Abstract

Blood is the most important part of the body of living things. Blood circulates in the heart and blood vessels throughout the body carrying oxygen and nutrients. Types of blood tests performed include hemoglobin levels, blood cell count, hematocrit, ESR, erythrocyte index, hemostasis, blood type, diffcount (leukocyte count). One of the blood components circulating in the body that functions to transport oxygen and nutrients needed by cells is red blood cells (erythrocytes). On the surface of the red blood cell membrane there is a protein that determines the type of blood type. Blood type is a blood classification system based on the type of antigen it has. There are two most important types of blood types, namely A-B-O and Rhesus (Rh Factor). Blood transfusion from incompatible blood types can cause immunological transfusion reactions that result in hemolytic anemia, kidney failure, shock, and even death. Many people do not yet know the importance of blood type testing. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out socialization and education with the aim of increasing knowledge and understanding regarding the importance of blood type testing. The media used related to the Education on the Importance of Blood Type Checks is socialization and education through poster media, as well as demonstrations at the end of the activity

Abstract

A professional teacher is one of the key components in determining quality education, where an individual must meet the educator qualification standards with four essential competencies. These competencies include the teacher's ability to manage learning or pedagogical competence, which requires teachers to have the skills to make learning more engaging. Next, there is the professional competence, which also requires teachers to develop the material they master creatively, especially in terms of using technology. The aim of this activity is to enhance teachers' digital literacy to address the paradigm shift in education triggered by the advancement of information and communication technology. The method used involves providing training to teachers and hands-on practice using virtual presentation applications. As a result, teachers acquire the skills and knowledge needed to become more effective and productive users of technology in their teaching practices, leading to improved learning quality and responding to the increasingly complex demands of the future. Moreover, virtual presentations not only make it easier for teachers to explain lessons but also stimulate discussions among students to explore their knowledge more deeply. This greatly facilitates both teacher-student interaction, extending beyond the classroom, while also allowing teachers to directly apply these skills in their teaching, thus enhancing student engagement and understanding.

Abstract

The hydroponic installation in the hydroponic community of Matur District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra, faces a major problem with a crop failure rate reaching 30%-35%. This issue is primarily caused by disruptions in nutrient flow due to the lack of continuous electricity, which affects pump operation. To address this problem, efforts are needed to ensure that the nutrient flow to the plants is maintained. The aim of this activity is to assist the hydroponic community in increasing plant production through the application of innovative technology. The solution implemented is the use of hybrid power generation system technology, integrating Solar Power Plants (PLTS) and PLN electricity. This system ensures that water pumps operate optimally, even at night or during bad weather. The implementation of this technology has been completed and directly tested. The pump is capable of delivering nutrients to all planting holes. The performance testing of the hybrid power generation system was conducted in the laboratory and at partner locations. The results of the system testing show that the voltage values meet the load requirements, with a voltage difference still within the tolerance range of 2.2% - 3.3%, thus not disrupting the motor's performance. The energy source switching time is <4 seconds, specifically 0.6 seconds from the solar power plant (PLTS) to the national grid (PLN) and 3.4 seconds in the opposite direction. This transition indicates that the hybrid power generation system operates efficiently, with pumps and lighting functioning well. Thus, it is expected that this system can significantly increase the productivity of hydroponic plants and boost the income of the hydroponic community.

Abstract

Coral reef ecosystems are highly vulnerable to damage. Various environmentally harmful activities by the community in the waters of Tanjung Tiram Village have led to the degradation of coral reefs. One of the efforts made to preserve and maintain coral reef ecosystems is the application of coral transplantation and restoration technology. This community service (PkM) activity aims to rehabilitate the coral reef ecosystem in collaboration with the partner group, Kelompok Harapan Bersama. The methods used to support the implementation of the PkM program include socialization, training, and demonstrations on coral rehabilitation techniques using the spider web-shaped hexagonal frame method. This method involves planting coral fragments or pieces into damaged areas, with the hope that the coral will grow and thrive, thereby restoring the ecological function of the coral reef ecosystem. The application of coral transplantation and restoration technology involves several stages, from preparation, transplantation, and restoration implementation, to maintenance for the sustainability of the coral reef ecosystem. The use of coral transplantation and restoration technology has become a promising solution for coral reef ecosystem restoration efforts. This technology has been proven effective in various areas and provides positive results, both ecologically and economically. The PkM activity received a positive and enthusiastic response from the partner group, with the coral transplantation area potentially becoming a new fishing ground for the local fishing community. An aquatic environment with a healthy coral reef ecosystem will produce abundant fish resources.

Abstract

Lam Ujong Village is one of the villages in the Baitussalam sub-district of Aceh Besar Regency. The majority of people in this coastal area work as salt farmers to support their livelihoods. Despite the abundant salt production, it has not significantly increased the community's income, as salt processing is limited to selling salt directly to consumers. Processing sea salt into creative, economically valuable products has not been pursued due to a lack of innovation and skills. Sea salt is rich in minerals with great potential to be utilized as a key raw material in producing spa salts and liquid soap. This community service activity will be conducted in Lam Ujong Village in 2024, in partnership with a group of salt farmers. The project will be carried out in three stages: pre-activities (socialization and initial preparation for educational activities), main activities (training and technical guidance on producing environmentally friendly spa salt and liquid soap), and post-activities (evaluation of results). The program results demonstrated a significant improvement in the technical skills and understanding of salt farmers regarding the production process of spa salts and liquid soap. This success highlights that well-targeted technology transfer can be a key driver in the economic transformation of local communities while promoting more sustainable natural resource management. Key Word: Blue economy, Spa Salt, Liquid Soap, Salt Farmers
