Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that affects toddlers' growth, particularly when their height does not align with age standards. In Indonesia, the prevalence of stunting in 2022 was 21.6%, still above the WHO standard of 20%. In response, Alma Ata University, through the Real Work Lecture (KKN) Program, implemented a community-based intervention in Kalirandugede Village, Kendal, to reduce stunting rates. This program combines nutrition education and utilization of local potential with a participatory approach. One of the main activities is counseling on the importance of consuming animal protein, especially mackerel, which is rich in nutrition and affordable. Additionally, this program presents "Onigizi," an innovative mackerel-based onigiri that serves as a healthy alternative for families. This activity involves PKK mothers who are agents of change in their communities. Through demonstrations and direct practice, participants gain knowledge about the importance of balanced nutrition as well as skills in utilizing local food ingredients to prevent stunting. The program evaluation showed active participation and enthusiasm from participants in understanding stunting prevention and applying the knowledge gained. In conclusion, this program has not only succeeded in raising public awareness of the importance of nutrition but also offers practical solutions based on local potential. Other regions can replicate this approach as an innovative and sustainable model for eradicating stunting.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to empower the Dasawisma group in Kota Bangun I Village through the utilization of kokang leaves (Lepisanthes amoena) as raw material for beauty products. The training was conducted in several stages, including the identification of the bioactive potential of kokang leaves, drying techniques using a dehydrator, rice fermentation for cold powder production, packaging, and product labeling. The results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding and skills in processing kokang leaves into value-added products. The products were successfully marketed through local exhibitions and competitions. In addition, continuous assistance through the WhatsApp group ensured the sustainability of the production. This program is expected to improve the local economy by optimally utilizing the village's natural resources.

Abstract

The revitalization of the Youth Organization is an important key to restoring the passion and activeness of youth organizations in Tambalan Village, Pleret, Bantul after a period of vacuum due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a digital approach, especially the use of social media and websites, this activity aims to strengthen communication, collaboration, and youth participation. This study shows that the main challenge faced is the lack of information management and documentation of activities that can affect the effectiveness of the organization. Therefore, it is also necessary to play an active role in youth members in using and utilizing the existence of social media. The implementation of the activity proves that through socialization, training, and development of digital platforms, Karang Taruna Surya Ndadari has succeeded in increasing interaction and information coverage. Thus, revitalization through digital media is expected not only to improve organizational performance, but also to encourage active community participation in various social activities. This is expected to be able to restore the strategic role of youth organizations in community development.

Abstract

Many teachers have become accustomed to traditional learning methods that focus on textbooks and lectures. Not all teachers have the knowledge or skills to use instructional media, including the ROKA'AT media. Many of them may not have received sufficient training on the use of technology or new teaching methods. Therefore, the training attended by teachers from MI Bustanul Ulum Tumapel Gresik aims to improve their skills in operating the ROKA'AT media to support effective teaching methods. The training activities apply five stages: The observation stage, which involves direct observation and interviews regarding the environment of MI Bustanul Ulum Tumapel Gresik. The second stage is the socialization stage, providing information about the activities that will be carried out to address the problems. The third stage is the workshop, involving hands-on practice. The fourth stage is mentoring, and the fifth stage is the practice conducted by the participants to measure their understanding of the ROKA'AT media. Based on the final assessment obtained, the average ability of teachers to operate the media before the training was 25%, which increased to 32% after the training. This results in a gain score of 0.304, which falls into the medium category. In terms of competence, this activity can be generally considered successful, as participants were enthusiastic about the training, understood the material presented, and were able to skillfully apply the training material. The training received positive feedback and therefore should be further developed with well-organized follow-up activities.

Abstract

Telang flower tea is one of the plants that has potential as an herbal drink because it can treat several diseases. The partner is a Women Farmers Group that has a telang flower tea production business. One of the obstacles faced is that the marketing aspect is still limited because the product is less attractive and less recognized by the public. The purpose of this activity is to rovide digital marketing education, with the rebranding aspect for acid pretreatment of telang flower. The method of implementing activities is through education with presentation, pre test and post test, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), as wel as hands on activities. The result of this activity is that partners are open to improving product branding, including logo improvements. The conclusion is that digital marketing in the aspect of rebranding is able to increase the competitiveness of herbal products more widely.

Abstract

The primary source of income for the residents of Barengkok is derived from agricultural and horticultural activities. One of the current challenges facing farmers is the persistent use of chemical fertilizers, which undoubtedly has long-term environmental consequences. The objective of this community service activity in Barengkok Village is to enhance community awareness regarding organic waste management and to provide economic and environmental benefits derived from the utilisation of compost. The activity was conducted through training in the production of organic compost, beginning with the sorting of waste materials, the preparation of the compost, and the dissemination of information regarding the benefits of compost. The methodology employed comprised several stages, including the shredding of materials, the adjustment of the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio, the fermentation of the compost with bioactivators, and the periodic turning of the compost pile. The activity was concluded with a session of socialization and training on the production of compost. It is anticipated that the results of this activity will have an impact on the community's understanding of more effective waste management practices.

Abstract

The aim of this activity is to overcome the dynamics of fishermen's problems in managing their management by providing assistance with scientific studies and education, basic training in managing their consumption patterns so that they can save and increase their income and welfare patterns. Likewise, the pattern of the lending and borrowing system for fishing communities requires assistance regarding the importance of contractual ties as a cooperation agreement between investors and borrowers. As for implementation methods, providing training on managing regular household consumption patterns through training assistance, Focus Group Discussions on how to manage income and usage. "Mengatoro Wassele" application, so that they have data on their results and income and increase the ability of fishermen and retainers/financiers in drafting cooperation agreement concepts. Based on the service activities that have been carried out, the conclusions that can be drawn are as follows: 1. Service in the form of household and consumption management training in the Bajo tribe community with priority for households that have been married for approximately 6 years. 2. Service in the form of assistance in using the MAWAS application, it was found that fishermen's households had difficulty managing their household consumption because they live a more consumptive life and like to spend on things that are less productive and are supported by the culture of the Bajo tribe.

Abstract

One of the government program of competency improvement is the assurance of education quality, especially for vocational high school students. One of them is the Uji Kompetensi dan Keahlian (UKK) which aims to assess the improvement of educational qualifications. The implementation of UKK at SMK Triguna still has obstacles for students in its implementation practices, especially the imbalance between theory and practice and students' readiness to do practical. To overcome these existing constrains, the PKM proposal team conducted activities in the form of workshops and implementation of UKK practical to help design and provide practical experience for students. The implementation of workshops and implementation of UKK, was designed according to the qualifications of the students, by designing and configuring the UKK packet 1 program, namely Designing Network Security, Installation and Configuration of Dynamic Routing, (2) Designing Cable and Wireless Based Networks with VLAN and Routing techniques. The results of the PKM activities carried out obtained scientific achievements of 40% for the conceptual and implementation of packet 1 material and 45% for conceptual understanding and implementation of UKK packet 2. The output of the implementation of this PKM activity, the proposing team will also create a configuration template for the implemented Router device, training material modules and grants for MikroTik RB951 router hardware equipment and switches for UKK packet 1 and packet 2 questions and assignments. From the results of the implementation of the PKM workshop and practical, it shows an increase from each student of 40% for Package 1 and 45% for Package 2 in the UKK program.

Abstract

The Women Farmers Group or KWT is part of the agricultural community group. KWT needs to be empowered to process household waste generated from daily activities. The use of the Trichoderma sp fungus in breaking down organic waste into organic fertilizer in the form of compost. Empowering KWT in processing household waste using Trichoderma spp into compost is one way to support sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural activities. The aim of this activity is to provide training and practice in processing household organic waste using Trichoderma spp in Bongohulawa village. The methods include counseling, discussions with the participants and followed by a KWT demonstration in processing household organic waste to make organic fertilizer/compost. KWT Mawar participants responded very enthusiastically to the implementation of service activities because of the material and training on the use of household organic waste using the Trichoderma sp fungus is something new for this community group. Demonstration activities produced samples of wet organic waste and dry waste which were stored in sacks and tightly closed for 4 weeks. The results of processing household organic waste are characterized by changes in the texture of the waste which has been crushed and has a blackish brown color. The success of the household waste decomposing household waste into trichocompost certainly motivates every KWT member to adopt a household waste processing using Trichoderma spp to produce trichocompost.

Abstract

DR Plastik is a creative industry in the field of plastic recycling located in Putat Village, Patuk District, Gunungkidul. The number of employees at DR Plastik is 25 people, both as waste sorters, shredding machine operators, washers and administrators. The production capacity of recycled plastic waste is ± 2 tons/day. The plastic waste is processed in the form of dry plastic shreds and resold. Current conditions, the drying process at DR Plastik still takes 2-3 days manually (during the rainy season). This condition makes production run ineffectively and causes product quality to decrease due to uneven drying. The aim of the program is to create drying room technology with a green house effect. This program involves several stages such as coordination with DR Plastik partners regarding the drying room area, procurement of materials and tools, manufacturing a drying room with green house effect, training, and monitoring and evaluation. The result of implementing the program is a drying room with a green house effect measuring 6x10 m2 with a transparent galvalum roof. Galvalum has advantages in terms of resistance to impact, high structural strength, and has good heat absorption capacity, so that the temperature in the building remains comfortable. Apart from that, the production of rainwater channels is centralized in the production process, so that the dried plastic is safe from rainwater. This program shows a significant increase in employee knowledge and skills regarding the use of drying rooms. Apart from that, the drying process has become more effective and efficient from 2-3 days (during the rainy season) to 1 day (during the rainy season) and the production of dry plastic shreds ready for sale has increased by 75%.
