Abstract

This study explores the application and significance of transformational leadership among school principals in Indonesia. Transformational leadership is considered a pivotal approach for improving the role of principals in driving positive change within educational institutions, impacting teachers, students, and the entire school community. Drawing on transformational leadership theories by Bass and Avolio (2003), the Principal Leadership Questionnaire (PLQ) is adapted specifically for the Indonesian context, measuring dimensions such as Professional Interaction, Participative Decision-Making, Individual Support, Intellectual Stimulation, and Moral Perspective. This instrument has undergone rigorous validation and reliability testing, confirming its suitability for evaluating teachers' perceptions of principals' leadership effectiveness in Indonesian schools. The study highlights the relevance of transformational leadership in addressing challenges unique to Indonesia's educational landscape, including resource limitations and geographic disparities. It concludes by emphasizing the need for principals to adopt transformational leadership to foster a collaborative school climate and calls for further research on adaptive leadership practices within local contexts. Keywords: Transformational Leadership, Principal Leadership Questionnaire, School Principal, Indonesia’s Education, Applied Psychology.

Abstract

Computational thinking skills are one of the supporters of the achievement of 21st century skills. Computational thinking is recognised as the third pillar of science, along with theory and experimentation. This study aims to improve students’ computational thinking skill through implementation science module integrated with Google Colaboratory. Computational thinking skills in students can be improved through learning programming. Students must be guided to connect concepts and activities from students by creating computer programming. This research uses one group pretest-posttest, then the result will be analyzed using N-gain and paired sample test. The object of this research is 36 students in junior high school level. The result of this study shows that the mean of the pre-test score is 27,25 and the mean of the post-test score being 62,36 with the N-gain score is 0,48 in the moderate category. Results of paired sample test show a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000, which is smaller than the threshold of 0.05. This result shows that the implementation of the learning module had a significant positive effect on improving computational thinking skills.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of work-life balance and work motivation on employee performance within organizational contexts in Indonesia. Using a systematic literature review approach based on PRISMA, the study analyzes 64 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2024. The findings reveal that work-life balance, facilitated by flexible policies and supportive supervisor behavior, significantly enhances employee engagement and productivity. Work motivation, both intrinsic and extrinsic, also plays a crucial role in achieving optimal performance through internal incentives such as personal satisfaction and external support like organizational encouragement. In Indonesia’s collectivist culture, social and familial values strongly influence the relationship between work-life balance, work motivation, and employee performance. This study highlights the importance of organizational strategies, such as flexible work arrangements and supportive leadership, in fostering a conducive and productive work environment. It provides practical insights for organizations in designing balanced policies to sustainably improve employee well-being and performance.

Abstract

This causal-comparative study assessed the gross motor skills of Grade 7 students at Muñoz National High School to guide an intervention program. Using the Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (TGMD-2), data were analyzed via descriptive statistics, the Mann-Whitney U, and Kruskal-Wallis tests. Results revealed that both locomotor (e.g., running, hopping) and object control skills (e.g., catching, dribbling) were below average, with 56.2% of students scoring below the average range; 4.3% were classified as very poor, and 16.3% as poor. Males generally performed better than females, and underweight or normal-weight students displayed higher locomotor skills than heavier peers. Demographic factors like age and socioeconomic status showed no significant impact on motor performance. An intervention program was developed to address these skill gaps, with recommendations for individualized support and a safe learning environment to enhance students' gross motor skills and physical fitness.

Abstract

Abstract Undergraduates’ acceptability and attitude towards CBT as the general mode of testing in undergraduate programs were considered in this study. The survey research design was adopted; the population consists of the students in the Faculty of Education at the University of Benin. A sample of 200 was drawn from the total number of students by random sampling. The instrument – Students Attitude and Acceptability of the CBT Scale- was used for data collection, it was developed by the researchers, and the instrument had a reliability coefficient of .076 and .082 for sections B and C respectively. Descriptive statistics (Mean and Standard Deviation) were used in answering the research questions while inferential statistics (t-test and ANOVA) were used for hypotheses testing. All statistical data analysis were done using the IBM-SPSS statistical package version 20. Findings revealed that the students have positive Attitude towards the CBT and the level of acceptability of the CBT was found to be high. However, there was no significant difference in the attitude and acceptability by sex, but there was a difference in acceptability by area of study whereas there was none in attitude. It was recommended among others that CBT be introduced as the general mode of testing in the undergraduate programmes except otherwise, in areas where it is not practicable.

Abstract

In vocational education, field practice is not only considered as a complement, but also as the core of learning that can produce graduates who are ready to contribute directly to the world of work. Professional Job Lecture (PJL) is a mandatory courses in the sixth semester. All learning is carried out practically. This research aims to examine the level of knowledge of students who are participants in the PJL. The research was conducted on 15 August until 31 October 2023 at the Citra Widya Edukasi Oil Palm Polytechnic on all students of the Production Technology of Plantation Crops study program for the year entering 2021. The number of students in the survey was 37 people. The student has participated in PJL activities at the Subang oil palm educational plantation of the Citra Widya Edukasi Oil Palm Polytechnic for 20 days. Primary data was used in this research through filling out questionnaires. Level of confidence and knowledge of students measured by submitting statements and questions in online questionnaire. Questionnaire-filling was carried out on the first day of the PJL and 2 months after the activity was completed. The level of knowledge of students PJL about oil palm plantation management was medium to very high level based on hypothetical data categorization. The majority of students have a high level of knowledge as much as 62.86%. Effective communication based on SKKN topic for Plantation Asisstants was the highest percentage of corecct answers namely 89.86. Self-confidence was increased after PJL with the number of students by 31 people.

Abstract

This article discusses commenting on the characteristics of Vietnam and Indonesia art education curricula based on colonial influences, post-socialization economic reforms, and local cultural values. Vietnamese art education was influenced by the French art program, which began in the later decades of the nineteenth century and adopted a fine arts education program. In contrast, the Indonesian art education program started in the early part of the twentieth century and reflects the Dutch style of art education that highly valued applied arts/crafts. This study explores the reciprocal relationship between economic growth and the development of art education in both countries. Through a historical-comparative approach, this study highlights how socio-economic transformations have shaped arts education policies and practices. Moreover, it assesses the contribution of art education in developing the creative economy. It suggests measures for the improvement of art education so that it can promote sustainable cultural and economic development. Based on the results of this study, it is possible to successfully combine such local features as Bale culture with foreign art education curricula to create a solid foundation for financial culture in the region via art education.
