Abstract

The rapid development of technology in Indonesia presents new challenges in the field of education, particularly in increasing student engagement in every subject, including Pancasila Education. Based on observations and interviews conducted at SD Assunniyyah, it was found that students were less active in Pancasila Education classes, tending to be passive, bored, and rarely involved in question-and-answer sessions or discussions. The purpose of this study is to examine the implementation of the interactive Wordwall media as a strategy to enhance student engagement in Pancasila Education learning at the elementary school level. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The results show that the use of Wordwall media significantly increases student engagement in Pancasila Education, encouraging quicker responses, a greater willingness to ask questions, and creating a more enjoyable learning atmosphere. The implementation of interactive Wordwall media as a strategy to enhance student engagement in Pancasila Education at the elementary level has a significant long-term impact on the education sector. This media not only increases students’ active participation in the learning process but also fosters a positive attitude toward Pancasila Education, particularly in understanding the values of nationalism and character.

Abstract

The career readiness of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education (PGMI) students is a crucial factor in shaping competent educators in the field of education. This study aims to explore the implementation of instructional strategies to enhance the career readiness of PGMI students. A qualitative research method with a case study approach was employed, involving two classes of sixth-semester PGMI students at a university. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and academic document analysis. The findings indicate that practice-based learning strategies, such as microteaching, field experience practice (PPL), and project-based learning, significantly impact students' pedagogical competencies. Additionally, the integration of technology in the learning process helps students develop digital skills relevant to modern educational demands. Challenges in implementing these strategies include limited practical facilities, students' readiness to apply theoretical knowledge to practice, and the lack of a structured career development program. This study concludes that the implementation of more practical and experience-based learning strategies can enhance PGMI students' career readiness. Therefore, it is recommended that educational institutions strengthen collaborations with madrasahs and other educational institutions and develop more intensive training programs for students.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of YouTube as a digital-based learning medium in vocal instruction for elementary school students at the Hardman Music Course. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews with two students and one instructor. The findings reveal that YouTube is utilized as a source of backing tracks (e.g., Karaoke Piano channel) and independent learning materials (e.g., Vokal Plus channel by Indra Aziz), supporting students' vocal development both in class and at home. The vocal techniques taught include vocalizing exercises, diaphragmatic breathing, articulation, and mastery of vocal registers such as head voice, chest voice, falsetto, and belting. The learning process is strengthened by teacher-led gradual correction and evaluative feedback using students recorded performances. The integration of YouTube fosters flexibility, student autonomy, and engagement in learning, aligning with the digital habits of today’s elementary learners. However, challenges such as students’ shyness and lack of confidence remain prominent, requiring teachers to adopt supportive and psychologically responsive teaching strategies. This study underscores the potential of social media to enhance motivation, accessibility, and learning independence among elementary students in non-formal music education settings.

Abstract

Effective Indonesian language learning is crucial for developing students' speaking proficiency. Preliminary observations at SDN 1 Tegalsambi revealed suboptimal speaking skills attributable to several instructional limitations, particularly the predominant use of conventional teacher-centered methods. The Role-Playing model emerges as a promising innovative approach to enhance learning outcomes through active student engagement. This study examines: (1) differences in speaking skills before and after Role-Playing implementation, and (2) the model's degree of influence on speaking skill development among fifth-grade elementary students. Employing a quantitative pre-experimental design (One Group Pretest-Posttest), the research sampled all 36 fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Tegalsambi Jepara through saturation sampling. Speaking skills were assessed using performance rubrics, with data analyzed via Paired Sample T-Tests and regression analysis in IBM SPSS Statistics. Results demonstrated significant improvement (p < 0.001), with mean scores increasing from 67.31 (pretest) to 80.78 (posttest). The regression model (R² = 0.728) indicates the Role-Playing approach explains 72.8% of variance in speaking skill enhancement.

Abstract

Despite the critical role of instructional media in education, its implementation remains suboptimal in many learning environments. This study develops and evaluates a diversity-themed snakes and ladders game as an innovative medium for enhancing student engagement in Pancasila Education among fifth-grade learners at MI Nahrul Muhith. Using the Research and Development (R&D) methodology with the ADDIE framework (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), the study involved 16 participants. Data were collected through questionnaires and competency tests. Validation results demonstrated excellent suitability, with media experts rating the product at 88% and content experts at 84%, both meeting "very valid" criteria. Practicality assessments revealed outstanding outcomes: 90% approval in small-group trials, increasing to 93% student approval and 94% teacher approval in large-group implementation. Most significantly, the intervention achieved 100% classical learning mastery, confirming its educational effectiveness. These findings substantiate the game's viability as both a pedagogically sound and engaging instructional tool for character education, particularly in promoting diversity awareness through interactive learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of impactful curriculum administration based on the Merdeka Curriculum at SD Negeri 008 Benteng, Sungai Batang District, through a deep learning approach. This descriptive qualitative research involved teachers, school administrators, and education stakeholders as the main informants. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation analysis. The research gap identified shows that while 80% of Indonesian schools have implemented the Merdeka Curriculum since 2024, significant challenges remain in aligning administrative documentation with reflective and deep learning-oriented practices. The findings reveal that the school's curriculum administration has begun to adapt to Merdeka Curriculum principles, emphasizing student-centeredness, flexibility, and meaningful learning experiences. However, critical gaps exist in integrating the three pillars of deep learning (mindful, meaningful, durable) into administrative processes. The study introduces a novel framework for "Reflective Administrative Documentation" that bridges traditional bureaucratic requirements with transformative educational practices. This research contributes to the field by providing empirical evidence of successful integration strategies and proposing a replicable model for other elementary schools. The study suggests that continuous professional development, leadership support, and systematic documentation reform are key to ensuring impactful curriculum implementation that truly transforms learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by pop-up book media on the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students in the IPAS subject. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group design. The sample consisted of two classes: the experimental group, which used the PBL model with pop-up book assistance, and the control group, which used the cooperative Think Pair Share method. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test based on indicators of critical thinking skills. The data analysis revealed a significant difference in posttest scores between experimental and control groups. The experimental group achieved higher learning outcomes, indicating that the combination of PBL and visual media such as pop-up books effectively enhances students’ critical thinking skills. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of a problem-based learning model and visual media in IPAS instruction, particularly for fourth-grade students who had never used such media before. This approach has proven to encourage active student engagement and provide a more enjoyable and meaningful learning experience.

Abstract

This study stems from the problem of low student engagement in the mathematics learning process, which is often considered a difficult subject due to the infrequent use of interesting and supportive learning media by educators. In general, educators only rely on images found in textbooks or drawn on the blackboard, which has an impact on students' low understanding of concepts in the learning process. To address this issue, this study aims to examine the extent to which the use of the ROTAR (rotating wheel) learning media for flat shapes affects the improvement of concept understanding among phase B students at SD Islam Khaira Ummah. This study employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample in this study was determined using cluster random sampling, involving two classes: class IVB as the experimental group using the rotar media, and class IVC as the control group using conventional learning media. Data analysis results showed a significant increase in conceptual understanding in the experimental group, with an average increase of 32.64 points, higher than the control group, which only experienced an increase of 20.30 points. The t-test results showed a significant value (one-tailed) of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating that the use of rotar media significantly influences the improvement of students' mathematical concept understanding. This finding recommends that educators utilize varied learning media to create a more engaging and meaningful learning environment.
