Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the Torma Code interactive media based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) to enhance fourth-grade students’ critical thinking skills in learning IPAS on the topic of the visual sense. Employing the ADDIE development model—Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation—the research involved expert validation, practicality testing with teachers and students, and effectiveness testing using pretest–posttest design. The results show that the media, teaching module, and test instruments achieved a “highly valid” classification with an average feasibility score above 90%, demonstrating strong content accuracy, linguistic clarity, and technical quality. The practicality test revealed positive responses from teachers (92.5%) and students (93.6%), indicating that the media are easy to use, engaging, and supportive of meaningful learning. The effectiveness test using paired sample t-test showed significant improvement in students’ critical thinking skills (Sig. < 0.05), with an N-Gain score of 0.55 categorized as moderate. These findings indicate that the Torma Code media effectively promotes contextual, collaborative, and student-centered learning. The product is therefore appropriate for broader implementation to support the Merdeka Belajar curriculum and strengthen scientific literacy in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study focuses on the effect of entangled legal systems on the administration of natural resources in multi-ethnic communities in North Sulawesi. We raised three fundamental issues: (1) the mix of formal laws and customary practices as hybrid-norm zones as communities renegotiate the social boundaries and move between different governance forums; (2) formal and informal, gauging the process of renegotiation of the boundaries within communities; and (3) safeguards within communities that promote or impede inclusive participation in dispute resolution. Using a multi-method design consisting of participatory mapping, document review, panel observations, focus group discussions, and expert network analysis, three different hybrid-norm zones were identified (shared-use agroforestry in Minahasa, rotational fishing quota in Sangihe, and sacred resource reserves in Talaud). Seasonal redraw rate data (78%, 65%, 72%) along with average forum shifts (2.3, 1.9, 2.1) indicate that there is a strong correlation between the intensity of boundary-making and the procedures of recursion. Documentary analysis revealed evidence of negotiated joint authorsship in the form of signatures from customary and state actors for documents for which joint authorship is indicated in one-third of the dispute records. Finally, expert accessibility skews and secures the take-up of experts, underscoring the constant equity holes. We conclude that inclusive pluralism results from the mechanisms of spatial, procedural, and documentary reinforcement of each other in a permanent feedback loop. We recommend that hybrid rules be made law, platforms that engage a large number of people be increased, and digital tools be applied to flexible and fair governance.

Abstract

The digital era demands innovative solutions to attention fragmentation and information overload. This Literature Review (LR) aims to synthesize empirical evidence evaluating the effectiveness  of Microlearning (ML) in improving Learner Comprehension. The method used involved screening 50 potential journals into 18 qualified scientific articles using strict criteria to eliminate non-cognitive studies. The synthesis confirms the superiority of ML, which is rooted in Cognitive Load Optimization. ML effectively reduces the Extrinsic Cognitive Load, thus maximizing the Germane Load for true schema construction. In addition, ML design encourages Active Engagement and retrieval practices, which significantly strengthen long-term knowledge retention. Consequently, ML is validated as an essential and adaptive pedagogical solution tailored to the cognitive profile of modern learners and is effective for Universal Learners.

Abstract

The development of modern cities faces increasingly complex challenges, including rapid population growth, rising waste volumes, pollution, and escalating energy demands. Urbanization, higher consumption, and shifting waste generation patterns further complicate waste management. The Smart City concept emphasizes integrating ICT to enhance efficient, inclusive, and sustainable urban governance, while the Green City framework focuses on environmental sustainability within governance. Combining these approaches, the Smart Green City model merges technological innovation with ecological principles, with the Internet of Things (IoT) serving as a key instrument. This study examines the technological dimension alongside sustainability and community well-being. Using a qualitative case study, Malang City was selected for its role as a creative and educational hub in East Java, actively promoting Smart City initiatives with a focus on sustainable environmental management. Implementation challenges include limited budgets, inadequate technological infrastructure, and low community participation. These issues are analysed through major theoretical perspectives to provide a comprehensive understanding of Smart Green City development in Malang, highlighting both the potential and constraints of integrating technology and sustainability in urban planning.

Abstract

Financial literacy is a crucial 21st-century competency that must be developed from an early age to prepare students for real-world financial decision-making. However, learning in many Indonesian elementary schools remains conventional and has not yet integrated meaningful, contextual, and culturally relevant learning experiences. This study aims to design and analyze project-based learning (PjBL) activities integrated with the local Jimpitan tradition to enhance fifth-grade students’ financial literacy at SDN 2 Kloposepuluh, Sukodono District. Using a design-research approach with a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis involving students, teachers, and school leaders. The learning design guided students to engage in projects related to the Jimpitan practice, including reporting on fundraising processes, management mechanisms, and their financial implications. The findings show that culturally contextualized PjBL activities effectively improved students’ financial literacy, particularly in understanding needs versus wants, money management, and simple economic concepts. Students also demonstrated increased engagement, creativity, and collaboration compared to conventional learning. Challenges such as limited time and resources indicate the need for stronger collaboration between schools, teachers, and researchers. This study contributes to the development of innovative, practical learning models that integrate local cultural wisdom into elementary economics education.

Abstract

This study examines how narcotic rehabilitation policies were implemented and how effective they were in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, at a time when the number of drug users increased nationally and regionally. Using a 12 month longitudinal quasi-experimental design, this study followed 400 persons with a history of narcotics use in 15 different districts. Primary and secondary data were combined in an ETL pipeline and using path analysis and structural equation modeling to investigate the relationship between policy harmonization, integration of local cultural values, community support, and relapse outcome. The results suggest that national and regional policies, if properly aligned, along with some culture-related practices, have a strong impact on strengthening formal and informal support mechanisms by and for communities. As a result, this reduced the rate of relapse by approximately 15%, as well as social reintegration indicators. Community-based involvement and the cultural practices of the community were shown to foster program legitimacy, adherence, and sustainability. The research concludes that effective narcolept rehabilitation must include not only institutional coordination and real-time data monitoring but also can only be realized through systematic valuation of local values and local community networks. These results provide evidence-based recommendations for strengthening rehabilitation governance in North Sulawesi and show the possibility of using this as a scalable model for the context-sensitive implementation of a narcotics policy that propels the country's development and is matched to its national priorities and Sustainable Development Goals.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Kankain Karkara in fostering cultural awareness and enhancing the quality of Social Studies (IPS) education for fifth-grade students at SDN II Abepura. Additionally, it explores the methods of integrating Kankain Karkara into the curriculum and identifies both supporting and inhibiting factors. Employing a qualitative approach with an ethnographic design, the study involved participants including the Social Studies teacher, fifth-grade students, the school principal, and local customary leaders. Data were gathered through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive model of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Triangulation and member checking were applied to ensure data trustworthiness. The findings reveal that Kankain Karkara is utilized as both a thematic discussion and a deliberative learning model, enriching Social Studies lessons with character-building values. This integration not only strengthens students' knowledge and pride in local culture but also fosters respect for customary norms, increasing motivation and participation in Social Studies. Key factors supporting its implementation include teacher commitment, cultural alignment of students, and support from customary leaders. However, challenges such as limited instructional time, lack of written guidelines, and diverse student backgrounds hinder its full potential.
