Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Quran and Sundanese local wisdom-based educational management to strengthen students' character in schools.. It uses a qualitative case study method and collects data through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The study systematically analyzed all data through a multi-level coding process, progressing from initial codes and sub-theme categorization to the identification of main themes. The findings reveal an integrated character management cycle comprising planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up stages. Quranic values and the Sundanese philosophy of Silih Asah, Silih Asih, Silih Asuh (mutual intellectual enrichment, mutual affection, and mutual care) are internalized through teacher role-modeling, daily habituation, collaborative learning, and the reinforcement of school culture. Multidimensional evaluation and reflective feedback mechanisms further support sustainable student character development. The study offers a framework for context-based educational management that integrates Islamic principles, management functions, and local wisdom. This framework serves as a practical, adaptable model for other educational institutions through cultural and organizational adjustments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how supervision-based educational planning affects teachers' administrative workloads and its implications for improving educational quality. This study employed a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design, integrating quantitative and qualitative data. Teachers completed questionnaires to measure the relationship between supervision-based educational planning and administrative workload. At the same time, in-depth interviews and observations provided qualitative data to reinforce and explain the quantitative results. The findings indicate that supervision-based educational planning significantly reduces teachers' administrative workloads, allowing them to focus more on instruction. Qualitative findings corroborate these results, showing that systematically designed supervision improves administrative efficiency and strengthens teacher professionalism. The study’s implications suggest that supervision-based educational planning can serve as a managerial strategy to optimize teacher performance and improve educational quality. The resulting conceptual model integrates supervision, administrative efficiency, and instructional quality into a framework for sustainable development of educational management.

Abstract

Transformational leadership is increasingly important in helping Islamic educational institutions address contemporary educational challenges through adaptive, inclusive leadership practices. This study explores the implementation of transformational leadership—using a multidisciplinary approach—at a madrasah, as well as the leadership practices and organizational processes that support educational transformation. An instrumental qualitative case study was conducted at the *madrasah* using semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis, supported by NVivo software, was employed to analyze the data. The findings reveal three interconnected themes: transformational vision, inclusive governance, and a participatory school culture. These themes show that transformational leadership is underpinned by collaborative organizational processes that integrate multidisciplinary perspectives and values within Islamic education while fostering organizational learning, psychological safety, and shared responsibility. This study helps refine the contextual application of transformational leadership theory. It elucidates the mechanisms by which multidisciplinary perspectives are realized within the framework of Islamic education. The findings also offer practical insights for enhancing leadership development, inclusive governance, and professional learning in madrasahs.

Abstract

This study examines how perceived organizational support and visionary leadership influence lecturer performance, with work motivation as a mediating variable. This quantitative explanatory survey included 147 lecturers from private universities, selected through proportional random sampling from a reachable population of 232. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using path analysis to test causal relationships. This analysis was complemented by the SITOREM (Scientific Identification Theory to Conduct Operation Research in Education Management) method to translate statistical findings into practical and prioritized managerial recommendations. The results showed that perceived organizational support (β = 0.278) and visionary leadership (β = 0.212) each had a positive and significant direct effect on lecturer performance. Both factors also positively influenced work motivation, which in turn significantly improved performance (β = 0.297); the mediation analysis confirmed that work motivation mediated the effects of organizational support (indirect β = 0.093) and visionary leadership (indirect β = 0.142). This study advances the theory of perceived organizational support (POS) and the visionary leadership framework by showing that work motivation serves as a key psychological mechanism linking institutional resources and leadership direction to academic performance outcomes.

Abstract

This study analyzes the leadership strategies of madrasah principals to strengthen value-based character education within pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) through an integrated pesantren educational ecosystem approach. Using a qualitative approach with an instrumental case study design, the study collected data through semi-structured interviews with ten purposively selected informants, participant observation, and document analysis; the data were then analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s Reflexive Thematic Analysis. The findings reveal three key themes: (1) strategic planning grounded in values and institutional vision; (2) value implementation through the integration of curriculum, dormitory life, habituation, student organizations, and educator role-modeling; and (3) moral-reflective evaluation as a mechanism for sustaining institutional values. These findings give rise to the concept of Integrative Values-Based Leadership (IVBL), which positions the madrasah principal as a value-guider, educational system manager, and moral exemplar in fostering a sustainable character ecosystem. The study’s implications suggest that strengthening character in Islamic educational institutions requires integrating leadership, organizational culture, the educational environment, and mechanisms for reflecting on values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of ethical leadership in shaping character-based educational supervision practices, identify the character values reflected in supervisory interactions, and examine institutional documentation regarding the recording of teacher professional development activities. The study employs a qualitative approach with a single-case study design. Research informants include school principals, vice principals for curriculum, teachers, and relevant stakeholders. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and document analysis, then analyzed descriptively across three primary dimensions. The findings indicate that character-based educational supervision can be understood through the interplay between ethical leadership, the internalization of character values within professional interactions, and the documentation of teacher development activities. Ethical leadership is demonstrated through principles such as transparency, accountability, fairness, role modeling, and constructive feedback. Meanwhile, character values emerge through attitudes of discipline, integrity, openness, collaboration, and a commitment to enhancing professional competence. Documentation serves as an institutional record and an instrument for evaluating the sustainability of teacher professional development. The study underscores the importance of strengthening ethical leadership, fostering a supportive organizational culture, implementing reflective supervision, and systematically managing documentation to facilitate sustainable teacher professional development oriented toward character formation.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the transformation of digital archives and formulate an "Islamic Educational Digital Archive Ecosystem" (IEDAE) framework, grounded in the strengthening of information governance, technological integration, service quality enhancement, stakeholder satisfaction, and Islamic values. Employing a qualitative, multi-case study design, this research examines three Al-Qur’an educational institutions in Bekasi City: Riung Huffazh Indonesia (RHI), Qur’anic Leadership Centre (QLC), and Akademi Teras Qur’an (ATQ). Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, then analyzed using an interactive model comprising data condensation, data display, and conclusion verification. The findings indicate that implementing digital archive transformation is highly contextual, depending on human resource readiness, technological capacity, and organizational managerial dynamics. RHI employs a structured digital archive governance model; QLC adopts a transitional, combined manual-digital approach; and ATQ utilizes an adaptive hybrid approach. The IEDAE framework integrates digital archives into a systematic ecosystem that aligns technology, operational management, service excellence, and Islamic ethics. This study's managerial implications offer a strategic guide for leaders of Islamic educational institutions in planning resource allocation, mitigating resistance to digitalization, optimizing adaptive and accountable information governance, and continuously enhancing stakeholder satisfaction.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between digital leadership and strategic agility by identifying the underlying managerial mechanisms and contextual boundary conditions. We conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) following the PRISMA 2020 reporting guidelines, integrating thematic synthesis and keyword co-occurrence analysis. The review analyzed 45 peer-reviewed articles published between 2010 and 2024, retrieved from Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. The findings identify four interconnected mechanisms linking digital leadership with strategic agility: technology adoption orientation, ambidextrous organizational learning, collaborative digital culture, and real-time data-driven decision-making, with the latter receiving the strongest literature support. Three contextual boundary conditions also emerged: organizational size, institutional environment, and industrial digitalization intensity. The study concludes that strategic agility is not an automatic consequence of digital investment but develops through leadership-driven managerial processes shaped by organizational and environmental conditions. Theoretically, this review integrates Dynamic Capabilities Theory and Upper Echelons Theory into a conceptual framework comprising six propositions. Practically, it encourages managers to align digital strategies with organizational learning, collaboration, resource coordination, and evidence-based decision-making to strengthen organizational adaptability.

Abstract

This study analyzes the digital transformation of entrepreneurship among santri as a strategy to commercialize pesantren products and reach a broader market. The research uses a qualitative, multi-site study design. The study collected data through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed them using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The study reveals three key findings: the formation of a digital entrepreneurship ecosystem for santri through the integration of education, pesantren business units, mentorship, and digital capacity building; the transformation of product downstreaming through quality enhancement, brand identity strengthening, and commercialization strategies; and the development of digital business innovations through the utilization of digital platforms, promotion, consumer interaction, and the adaptation of business strategies. This research offers a conceptual contribution by introducing the perspective of "Digital Transformation of santri Entrepreneurship," which positions the pesantren as an entrepreneurial ecosystem rooted in education, technology, and community values. The study's implications highlight the importance of strengthening institutional capacity, santri digital literacy, product innovation, and technology-based marketing strategies. Pesantren need to integrate entrepreneurship education with digital business practices so that santri can develop their own businesses independently and sustainably. Furthermore, the government and relevant stakeholders should expand mentorship, access to technology, and marketing networks to enhance the competitiveness of pesantren products.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the institutionalization of pesantren values within institutional governance and quality assurance systems, identify the interconnections among ethical values, organizational structure, and quality assurance procedures, and evaluate the consistency of evidence regarding corrective actions based on institutional documentation. A qualitative approach was used, employing document analysis that integrated an examination of six institutional documents with a focused secondary analysis of a synthesis report from dissertation research interviews. The analysis was conducted at the institutional level through thematic analysis, distinguishing four aspects: normative provisions, organizational mandates, reported routines, and evidence of corrective actions. The results indicate that values such as honesty, trustworthiness (amanah), deliberation (musyawarah), religious moderation, and social and environmental concern have gained formal recognition within institutional policies. A dedicated quality assurance body and procedures that link evaluations with management reviews facilitate quality assurance coordination. However, inconsistencies remain in documenting the closure of findings, verifying root causes, and revising standards. These findings suggest that the institutionalization of pesantren values has not yet been fully realized in terms of organizational responsibilities that can be consistently evidenced. The study’s implications underscore the importance of strengthening the distribution of responsibilities, evidence management, and verification of corrective actions in a proportional manner to enhance both accountability and the sustainability of the institutional quality assurance system.
