Abstract

Kapalo Panitik embroidery in Nareh is a local cultural heritage of the Pariaman community that embodies the aesthetic values and cultural identity of the Minangkabau people. However, this traditional embroidery is facing challenges due to a lack of new artisans and low community involvement in preserving local culture, including among people with disabilities. This community service initiative aims to enhance the skills of people with disabilities in the field of Kapalo Panitik embroidery while supporting the preservation of local culture in Pariaman through an inclusive and participatory training approach. The program was implemented through hands-on training (learning by doing), comprising preparation, training, mentoring, evaluation, documentation, and dissemination phases. The activity was carried out in 16 training sessions involving 12 people with physical disabilities in the city of Pariaman. The results of the activity showed an improvement in participants’ skills in understanding basic embroidery techniques, an increase in the neatness of their work, as well as an increase in participants’ self-confidence and social participation in cultural activities. In addition to producing embroidered products and uncang, this activity also produced a documentary video and a digital catalog as a form of documentation and preservation of the Sulaman Nareh culture. Abstract

The water hyacinth problem in the Cibanten River has not been optimally addressed. Community efforts, along with the Youth Organization (Karang Taruna) and the Maulana Yusuf Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS), have generally been limited to river cleanups and community service activities. These activities are temporary, as the water hyacinth will regrow within a short time. However, if managed properly, water hyacinth has significant potential as a biomass resource that can be utilized to create valuable and economically viable products, one of which is biomass briquettes. Community empowerment activities in Kasunyatan Village, utilizing water hyacinth to produce biomass briquettes, have achieved their objectives. The community has successfully increased their knowledge, skills, and awareness of sustainable environmental management. The participatory, case-based implementation method is aligned with the challenges and needs of the community facing flooding and excessive water hyacinth growth. This program has had a positive impact on the environment by reducing river blockages and providing economic benefits through business opportunities for briquette production. Furthermore, it has fostered collective community awareness to maintain environmental cleanliness and utilize local resources independently. In the future, it is recommended that this activity be developed by improving the quality of briquette products and strengthening cooperation with related parties to provide broader and more sustainable benefits.

Abstract

Community-based tourism development requires strong institutional capacity, particularly in public administration. The Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in Metiaut Village, Area Branca, Dili, Timor-Leste has significant potential to develop local tourism, yet faces challenges due to limited administrative skills, such as record-keeping, reporting, and financial management. This community service program aimed to strengthen Pokdarwis’ public administration capacity through the community-based training (CBT) method. The training was implemented through several stages: needs assessment, participatory planning, interactive workshops, hands-on practice, and evaluation. The results indicate a significant improvement in Pokdarwis’ administrative skills, as reflected in their ability to prepare reports, manage a simple cash book, and document activities more systematically. This program contributes to strengthening Pokdarwis’ organizational governance, enhancing professionalism, and encouraging more transparent, accountable, and sustainable management of local tourism destinations in Metiaut Village.

Abstract

This community service research aims to develop innovative processing of taro into sago rangi as an effort to increase the economic added value of the community in Kemang Village, Bogor Regency, through the Thematic Community Service Program (KKN). The method used was descriptive qualitative with a participatory approach, involving the community in the outreach, training, and evaluation processes. The results indicate that the community has a good understanding of the potential of taro as a raw material for value-added products. Most participants expressed high enthusiasm for producing sago rangi on a household scale. Despite challenges in marketing and packaging, these findings indicate a change in community behavior, with people now more confident in developing businesses based on local products. In conclusion, the innovative processing of taro into sago rangi has the potential to increase economic added value and create positive social change at the village level. Recommendations for further research include increasing community capacity in product marketing and packaging, as well as developing sustainable business models for taro-based businesses.

Abstract

The implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through community service programs is a strategic instrument to bridge the gap between academic theory and empirical reality. This article examines the implementation of the Community Service (PKM) program by a team of lecturers from the Manokwari College of Law (STIH) in Dembek Village. in Dembek Village, Momi Waren District, South Manokwari Regency. Using the Participatory Action Research method, the intervention focused on increasing legal awareness for the protection of vulnerable groups, structuring population administration, internalizing national insight, eradicating illiteracy through basic literacy guidance, and revitalizing higher education infrastructure. The results of the field research indicate that the cultural and participatory approach has proven effective in breaking down the sociological barriers of the community. There is a significant increase in public understanding of basic legal rights, administrative procedures for civil registration, improvement of academic facilities, and acceleration of the cognitive capabilities of elementary school-aged children. The synthesis of these findings confirms that the integration of local wisdom and public policy socialization is an absolute prerequisite in creating social resilience and inclusive village governance in rural areas.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the impact of digital parenting education activities in improving parents’ digital competencies and preventing online game addiction among children in Leuwikaret Village. The background of this community service activity (PkM) is based on the high intensity of digital technology use among children, which is not accompanied by adequate parental digital literacy, thereby increasing the risk of digital addictive behaviors. This study employs a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 40 respondents, who are parents with school-aged children. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring understanding of digital parenting concepts, the risks of game addiction, and its impact on child development. The findings indicate a significant improvement across all indicators of digital parenting competencies, with a large effect size. The highest increase was observed in the understanding of psychological and social impacts, suggesting that context-based educational approaches are more effective. Additionally, there was a decrease in the need for supplementary materials, indicating an increase in parents’ self-efficacy. Another finding reveals a gap in basic literacy among some respondents, which affects their comprehension process. This article concludes that digital parenting education effectively enhances parents’ digital competencies at the cognitive level and has the potential to serve as a preventive strategy against digital addiction. Future efforts require sustained interventions and more robust research designs to measure long-term impacts on changes in children’s behavior.

Abstract

Technical assistance in drafting sale and purchase deeds (AJB) provides a valuable learning opportunity for law students to grasp the legal procedures within a notary and land deed official (PPAT) office. This initiative is designed to deepen students’knowledge about the steps involved in drafting deeds, the necessary documention, and the legal consideration relevant to land sale and purchase activities. Approaches employed incude observing, engaging in practical exercises, and receiving mentorship from the notary and PPAT. The findings show that students acquaire hands-on experience throughout the deed preparation phases, which include reviewing documents, verifying information, and finalizing the deed with signatures. In addition, students come to appraciate the significance of precision and adherence to legal standards in the deed drafting process. Thus, this technical support effectively enhances the skills and readiness of law students as they preparw to enter the fields of notarial and land-related professions.

Abstract

Circular Letter Number 28 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Management of Bawaslu's Legal Documentation and Information Network has established standards for the completeness and validity of legal products and the management of Bawaslu's JDIH; however, there are still obstacles in its management. These problems include inappropriate abstract preparation, the absence of copies on the first page, the absence of links on the second page, and the presence of personal identities in the content of legal products that should not be included. In addition, the low commitment of Regency/City Bawaslu in updating data and uploading legal products to the JDIH system is also a major obstacle. This study aims to evaluate the role of students in addressing this gap through verification and evaluation activities of Regency/City Bawaslu legal products in the operation of JDIH in Bawaslu Central Sulawesi Province. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with observation and in-depth interview methods, the results of the study indicate that the involvement of students as assistants for verification and evaluation of Regency/City Bawaslu legal products successfully improves critical and logical thinking skills. The synergy between the sharpness of detecting data anomalies and structured compliance with regulatory standards has been proven to foster legal research competency (legal research). Furthermore, students are able to translate error findings into corrective actions through a decision-making process under supervision. The students' presence not only helps validate the JDIH system but also provides practical experience in accountable legal documentation management.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to develop and enhance students’ legal competencies through hands-on practice in reviewing draft Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Memoranda of Agreement (MoAs) at the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Central Sulawesi Province. As future legal practitioners, students require opportunities to apply their theoretical knowledge and convert it into practical skills. This activity involved 5 (five) interns from the Law Program at Tadulako University. The implementation method focused on a participatory approach through field observations, in-depth interviews with Bawaslu officials, document reviews, and direct student involvement in the legal drafting process. The results of the community service activity demonstrated active student participation in analyzing the substance of legal documents, verifying the compliance of clauses with election regulations, identifying legal risks, and providing solutions to technical and editorial errors in the drafts. The conclusion of this activity is the successful integration of academic theory and field practice, which tangibly enhances three key student competencies: legal drafting skills, legal analysis skills, and critical thinking skills. This community service activity also contributes to improving the governance of institutional legal documents at Bawaslu

Abstract

Digital transformation has significantly influenced the development of the creative economy in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the drivers, challenges, and impacts of digital transformation in the creative economy using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Relevant articles published between 2019 and 2025 were collected from reputable academic databases and systematically analyzed. The findings indicate that technological advancement, changing consumer behavior, market competition, and government support are the main drivers of digital transformation in the creative economy. However, several challenges remain, including limited digital literacy, inadequate infrastructure, financial constraints, and data security issues. The study also reveals that digital transformation positively impacts innovation, operational efficiency, market expansion, and business competitiveness within the creative sector. Furthermore, successful digital transformation requires strong human resource capabilities, supportive policies, and sustainable digital ecosystems. This research contributes to the understanding of digital transformation in the creative economy and provides practical implications for policymakers and creative industry practitioners in developing effective digital transformation strategies.
