Abstract

Education is the process of educators communicating science, technology and art to students, as a tool to change ways of thinking from traditional to modern. This is supported by the government's commitment to making policies based on laws containing professionalism and progress in education from the aspect of facilities to matters of financing. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview and analyze the effectiveness, results, and observations of the supporting or inhibiting factors of the implementation of the governor's policy on free education. The research was conducted in the work area of the Banten Province Education and Culture Office, focusing on Vocational High Schools in Banten Province from July 2021 to July 2023. This research used a qualitative approach. This type of research used a multi-site study. The direct data source is the natural setting to analyze the overall data, then the quality of education at the State Vocational High Schools in Banten Province is the focus of this research, the formal findings and the focus of the substantive research findings. This research illustrates that the implementation of the free education policy is a program, its success depends on good and straightforward organizational or management actors to be used as a forum for creating skilled and quality generations.

Abstract

Job readiness is a competency that must be possessed by Vocational High School (SMK) students. In order to create a qualified and work-ready workforce, Vocational High Schools equip their students with a set of work skills. However, the fact is that not all vocational students after graduation have sufficient skills to immediately enter the world of work, so they do not yet have the job readiness as expected from the business/industry world. This is because the learning and learning practices of SMK students are less relevant to the business/industry world and the utilization of Production Units in SMK is less optimized for learning practices. This study aims to: (1) determine the level of work readiness of SMK students; (2) identify teachers' efforts to improve student work readiness, and (3) determine the impact of the implementation of Work-Integrated Learning on increasing work readiness of SMK students. This research is a literature review based on descriptive qualitative methods. Based on the data from several journal articles analyzed, it can be concluded that the implementation of Work-Integrated Learning can improve the work readiness of SMK students.

Abstract

The low quality of education is one of the main challenges faced by the Indonesian nation today. Various efforts have been made to improve the quality of national education, including the development of national and local curricula, enhancing teacher competence through training, providing books and learning tools, improving educational facilities, and enhancing school management. The research method used in this study is qualitative, and the data collection techniques employed are observation, interviews, and documentation.(1) Curriculum Planning in Improving the Quality of Education in Public High Schools (SMA Negeri) and Madrasah involves several steps, such as: a) Comprehensive evaluation of student needs, educational development, and demands of the workforce, b) Collaboration between the Vice Principal, teacher team, and education experts. (2) Implementation of the Curriculum in Improving the Quality of Education in Public High Schools (SMA Negeri) and Madrasah is carried out through: a) Involving training and support for teachers in designing and implementing innovative and relevant teaching methods, b) Encouraging teachers to use active, collaborative, and contextual teaching approaches. (3) Evaluation of the Curriculum in Improving the Quality of Education in Public High Schools (SMA Negeri) and Madrasah is conducted through: a) Continuous and holistic evaluation, b) Assessing the impact of the curriculum, c) Evaluating the Professional Development of Teachers, d) Assessing the effectiveness of innovative teaching methods, improvement of teacher competence, mastery of subject matter, student engagement in learning, and evaluating the impact of the Curriculum program that has been implemented continuously.

Abstract

Using Google Translate in English learning still has some issues, such as plagiarism, reducing students’ writing skills, and its translation quality. However, according to previous research, students still use Google Translate in their English learning. Even they potentially use it in writing scientific articles. Therefore, this research aims to uncover the empirical evidence of students’ overall perceptions of using Google Translate in writing scientific articles. One hundred English Education students participated in this research. This research uses a survey method and shares the instrument questionnaire modified based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The data collected were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. The research findings reveal that students positively perceived using Google Translate in writing scientific articles. This positive perception is predicted through the perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude, and behavioral intention variable. The findings also reveal that students are proficient enough in using Google Translate to write scientific articles. Nevertheless, the researcher suggested that the students develop their writing skills since it can also be useful in maximizing the result of Google Translate use.

Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing the works of Murtadha Muthahhari’s thoughts that are relevant to freedom of learning. The independent learning system that occurs in Indonesia requires a comprehensive concoction so that all levels of education from early childhood to higher education can carry out the learning process, especially in Islamic education. The method that the author uses is the library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The approach by describing in full and in detail about the issue of actual and social phenomena that occur and are experienced and practiced by Muthahhari in his life and life, and supported by some data from the journal imliyah. The results obtained in this study conclude that Murtadha Muthahhari's thought has an important relevance in independent learning. His autonomous, critical and open approach can strengthen the spirit of free and continuous search for knowledge in Muslim societies. By adopting Muthahhari's thinking, education can be a means to strengthen faith and a deeper understanding of Islam, while remaining open and appreciative of different views and thoughts in an increasingly complex world.

Abstract

The world has entered an increasingly sophisticated era. All sectors are competing to upgrade their digital capabilities to be able to compete globally, including the education sector. The rapid development of technology requires the education world to upgrade its knowledge in order to improve its quality. Therefore, new learning methods are needed that are in line with the times, such as using IT-based learning media. However, the utilization of IT-based learning media at SDN Ngaliyan 01 is not yet optimal due to a lack of human resources skilled in that field. This research discusses the use of android-based learning media (guess image and find words game), with the aim of improving information technology competence in the field of education for teachers and providing a fun learning experience for students to make it easier to understand the lessons, because visual media is generally easier to understand than conventional media. Then, the game can also improve students' analytical skills through problem-solving with the guess image and find words game. The method used in this study is descriptive analysis method, in which the data obtained is processed, described, and analyzed. The stages of this training consist of 4 stages: preparation which includes observation, implementation which includes (making android application content, android learning media training, making learning applications with android), and evaluation using Krickpatrick analysis method, including (measurement of level 1 (reaction) and measurement of level 2 (learning)). The results of this android-based learning media training evaluation showed that the competence of the SDN Ngaliyan 01 Semarang teachers increased, as evidenced by the measurement of competence through the Kirkpatrick Analysis method at level 1 (reaction), where the participants understood the process of making the android application guess image & find words game, and measurement of level 2 (learning), where there was an increase in the average pre-test and post-test results, which means that the participants gained new knowledge related to the making of android-based learning media applications.

Abstract

The current developments that are increasingly developing and advancing have a lot of impact on the sophistication of technology. systems that used to be manual are now electronic, such as fingerprint-based electronic attendance. Likewise, the application of Finger Print attendance at SD Muhammadiyah 7 schools is very appropriate in order to improve the work discipline of employees at school. With fingerprints, employees don't just go to and from school as they please, the benefits of having fingerprints indirectly educate employees so that they have work discipline, the benefits of disciplined work are our productivity and service to our consumers at institutions will run well and optimally. In carrying out its implementation, apart from fingerprinting, SD Muhammadiyah 7 schools also apply manual absences as well to avoid damage or problems with the machine. With the implementation of this finger print absence, employee discipline at SD Muhammadiyah 7 increases, employees are in an orderly manner when entering and leaving work at school in accordance with the schedule set by the school. Employees who cannot print their finger due to illness, assignments from school, and other matters are sufficient to provide evidence and report to the designated school to provide an explanation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategic management of school principals in an effort to manage the budget for implementing an equality education program at the Center for Community Learning Activities (PKBM). This type of research is qualitative research. Data collection tools using documentation, interviews, observation and literature review. Data analysis used descriptive analysis. The results showed that the not optimal budget allocation was one of the reasons for the low quality of education services, the low performance of tutors and the lack of optimal socialization of PKBM to dropouts to continue with equality education. Therefore, the As-Salam PKBM budget management strategy is planned based on priority programs. The priority program consists of (1) allocating 20% of the school budget for the welfare of tutors which is given once every three months; (2) minor repairs to learning infrastructure such as minor repairs to classrooms, repainting classrooms, repairing tables and chairs and fulfillment of learning equipment ; (3) providing a transportation budget for tutors to attend seminars and competency improvement training. The priority program-based PKBM As-Salam budget management strategy has proven to be effective in improving the quality of PKBM, especially the quality of the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

This research was conducted to develop human resource management based on e-learning using the Edlink platform and evaluate its effectiveness on the quality of elementary school teachers. In this study, the Research and Development (R&D) method with 4 stages (4D) was used. Expert validation results show that this development is very feasible with a feasibility validation percentage of 91.67%, practicality of 92%, and effectiveness of 89.5%. The teacher's response to this development was very positive with a percentage of 87.9%, indicating that the development of HR management based on e-learning assisted by Edlink is very appropriate to use as an effort to improve the quality of teachers in online learning. It can be concluded that this development is effectively and practically used as a learning medium to improve the quality of teachers in schools, especially in the current online learning context.

Abstract

School and community relations are important pillars in advancing the institution. Therefore, good management is needed in its management, so that a harmonious relationship is formed between the institution and the community. This paper aims to describe the function of public relations management (HUMAS) in Islamic educational institutions which includes planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating. The method used in this research is literature study where research utilizes library sources in obtaining research data. Data collection begins with a review of books, literature studies, notes, and reports that have a relationship with public relations management at Islamic educational institutions. The results of this paper indicate that Islamic educational institutions are currently implementing public relations management (HUMAS) but have not implemented it optimally. This can be seen from the various studies that have been carried out by researchers with the results of their research that many Islamic educational institutions do not function public relations management (HUMAS) so that it has a negative impact on institutions, which makes institutional and community relations not good and in the end the public's trust is lost. against institutions.
