Abstract

Young women are at risk of experiencing premature aging. Early aging can be influenced by various factors such as an unhealthy diet, irregular sleep patterns, lack of hydration, and exposure to free radicals. In addition, the selection of skincare products can also affect skin health. Pimpinan Ranting Nasyiatul Aisyiyah Pasuruhan is experiencing various skin health issues such as dry skin, the appearance of fine wrinkles, and dark spots on the face. This community service aims to provide education on food sources of antioxidants and the optimization of skincare to prevent premature aging. The methods of activities include preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The activities are divided into two sessions: the first session focuses on nutritious food sources of antioxidants and introduces the development of a product in the form of an anti-aging salad booster that is high in antioxidants. The second session is about optimizing skincare to prevent premature aging. The result of this activity is a change in nutritional knowledge values based on the average scores before and after the counseling, which also shows a significant difference. The results of the statistical test indicate that there is an increase in nutrition knowledge from 74.5 to 83.1 (p-value<0.05). This finding suggests that nutrition education utilizing technology can help enhance nutrition knowledge and antioxidant awareness among training participants. In conclusion, there has been an increase in the knowledge of PRNA Pasuruhan members about food sources of antioxidants and the optimization of skincare to prevent premature aging.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of growth failure in children under five due to inadequate nutritional intake. The main characteristic of stunting is that the child's height is not age-appropriate, which is shorter than children of the same age. Steps to prevent stunting can be taken in various ways, including educational activities, nutrition fulfillment, and anthropometric training. Training on using anthropometry during measurement is expected to make the data collection of children's nutritional status more accurate, and the fulfillment of nutritional sources through local innovations such as independent aquaculture can contribute to providing protein sources. This community service activity aims to increase the understanding of cadres and mothers of toddlers in Gampong Pasi Jeumpa about stunting prevention. Budikdamber training aims to enable the community to fulfill protein as a source of nutrition independently. Implementing this program is through education, counseling, and training. The activity stages include several vital steps, including program preparation, program socialization with partners, and implementation of education and training. Assistance was provided to understand the training and education activities better. The evaluation was conducted to assess the overall success of the program. The activity results showed increased participants' understanding, with the percentage of understanding increasing from 55% (pre-test) to 91% (post-test). Participants better understood the factors that cause stunting and the steps to prevent stunting. Participants became more aware of how to measure using anthropometric tools. Participants also became more aware of how to cultivate fish on a small scale to fulfill the protein and vitamin needs needed for stunting prevention. [This service activity increased participants knowledge of stunting problems and improved measurement skills using anthropometric tools. Participants understand the proper cultivation steps so that the fish produced can be a source of nutrients needed.

Abstract

Most of the people in Buraen Village rely on agriculture for their livelihoods, with seasonal land management, primarily focused on horticultural crops. Agricultural activities produce a significant amount of waste which can be utilized by the community to enhance farming practices. However, the management of agricultural waste itself has not yet received much attention from community. One form of agricultural waste processing technology that can be implemented is the production of eco-enzyme. The objective of this community service activity is to work with the target partners in processing organic waste from household and agricultural residues into eco-enzyme products. The approach applied in this program involves the transfer of information and technology through extension activities about eco-enzyme and its benefits in agriculture. In addition, the community is provided with training to develop skills in processing organic waste into eco-enzyme. The result of this activity show that the community in Buraen, as the target partner, gained an understanding of the concept of eco-enzyme and its utilization in agricultural practices. The community also acquired practical skills to process organic waste into eco-enzyme, which can be applied independently. With these skills, the community is expected to contribute to managing organic waste productively, reducing waste in the surrounding environment, and minimizing its negative impact. It is expected that this program will also raise community awareness about importance of environmental preservation. In conclusion, this program not only offers practical solutions for waste management but also supports the realization of environmentally friendly agricultural practices.

Abstract

Green therapy, commonly known as nature therapy, is a method of stimulating children with special needs using natural media. Sekolah Alam Draul Istiqamah (SADIQ), one of natural school, has the potential to be developed as a green therapy center for Eastern Indonesia: (1) it has implemented the green therapy concept; (2) has sufficient open space; (3) has sports facilities that have potential for therapy; (4) not far from Makassar Sultan Hasanuddin Airport which can be reached in approximately 10 minutes; (5) have a good safety guarantee for the green therapy program. This potential has not been used properly for the development of green therapy centers due to limitations, including: (1) limited knowledge and skills of human resources in terms of developing green therapy centers; (2) the need to prepare a good concept to become a green therapy center, starting from the type of service program, natural therapy activities in each service, therapy guides, and the stimulation media needed; (3) There is no media to introduce SADIQ as a green therapy center for the community. The solutions offered for SADIQ to be developed as a Green therapy center include: (1) Green therapy education for SADIQ human resources in the form of training, practice and workshops; (2) provision of standard facilities to support the perfection of the types of stimulation services to be provided; (3) preparing a green therapy service program starting from the name of the program to the stimulation activities that must be carried out; (4) preparation of green therapy service program guidelines; (5) outreach and offering to the public and educational practitioners; (6) assisting the implementation of service programs at the green therapy center. This series of activities proved effective in increasing the understanding and practice of green therapy among SADIQ human resources, was able to introduce SADIQ as a green therapy center in Eastern Indonesia, and brought SADIQ recognition from stakeholders, especially the Education Department. SADIQ is currently an alternative solution in providing green therapy, alternative solution of special need children stimulation through natural media.

Abstract

Mulyaharja Village, South Bogor, has an organic agrotourism destination called AEWO Mulyaharja. KTD Lemah Duhur, a local farmer group, produces organic rice and healthy rice. Organic rice has been certified and packaged well. However, healthy rice which is more productive than organic rice does not yet have good packaging and labeling. This community service aims to improve the quality and marketing of healthy rice through vacuum packaging and informative labeling. This study involved surveys, focus group discussions, laboratory experiments, and the design of attractive and informative labels. Results showed that vacuum packaging effectively maintained the quality of rice and the new label increased the appeal of the product and could be a promotional medium for AEWO Mulyaharja. However, higher production costs due to vacuum packaging led to elevated selling prices, which affected consumer interest. This study recommends further research on cost-effective packaging materials and exploring potential markets for premium-priced healthy rice products.
