Abstract

The acceleration of information technology brings ambivalent impacts on rural youth, one of which is the high risk of exposure to negative content such as online gambling. youth groups in Tanak Awu Village, Central Lombok Regency, located in the buffer zone of Lombok International Airport, are vulnerable to digital culture shock and the criminogenic impacts of online gambling. This community service activity aims to strengthen youth's digital literacy through a preventive-educative approach based on cyber law. The methods applied were socialization and interactive lectures on the four pillars of digital literacy (digital skills, digital culture, digital ethics, and digital safety), followed by a regulatory review (the ITE Law and Law No. 1/2023 on the New Criminal Code), and evaluated through casual interviews. The result indicates a paradigm shift among the youths, from previously perceiving slot gambling as a lawless "grey area" to gaining a rational legal awareness regarding cyber-criminal sanctions. Furthermore, this activity successfully crystallized collective commitments, including the establishment of a defensive legal shield, a peer support system, and shifting focus toward productive digital activities.

Abstract

The Community Service (PkM) activity aims to introduce and train the use of AI Tools, especially ChatGPT, to support learning and the creation of digital teaching materials for high school and vocational school teachers in Tanjung Bumi District, Bangkalan Regency. The activity was implemented for four days with a total of 32 hours of lessons, using lectures, discussions, demonstrations, direct practice, and mentoring methods. The material provided included an introduction to the concept of AI, an introduction to ChatGPT, the preparation of effective prompts, and the practice of utilizing AI in lesson planning. Evaluation was carried out through pre-tests, post-tests, and participant response questionnaires. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding and skills in utilizing ChatGPT, increased teacher insight and interest in the use of AI in learning, and participants' readiness to implement AI responsibly in their professional duties. Thus, this activity succeeded in improving teachers' digital competence and encouraging technology-based learning innovation in the secondary school environment in Tanjung Bumi District, Bangkalan Regency.

Abstract

ADIDES (Asosiasi Dosen Integrator Desa) is a non-profit academic organization that promotes community empowerment through collaboration among lecturers, villages, and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDesa). However, limited digital content management and the absence of data-driven monitoring reduced the effectiveness of its website as a communication and outreach platform. This community service project aimed to strengthen the digital marketing performance of the ADIDES website through search engine optimization (SEO), content marketing, and web analytics implementation. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of problem identification, website assessment, keyword research, content development, implementation, and evaluation. As the primary outcome, 80 SEO-oriented articles were produced based on systematic keyword research to improve the website's organic visibility and traffic potential. In addition, a web analytics dashboard was developed to enable the ADIDES internal team to monitor website performance, including visitor trends, traffic sources, and content effectiveness for continuous evaluation. These outputs provide a sustainable, data-driven content management system that supports evidence-based decision-making and enhances organizational capacity in managing digital communication. The program demonstrates that integrating keyword-driven content strategies with performance monitoring can strengthen website awareness, increase stakeholder engagement, and support the long-term sustainability of digital community outreach.

Abstract

This community service article presents a qualitative study of legal protection efforts for communal cultural heritage in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province through the registration of Communal Intellectual Property (CIP) at the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with phenomenological underpinnings, this study gathered data through participatory observation, open-ended written questionnaires, and systematic document analysis involving traditional community leaders, local government officials, legislative staff, and cultural practitioners from the Sasak, Samawa, and Mbojo communities. Findings reveal four interconnected themes: (1) the richness and vulnerability of NTB's communal cultural assets; (2) deep-seated misconceptions regarding the purpose of CIP registration; (3) structural and institutional barriers to registration; and (4) the critical importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration. The study concludes that sustainable CIP protection in NTB requires culturally sensitive legal education, institutional capacity building, and a robust multi-actor governance framework anchored in a provincial regulatory instrument. These findings offer significant implications for policy development and for community service practice in the domain of communal cultural heritage governance across Indonesia.

Abstract

High-quality public services are a key indicator of effective village governance. However, the Government of Pejeng Village, Gianyar Regency, continues to face challenges due to the absence of well-documented and systematic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for public service delivery. Consequently, service provision largely depends on individual practices of village officials, leading to inconsistencies, limited transparency, and uncertainty in service procedures. This community service program aimed to enhance the capacity of village officials in developing public service SOPs while producing a practical SOP document to serve as an official guideline for delivering public services. The program employed a participatory, educational, and collaborative approach, consisting of coordination, service identification, service flow mapping, socialization, training, technical assistance in SOP development, validation, and evaluation. Throughout the process, village officials actively participated as the primary partners to ensure that the resulting SOP reflected the actual needs and operational context of the village administration. The outcomes demonstrated an improvement in officials’ understanding of public service principles and SOP development techniques, the successful preparation of a comprehensive public service SOP document covering service workflows, administrative requirements, service standards, and processing times, as well as a stronger commitment among village officials to deliver services that are more effective, transparent, accountable, and citizen-oriented. This program is expected to serve as a best-practice model for strengthening public service governance that can be replicated by other villages in supporting bureaucratic reform and improving the quality of village public services.

Abstract

The increasing volume of solid waste in Blahkiuh Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency, driven by population growth, residential expansion, and socio-economic activities, has created an urgent need for a more effective, participatory, and sustainable waste management system. The main challenges include the low rate of waste segregation at the household level, limited institutional capacity in community-based waste management, and the continued reliance on final disposal sites. This community service program aimed to strengthen the capacity of the village government and local community in developing an integrated waste management system based on local wisdom through improved governance, institutional strengthening, and active community participation. The implementation methods consisted of community outreach, capacity-building workshops, technical assistance in developing village regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the establishment of a community waste management working group, the implementation of a monitoring and evaluation system, and the formulation of sustainability strategies involving the village government, traditional village institutions, women's organizations (PKK), youth organizations, and community members. The program resulted in increased public awareness of waste segregation, the development of village regulations and SOPs for waste management, the establishment of a community-based waste management institution, and enhanced community participation through the application of the Tri Hita Karana philosophy. The program contributed to strengthening environmental governance, improving the quality of public services, and promoting a more sustainable community-based waste management system. Therefore, this empowerment model has the potential to serve as a best practice that can be replicated in other rural communities facing similar environmental challenges.

Abstract

The development of local values based rural tourism requires strong customary institutions to ensure that tourism development not only promotes economic growth but also preserves social sustainability, cultural heritage, and community harmony. Darmasaba Village, Badung Regency, Bali, possesses considerable socio cultural potential and a well-established customary village institution. However, the customary village leaders (Prajuru Desa Adat) continue to face challenges in implementing participatory, well-planned, and local values-based tourism governance. This community service program aimed to strengthen the capacity of customary village leaders in understanding, designing, and implementing local values-based tourism governance while promoting the integration of customary values into the management of the village's tourism potential. The program was implemented through a series of activities, including socialization, capacity building workshops, the introduction of appropriate technology, mentoring, evaluation, and the development of a sustainability plan. The results demonstrated significant improvements in the participants' understanding of the strategic role of customary institutions, enhanced capacity in tourism governance and organizational management, increased utilization of simple digital media for tourism promotion, and the formulation of guiding principles for local values-based tourism governance. The program also contributed to strengthening institutional capacity, fostering collaborative governance, and encouraging sustainable tourism management. In conclusion, strengthening the capacity of customary village leaders represents a strategic approach to promoting sustainable tourism governance rooted in local wisdom, reinforcing customary institutions, and improving the welfare of the Darmasaba Village community.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to map the competency profile of youth football coaches at SSB PS Bintang Kejora Masbagik, East Lombok Regency, with emphasis on coaching knowledge, self-assessment, and the practical application of sport science in training practice. This activity used a descriptive quantitative approach involving 10 coaches with different ages and coaching experiences. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of 10 knowledge questions related to football coaching and sport science, along with five self-assessment statements measured on a 1–5 scale. The results showed that the average knowledge score was 64%, indicating a moderate level of coach competence. The highest levels of understanding were found in the topics of hamstring injury, mental fatigue, and microcycle, whereas lower scores were found in Rating of Perceived Exertion, recovery nutrition, HR Max, and video analysis. The average self-assessment score was 3.8, indicating that coaches perceived their own competence as fairly good. However, the findings also revealed a gap between objective knowledge and self-perceived competence. These results indicate that further coach development programs are needed, particularly in training-load monitoring, recovery nutrition, physiological indicators, and simple video analysis, to support youth football training that is safer, more measurable, and evidence-informed.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to strengthen community-based learning in reducing functional illiteracy and Qur'anic illiteracy in Belencong Hamlet, Gunung Sari District, West Lombok Regency. The urgency of the program is supported by regional education statistics showing that in 2024 the illiteracy rate among residents aged 15 years and over in Lombok Barat reached 15.35%, higher than the Nusa Tenggara Barat provincial rate of 10.17% (BPS Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat, 2025). The activity was implemented through observation, socialization, training, and mentoring in collaboration with the Community Learning Activity Center. The target groups consisted of adult residents aged over 50 years with low basic literacy skills and children under 8 years old who required Qur'anic literacy assistance. The adult literacy activity was conducted twice a week, while Qur'anic literacy mentoring was conducted Monday to Thursday from 15.00 to 16.30 WITA. The success indicators included the ability to recognize letters, read simple words and sentences, write simple sentences, perform basic arithmetic, recognize hijaiyah letters, pronounce letters correctly, and read Iqro' according to level. Quantitative documentation of pre-activity and post-activity results is presented in the results section and should be completed with the authors' field data before submission. The strengthened manuscript shows that the activity not only increased enthusiasm but also provided a measurable framework for evaluating literacy improvement, character formation, and learning discipline.
