Abstract

This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method to examine the strategic role of teachers in determining meaningful and contextual Sociology subject matter in the Solo Raya and Central Java regions. Research data was obtained through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of learning planning and implementation documents. The research population is all active Sociology teachers who are members of the Sociology Teacher Conference (MGMP) of Greater Solo and Central Java, while the sample includes 13 teachers from four public and private high schools in Surakarta City, Sukoharjo Regency, Sragen Regency, and one aliyah madrasah in Surakarta. Data collection techniques include passive observation of the learning process from March 4-28, 2025, in-depth interviews with teachers, MGMP heads, and two students from each school, and document collection in the form of lesson plans, teaching modules, syllabi, and other teaching materials. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman interactive model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawn, and continuous verification. The results of the study showed that teachers applied three main strategies in the selection of essential materials, namely the relationship with students' social lives, continuity between materials, and strengthening literacy and numeracy. These findings confirm that teachers' autonomy and pedagogical capacity greatly determine the success of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in meaningful Sociology learning, so systemic support, continuous training, and collaboration between teachers through MGMP are needed.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the Tahfiz Qur'an program at SMP Darul Fikr Andong. This research is a qualitative approach using the Discrepancy evaluation model. Qualitative data was gathered through a case study regarding the implementation of the Tahfiz Qur'an Program at SMP Darul Fikr Andong. This data collection involved in-depth interviews with the principal, program coordinator, Tahfiz teacher, and students, as well as observations and documentation. The data analysis technique used was the Miles and Huberman technique. The result shows that the Tahfiz Qur’an program at SMP Darul Fikr Andong is systematically designed to align with the school's vision and mission. Installation evaluation shows teachers have memorized 30 juz, but there are gaps in teacher recruitment, student-teacher ratio, and supporting facilities. The learning process is adaptive and innovative, but is significantly challenged in students' motivation and the classroom environment. The program positively impacts students' Qur’an reading skills, character, and intellectual growth, yet many have not met the memorization target. The program is considered cost-effective based on current resources and benefits delivered. The Tahfiz Qur’an program should be sustained through strategic improvements across three crucial dimensions: systematic recruitment of qualified Tahfiz teachers, upgrades to the provision of supporting facilities, and intervention to bolster students' motivation and engagement.

Abstract

This study was conducted at STIT Muaraenim, South Sumatra, Indonesia, specifically within the Islamic education setting of Madrasah Aliyah, where psychotheological learning practices were implemented. The research utilized a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design to explore the lived experiences of Muslim adolescents undergoing such learning. Data were sourced from purposively selected teachers and students actively engaged in faith-based character education programs. To ensure data richness, the study employed triangulated collection methods including in-depth semi-structured interviews, participatory classroom observations, and document analysis comprising lesson plans, student portfolios, and reflective teacher notes. Thematic analysis was used to interpret the data, enabling a deep understanding of the psychological and theological interactions occurring in the learning process. Findings reveal that integrating Islamic theological concepts with psychological reflections enhances students’ mental resilience, promotes religious optimism, and nurtures a stable self-concept. Teachers functioned as both spiritual facilitators and emotional companions, while a spiritually nourishing learning environment proved pivotal. The study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on Islamic educational innovation by proposing psychotheological learning as a transformative pedagogical model to foster psychological strength and spiritual depth among Muslim adolescents.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the strategy of character education based on Child-Friendly Schools (SRA) in realizing the well-being of inclusive students in elementary schools. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research location was at State Elementary School Giwangan, Yogyakarta City, which applies the principles of inclusivity and the values of child-friendly schools (SRA) in an integrated manner. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, non-participatory observations, and documentation, involving the principal, class teachers, special assistant teachers (GPK), and inclusion students. The data was analyzed using data reduction analysis techniques, data presentation, and a conclusion drawn, accompanied by triangulation of sources to ensure the validity of the data. The results of the study showed five main strategies: (1) internalization of character values through daily activities and examples; (2) adaptive character learning by teachers and GPK with the help of visual media and personal mentoring; (3) collaborative planning between stakeholders to ensure inclusive character programs; (4) the active involvement of inclusion students in various character building activities in schools; and (5) the provision of a physical and social environment that supports the emotional and social well-being of students. This strategy has been shown to encourage inclusive participation, foster empathy, and strengthen students' sense of belonging to the school. This research contributed to the development of inclusive character education by emphasizing the practical and holistic application of child-friendly values in elementary schools. These findings offer a valuable framework for schools in building an educational culture that is humane, inclusive, and supports the growth and development of all students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of financial management transparency, professional development, and academic supervision on teacher job satisfaction in public elementary schools in Gunungpati District, Semarang City. The research population consisted of all 161 public elementary school teachers in the district, comprising both civil servant and non-civil servant teachers. A total sample of 113 respondents was selected using proportional random sampling based on the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error. Data were primarily collected through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire, developed from validated theoretical constructs and tested for reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha > 0.70). The study also used secondary data from school documents, government regulations, and reports from the Semarang City Education Office. This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method and applied both simple and multiple linear regression analyses using SPSS software. The results revealed that: (1) financial management transparency significantly affects teacher job satisfaction (t = 19.327 > 1.975, Sig = 0.000, contribution = 70.1%, r = 0.836); (2) professional development has a significant effect (t = 19.491 > 1.975, Sig = 0.000, contribution = 70.5%, r = 0.840); (3) academic supervision significantly influences satisfaction (t = 20.850 > 1.975, Sig = 0.000, contribution = 73.2%, r = 0.856); and (4) all three variables jointly influence teacher job satisfaction significantly (F = 229.449 > 2.66, Sig = 0.000, joint contribution = 81.4%, r = 0.902). These findings confirm that transparency, development, and supervision are key predictors of teacher job satisfaction, and the study recommends that school leaders enhance these managerial aspects to foster a more satisfied teaching workforce.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive digital-based RANDI training management model to improve the professional competence of Indonesian teachers for Foreign Speakers (BIPA). The RANDI model integrates five main elements: Reframing, Affinity, Neocognitive, Digital Interactive, and Integration. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method of Borg and Gall,  with ten systematic stages, starting from information collection to dissemination of final results. Data was obtained through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and professional competency tests. The limited trial was conducted in 15 participants and the broad trial was conducted in 40 participants. Data analysis is carried out in three main stapes: need analysis,a expert validation and product testing. The results showed an increase in the average competency test score from 63 in a limited trial to 71 in a wide trial. The trainees showed an increased understanding of the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) for BIPA Teachers and were able to implement technology-based teaching materials more effectively. This training model also improves teachers' skills in utilizing interactive digital platforms, such as Google Suite, Kahoot, and Articulate Storyline 3. The RANDI model has proven to be effective and relevant in improving the professional competence of BIPA teachers in the digital era. Thus, this model is expected to be a reference in the development of similar training programs in the future.
