Abstract

The Prima Mandiri Joint Business Group (KUB) and the Melati KUB are groups that process medicinal plant rhizomes located in Usapinonot Village, West Insana District, North Central Timor Regency (TTU), East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT). These two groups have been established since 2006 and are still producing on a limited basis with only one type of product, which is a high-sugar instant concentrate drink. Based on the FGD conducted by the PDB Implementation Team, it was agreed to implement a program to produce herbal medicine products in capsule form. The purpose of this activity is to train KUBs to produce diversified products from medicinal plant rhizomes in the form of capsules, such as temulawak and turmeric herbal capsules, and to enhance the profile of the Village as a Traditional Herbal Enterprises Village. There were 38 participants in the activity. The method of implementing this activity includes stages of providing education about herbal medicine (jamu) and its benefits based on references from scientific publication articles, processing rhizomes, hands-on practice using equipment to make jamu powder, how to fill jamu powder into capsule shells, and preparing packaging labels so that the jamu capsule products can be marketed more widely. The training was conducted at the Usapinonot Village Office on July 17, 2025. The training products consisted of 60 bottles of jamu capsules, each containing 60 capsules per bottle. The results of this training activity were measured using pre-tests and post-tests for all participants, with results showing an increase in group members' knowledge about jamu capsules by 65%, an increase in participants' skills in using the capsules-making equipment by 70%, and an increase in skills in making jamu capsules by 75%.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in supporting the regional economy, especially in tourist areas. However, many MSMEs still face obstacles such as simple packaging without labels, lack of halal certification, and weak financial management. These conditions reduce the competitiveness of MSMEs in accessing modern markets and exports. This community service activity was carried out to improve MSME actors' understanding and skills in food labeling, branding, and financial management. The purpose of this activity was to provide education and assistance to MSME actors so that they could improve the legality of their businesses, strengthen product identity, and expand market reach. The activity was carried out through educational outreach, training, and mentoring using a Participatory Rural Appraisal approach. This activity involved partner MSMEs, BUMDes Guyub Rukun, and LP3H halal supervisors. The results of the activity showed that participants understood the importance of food labeling according to standards, acquired the skills to create labels with complete information, and began the process of applying for NIB, PIRT, and halal certification. Participants also gained knowledge about product branding to increase sales value and market differentiation. In addition, they began to implement simple financial record-keeping and learned about digital applications for financial management. This assistance encouraged the creation of MSME products that are better prepared to compete in the modern market and have the potential to enter e-commerce and export markets. In conclusion, this activity improved the capacity of MSMEs in Wringinputih Village in labeling, branding, and finance as a strategy to strengthen business competitiveness

Abstract

The Community Partnership Program to Support Business Development is partnering with the Taruko Saiyo Farmers Group in Koto Luar Village, Pauh District, Padang. This farmers' group has approximately 10 hectares of land and has the potential to become a model group in the field of sustainable agriculture. However, several challenges remain, such as limited practices in agricultural waste management, declining soil quality, and farmers' limited literacy and skills in applying appropriate technologies. Based on the identified issues, the solutions offered in this program include: (1) processing agricultural waste into compost, (2) creating biopore infiltration pits, (3) producing biochar from rice husk waste, and (4) implementing agricultural waste mulch made from straw on cultivated crops. This program's primary objective is to enhance partners' capacity in production management and socio-cultural aspects. In addition, this program also aims to improve partners' understanding, skills, and participation in agricultural waste management and the application of appropriate technology to create a more optimal microclimate for plants through the utilization of agricultural waste. Educational and empowerment activities in the Taruko Saiyo Farmer Group have succeeded in increasing the empowerment of farmers, both in terms of production management and socio-cultural aspects. Farmers demonstrated improved understanding and skills in managing agricultural waste by applying appropriate technologies. Additionally, farmer participation in all activities was very high, and some farmers began directly applying the training outcomes on their land. As a sustainability measure, the team also developed technical guidelines and simple documentation that can be used for further learning.

Abstract

The welfare of scavengers at the Bantar Gebang Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) in Bekasi remains a pressing issue requiring sustainable solutions. Limited income from waste collection drives the need for alternative businesses that can increase income while contributing to environmental management. This activity aims to provide scavengers with training in Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larval cultivation as a strategy to improve their economic well-being. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach was used, emphasizing the active involvement of scavenger groups in maggot cultivation training activities. The results of the activity indicate that BSF cultivation can reduce organic waste generation while producing economically valuable products in the form of fresh maggots, kasgot as organic fertilizer, and dried maggots. Improving scavenger skills and knowledge regarding cultivation techniques has resulted in diversified income sources, with the potential for an average increase in scavenger income of one million rupiah per month compared to conventional waste collection activities.

The focus of the community service program is to address regional problems, namely economic problems. The problem-solving method is carried out in a participatory manner through socialization activities, training, technology application, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as program sustainability in the Brongkol Village area. There are two target partners who receive benefits, namely Ajuning Tani (durian commodity) and Karya Bakti I Farmers Group (Robusta coffee commodity). The focus of the community service program for Ajuning Tani partners is addressing economic problems while Karya Bakti I Farmers Group partners are addressing tourism problems. The economic problem faced by partners is the lack of derivative products that can provide added value and increase income. The tourism problem faced by partners is the lack of readiness of superior products to become a pioneering tourism village. The solution designed to address the problem is carried out through several trainings, training in processing durian derivative products in the form of durian gelato, durian ice cream, durian candy and frozen durian. Abstract

The child entrepreneurship mentoring program through Kios Usaha Bersama Anak (KuBA) at Kampung Bakat aims to develop creativity, independence, and economic skills through digital marketing, entrepreneurship training, and the production of trendy beverages for elementary to middle school students in Sukomanunggal, Surabaya. This program was conducted because formal education has not fully accommodated these skills, while children from economically disadvantaged families need early opportunities to practice entrepreneurship. The program methods included socialization, training, application of appropriate technology, and continuous mentoring from May to November 2025. The training covered the development of an entrepreneurial mindset, digital marketing practice, and the creation of healthy and innovative trendy beverages. Results showed improvements in entrepreneurial skills, digital marketing understanding, creativity, teamwork, and self-confidence. Children were able to practice production and sales independently, including during Kampung Bakat Art Performances. Support from parents, KuBA managers, and appropriate technology reinforced practical learning. In conclusion, this mentoring program effectively fosters entrepreneurial spirit, enhances economic skills, and builds participant independence.
