Abstract

This study aims to analyze operational strategies and social relations in the development of Islamic educational institutions through the EduVision Strategika approach at the Miftahul Ulumi Syar'iyyah Canduang Islamic Boarding School. The research employs a qualitative case study method, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentary analysis involving 15 key informants. The findings reveal that the boarding school's development success is determined not only by operational factors such as integrative curriculum planning, participatory human resource management, and Islamic value based governance but also by strong social cohesion among leaders, teachers, students, alumni, and the surrounding community. Thus, this is inline with the internalization of civic education in Islamic education institution. The EduVision Strategika approach serves as an integrative model that combines an Islamic value-based educational vision, managerial innovation, and social network strengthening, enabling Islamic boarding schools to adapt to modern dynamics without abandoning Islamic traditions. The study offers practical contributions to the development of Islamic educational institution strategies and civic educations that effectively balance operational and social aspects, providing a sustainable development model for contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of the widely-used TikTok application among Generation Z on digital literacy and its subsequent impact on increasing civic knowledge. The phenomenon of increasing reliance on this short-video platform raises questions about its effects on Gen Z's attitudes and learning habits. Utilizing a quantitative survey method, data was collected via questionnaires distributed to a Generation Z student sample at Universitas Buana Perjuangan Karawang. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed that the use of the TikTok Application (X) has a very strong influence (84.3%) on Digital Literacy (Y1). However, the influence of TikTok use (X) on increasing Civic Knowledge (Y2) was found to be less strong, measuring only 36.5%. These findings suggest that while TikTok is highly effective in boosting Generation Z's digital literacy skills, its direct correlation with the acquisition of substantive civic knowledge remains limited.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of storytelling ice-breaking in Pancasila Education and to analyze the factors that contribute to increased student participation in Grade 8 at SMP Negeri 4 Wadaslintang. The research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were the Pancasila Education teacher and Grade 8 students. Data analysis involved collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the application of storytelling ice breaking creates a more engaging learning atmosphere, increases students' motivation and self-confidence, and encourages them to be more active in participating in discussions. Some challenge remained, such as limited teacher creativity and a lack of support from the learning environment. The study concludes that storytelling ice-breaking can be an effective strategy to improve student participation in Pancasila Education learning, especially when implemented in a well-planned manner and adapted to student characteristics.

Abstract

Concerned by the erosion of civic values, this study investigates how Pancasila principles can be recontextualized and integrated into modern civic life among Indonesian youth. The research aimed to assess the understanding, perception, and practical application of these foundational principles by junior high school students. Employing a qualitative, narrative design, the study was conducted at SMP Negeri 10 Tangerang Selatan, involving 45 students across grades VII-IX. Data was collected over four months (August–November 2025) through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, observations, and analysis of student reflective journals. Findings indicate a gap between theory and practice: 78% of students showed strong theoretical comprehension, but only 52% effectively applied these values in practical civic behaviors. Key challenges included translating values into digital-age realities and applying the principles of Just and Civilized Humanity (social media ethics) and Democracy (school participation). The study concludes that successfully recontextualizing Pancasila requires innovative, experiential pedagogical approaches, peer mentoring, and technology-integrated civic education to bridge abstract principles with contemporary youth experiences.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation and impact of the Cultural Saturday Program (Sabtu Budaya) as a culture-based co-curricular initiative at SMAN 1 Lingsar. Employing a qualitative descriptive case study design, data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis focuses on the program's execution process and stakeholder perceptions, viewed through the theoretical framework of civic disposition. Findings reveal that the program comprises five core activities: Gema Gatra exercises, traditional music performances, traditional dances, traditional games, and art exhibitions. Results indicate highly positive perceptions from both students and teachers, who advocate for the program's continuation and expansion to ensure sustainable benefits. Furthermore, the study identifies that the program effectively strengthens essential civic dispositions, specifically compassion, compromise, self-discipline, patience, persistence, individual responsibility, and open-mindedness. These results underscore the significance of integrating cultural practices into the school environment to foster robust civic character among students.

Abstract

The Indonesian system of government has evolved significantly through constitutional amendments which aimed at strengthening the presidential system. However, overlapping authority between the President and the House of Representatives (DPR) in the lawmaking process continues to generate constitutional ambiguity, particularly regarding the separation of powers. This study examines the balance of legislative authority between the President and the House of Representatives under the 1945 Constitution using a normative juridical method with a historical approach, analyzed through Montesquieu’s theory of the separation of powers. The analysis reveals that Article 5 paragraph (1) and Article 20 paragraphs (1) and (2) contribute to overlapping legislative functions between the two institutions. To address this issue, the study proposes limiting the President’s legislative initiative, strengthening checks and balances through the DPR and public participation, and reinforcing the role of the Constitutional Court as a constitutional guardian. These measures are expected to enhance constitutional clarity and strengthen Indonesia’s presidential system in accordance with democratic principles.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe efforts to fulfill the right to education for children with disabilities at SLBN 1 Central Lombok and to identify the challenges in fulfilling these rights. This study used a qualitative approach using a case study. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Efforts to fulfill the right to education for children with disabilities include the implementation of an adaptive and flexible Independent Curriculum (Curriculum Merdeka), differentiated learning strategies, an emphasis on developing life skills, independence, and entrepreneurship, and providing opportunities to develop potential through academic, vocational, and personal development activities. Furthermore, the school provides facilities, learning equipment and aids, and supportive classroom environments, yet challenges remain, including a limited number of qualified educators for various types of disabilities, the diversity of student disabilities, and limitations in educational facilities and services, such as the lack of a LAS skills room and ongoing classroom renovations. Therefore, support from various parties is needed so that inclusive education at SLBN 1 Central Lombok runs optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

Empathy is an important character value that needs to be developed in students as part of personality formation and social responsibility. However, learning in higher education still tends to emphasize the cognitive aspect and does not provide enough space for strengthening the affective aspect, especially empathy. This study aims to describe the process and results of strengthening students' empathy values through the implementation of project-based learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods implemented for 6 months (1 semester). The subjects of the study were students of the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program at Padang State University who participated in project-based learning with the theme of social sensitivity in society through real actions in the Values and Moral Education course. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that project-based learning is able to strengthen students' empathy values, as seen from increased social sensitivity, the ability to understand others' perspectives, and a caring attitude towards community problems through real actions. These findings confirm that project-based learning is effectively used as a learning strategy to strengthen students' empathy values in higher education.
