Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in the national economy, particularly at the local level, such as in Bogor Regency. However, most MSMEs face challenges in financial management, particularly in bookkeeping, which remains rudimentary or even incomplete. This also applies to MSMEs in Curug Tourism Village, Bogor Regency, who are partners in a Community Service (PkM) activity. This activity aims to improve MSMEs' understanding and skills in recording transactions, processing financial data, and preparing simple accounting reports. The method used was participatory training involving outreach, bookkeeping practice, and mentoring. Evaluation was conducted through pre- and post-tests with 29 participants. The results of the activity showed an average increase of 63% in understanding of bookkeeping and simple financial reports. Participants also began to practice separating personal and business finances and preparing simple profit and loss statements. Thus, this mentoring program has proven effective in improving the financial literacy of MSMEs in Curug Tourism Village and contributing to strengthening the village's tourism economy.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kebon Manggis Village, Jakarta, in understanding and implementing structured simple business bookkeeping. The main problems faced by MSMEs in the region include the lack of understanding of basic accounting, the absence of separation between personal and business cash, and the absence of systematic transaction recording. Activities are carried out in the form of counseling, interactive discussions, and bookkeeping practices through case studies facilitated by lecturers and students. Evaluation through pre-test and post-test showed a significant improvement in understanding, with the average post-test score increasing from 3.54 to 4.5. These findings confirm that practice-based education methods are effective in improving participants' financial literacy and bookkeeping skills. Overall, this activity contributes to improving the financial governance of Kebon Manggis MSMEs and strengthens their ability to develop their businesses and access formal financing in a more professional manner.

Abstract

Students with disabilities have the same right to access education. Although in reality, teaching students with disabilities presents many challenges, teachers are still expected to facilitate students' learning needs so that students can get the best education. Teaching English to students with hearing disabilities presents its own challenges. Not only does English have different word and sentence structures from Indonesian, but the sign language used in Indonesian and English is also different. Due to these obstacles, English language learning at SLB B Yakut Purwokerto is not yet optimal. Therefore, through a program to improve English literacy through the use of bilingual storybooks and digital technology-based games, it is hoped that teachers can improve students' ability to acquire English vocabulary and use it in appropriate everyday contexts. The objectives of this community service program are 1) to describe the use of teaching media in English learning in the classroom, and 2) to identify the impact of the use of teaching media in improving the English literacy of students with hearing disabilities at SLB B Yakut Purwokerto. The methods used in this community service program included 1) coordination with the school through observation and discussion and 2) implementation of the community service program, which included the socialization of the community service program, discussion on the use of teaching media to optimize English language learning, practice in using teaching media, and program evaluation. The results of the activities showed positive responses from both teachers and students.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, with a prevalence that continues to increase. Efforts to control hypertension do not rely solely on pharmacological therapy but also require improved public knowledge and behavioral changes. This community service activity aimed to evaluate blood pressure profiles and community knowledge levels before and after educational interventions regarding the use of antihypertensive medications and healthy lifestyle practices. The method involved health education sessions accompanied by blood pressure measurements and assessment of knowledge levels using questionnaires. The results showed variations in participants’ blood pressure, with 31% remaining in the hypertensive category. In addition, participants’ knowledge scores increased by 54% after the educational intervention. This activity is expected to enhance community awareness and understanding of hypertension prevention and control in Block A.8, Jl. Perumahan Kebon Jeruk Baru No. 29 Block A3, RT 5/RW 8, Kebon Jeruk District, West Jakarta, Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the fine motor skills of early childhood through the implementation of drawing and coloring activities in the Integrated PAUD Kemala Bhayangkari 14 Panyabungan. The study used a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach with two cycles including the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The activity involved 133 students divided into groups of Kindergarten A and Kindergarten B. The research instrument used an observation sheet with a rating scale of 1-4, namely Very Well Developed (BSB), Developed According to Expectations (BSH), Starting to Develop (MB), and Not Yet Developed (BB) and analyzed using percentages to see improvements between cycles. The results showed an increase in the percentage of the BSB category from 27% in cycle I to 46% in cycle II. These findings indicate that drawing and coloring activities designed in a structured and reflective manner are effective in stimulating the fine motor development of early childhood.

Abstract

The fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 4), Quality Education, serves as the primary foundation for this community service program (PKM). This PKM aims to enhance the English proficiency of final-year students at STIE Gema Widya Bangsa, Bandung, through TOEFL Preparation training and testing. The program was attended by 88 students from the Management, Human Resources, Marketing Management, and accounting departments. The implementation method was divided into three stages: 1) The initial stage, consisting of a pre-test to gauge fundamental abilities; 2) The core stage, involving interactive material delivery and simulations for the three TOEFL sections (Listening, Structure, and Reading); and 3) The final stage, which included a post-test and evaluation. The results showed a significant improvement in the participants' TOEFL scores. The majority of participants achieved scores in the 501-550 range, surpassing the common minimum standard. Thus, this PKM is considered effective in equipping students with relevant English language skills and enhancing their competitiveness in the job market.

Abstract

This article reports the results of a community service program conducted at Vocational High School Pelita Bandung and its impact on students’ learning and motivation in the context of the Reading subject, as assessed through testing for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. Two main aspects were examined: students’ perceptions of the exam, including attitude, content, methodology, course, and preparation, as well as students’ perceptions of their own motivation. Data were collected through observations of two classes and a questionnaire with 63 students representing four proficiency levels. The study found that students expressed positive rather than negative impact in both variables, namely learning and motivation, to the extent that it is appropriate for measuring their achievement goals. However, high-stakes testing still leaves some residual doubt regarding preparation. In terms of motivation, which encompasses content, methodology, and attitude, the results indicated a positive attitude that affects students’ development and helps them reach an optimal point on the test.

Abstract

Learning interest is an important factor that influences the success of the learning process in schools. Students who have high learning interest tend to be more active in the learning process, pay greater attention to the subject matter, and show stronger motivation to achieve optimal learning outcomes. Conversely, low learning interest may lead to passive participation, lack of concentration, and difficulties in understanding learning materials. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause low learning interest in Islamic Religious Education among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 19 Kota Jambi. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consisted of the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and seventh-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used included data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the low level of students’ learning interest is influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors include low learning motivation, lack of study habits, and students' perceptions that the subject is less interesting. External factors include monotonous teaching methods, limited use of learning media, less conducive classroom atmosphere, and lack of family support. Therefore, innovation in teaching strategies, the use of engaging learning media, and continuous motivation are needed to improve students’ learning interest in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of educational management and teaching in supporting the effectiveness of teaching and learning activities at SMP N 2 Panyabungan, Mandailing Natal Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews with the principal, teachers, and students. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions using triangulation techniques to ensure data validity. The results show that the implementation of educational management in schools includes planning learning programs, organizing teacher tasks, implementing academic supervision, and periodic teacher performance evaluations. Teacher management is realized through professional development, competency development, division of tasks according to qualifications, and increasing discipline and responsibility. The effectiveness of teaching and learning activities is seen from increased student engagement, achievement of learning objectives, and a conducive classroom atmosphere. Supporting factors include participatory leadership of the principal and cooperation among school members, while inhibiting factors include variations in teacher competencies. This study concludes that the implementation of structured and sustainable educational management and teaching plays an important role in increasing the effectiveness of the learning process in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate an experience- and relationship-based hybrid promotion strategy at Hotel 1O1 Style Yogyakarta Malioboro. Hybrid promotion is conceptualized not merely as the integration of online and offline channels, but as a comprehensive process of shaping guest experiences from the pre-visit stage through on-site service interactions that foster long-term relational bonds. This research employed a descriptive-exploratory qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation involving management, staff, guests, and business partners. Data analysis was conducted thematically through open coding, axial coding, and selective coding, supported by triangulation and member checking to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that Integrated Marketing Communication plays a crucial role in forming initial guest expectations through consistent and coherent digital messaging. Furthermore, personal engagement during service delivery serves to validate these expectations through responsive, adaptive, and empathetic interactions. The emergence of marketing intimacy reflects the development of relational closeness, as evidenced by repeat visits, customer recommendations, and positive online reviews. This study proposes a hybrid promotion framework that is systematically integrated into service culture and strengthened through cross-departmental coordination to enhance customer experience and loyalty.
