding and reciting the targeted verses of the Koran, then followed by the students. If the santri understands the reading correctly, it is submitted to the teacher or ustadz and finally the santri repeats the memorization by repeating the previous memorization first before continuing to the new memorization. From the application of the STM method, there were 2 students who had memorized 30 Juz in a period of 18 months and 21 months, which they did not have the slightest bit of memorization before entering the hut. The supporting factor is that memorizing is easy for students who follow the recommendations to study at the Foundation. And the inhibiting factor is for students who go home and do not follow the recommendations for boarding at the Foundation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the communication between the Head of Madrasah and staff, teachers both orally and in writing in increasing teacher professionalism at Madrasah Aliyah Hidayatul Mubtadiin, Jatiagung District, South Lampung Regency. This research was conducted using a qualitative research approach. In carrying out this qualitative research how to build knowledge through understanding and discovery. The use of this qualitative research approach is carried out because it relates to the research process and understanding based on a methodology that investigates social phenomena and human problems. In this study, data sources were taken from observations, interviews, and documentation from parties related to this research. The results of the study show that the Madrasah Principal does communicate with the teachers orally and in writing at the Madrasah in increasing professionalism at Madrasah Aliyah Hidayatul Mubtadiin, Jatiagung District, South Lampung Regency. While the form of communication carried out by the head of the madrasa with the teachers orally and in writing by the madrasa through internal communication using two forms, first the head of the madrasa carries out downward communication, namely communication that comes from the head of the madrasa to the teachers. The two madrasa heads also carry out upward communication, namely communication that comes from teachers to madrasa heads both orally and in writing.

Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the visual elements provided in the e-learning website of Universitas Terbuka. The elements include visual presentation, usability, accessability, and content. The method employed in this study was Multimodal Discourse Analysis (MDA) involving the visuals of the website as data source which is available at https://elearning.ut.ac.id/. The instrument used was visual theories which support the propositions of visual presentation, usability, accessability, and content to validate the data found. In analyzing the data, interactive analysis was used involving data condensation, data display, and data verification. The findings showed that: in visual presentation, the website portrays good presentation except for its unbalance split; in usability, the website has good extent of usability, this website has provided good navigation system and easy to understand, except for the video speed; in accessibility, all elements of accessibility are achieved well; and in concern of materials, the materials are easy to access and relevant with the learners’ need.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how modern education management is implemented by schools and describe the implementation of school-based management, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors of school-based education management. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using descriptive qualitative. The subject of this research is SMPN 7 Sinjai, while the object is the Study of Modern Education Management and Implementation of School-Based Education Management. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews and documentation, the data collection instruments were interview sheets and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the forms of modern education implemented by the school are using online-based learning such as using the internet in digital media, conveying material using power point, and using learning applications. Then the use of kern books and links instead of printed books. The implementation of school exams is carried out using a combination mode assisted by the exam browser application to prevent students from being dishonest in working on questions. The method used during school exams is multiple choice questions done using a computer, while essay questions are done in writing. The application of school-based education management in the teaching and learning process is that the management is returned to the school and implemented according to the agreed School Operational Curriculum (KOPS). Carry out Al-Qur'an literacy in every lesson and utilize school facilities and infrastructure. The implementation of SBM in the personal field is carried out by dividing tasks by decree, helping senior teachers who are lacking in the field of Technological Science (IT), and conducting Subject Teacher Consultations (MGMP). In School-Based Education Management (SBM) the school's relationship with the community is the school's guarantee for the safety of students to parents, carrying out a communication process to improve and develop school activities, working with the school committee and conducting friendships through outreach and meetings. supporting the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM), namely clear authority and school autonomy factors, gradual government assistance, empowerment of effective educational facilities, good school culture and Human Resources (HR), as well as responsible school committees and good organizational leadership. Good. The inhibiting factors are if there is no communication and cooperation between school environments, as well as inadequate facilities, such as an insufficient number of computers with a number of students and wifi or uneven network in all classes.

Abstract

The results of learning basketball passing, especially in the chest pass in the basketball game for Makassar 10 high school students, still do not understand the basic techniques of passing chest pass, the average student learning ability is also still very low, the purpose of this research is to answer the problem raised how to find out the pattern of movement passing chest pass students in basketball games, the method used in this study is the survey method in determining the sample using proportional random sampling technique. The data collection technique uses test and observation techniques or observation techniques. The data collected in this study included: a chest pass ability test. The results of the study analyze the Chest Pass Movement Pattern which is divided into three phases, namely the preparation phase, the implementation phase, and the final phase. shows that the movement pattern of passing chest pass is in the category of "very less" by 0% (0 students), the category of "less" by 24% (9 students), the category of "moderate" by 14% (5 students), the category of "good" by 54% (20 students), and the "very good" category by 8% (3 students). Based on an average score of 19.41, the ability to pass chest pass in basketball games students at SMA Negeri 10 Makassar is in the "moderate" category. The conclusions in this study indicate that the analysis of the movement pattern of passing chest pass is in the medium category
