Abstract

This study was conducted based on the gap in student language environment while boarding and at home. Students can't feel the language environment at home, and there aren't digital learning media that can support the consistency of students' Arabic language acquisition. So, this research was carried out to make Instagram a place for students to acquire a second language and to determine the factors that can affect students' language acquisition based on psycholinguistic studies. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods, with data collection instruments in the form of unstructured interviews and description tests. The research sample was 20 SMAS La Tansa Islamic Boarding School students through a purposive sampling technique. Based on the test results, students could mention six new vocabulary words, one uslūb, and two words with writing errors. In addition, students can produce new sentences in Arabic through inference activities or reveal the implied meaning in the content. The language acquisition factors experienced by students are intrinsic in the form of interest, motivation, and language cognitive abilities. In contrast, extrinsic influences for students come from the language environment and curriculum design. The implication of this research for boarding school institutions is to integrate traditional curriculum and technology through Arabic language acquisition through instagram content so that Arabic language acquisition gives an interactive and up-to-date impression. Future research should explore its impact on language skills, compare it with other platforms, and study teachers' preparedness for digital integration.

Abstract

The pressing challenges of our time necessitate the involvement of Arabic language education in achieving SDG 4: Quality Education, particularly in specialized contexts like the military. This study examines the language management system in military Arabic language education at Pusdik Pengmilum Cimahi, Indonesia. It emphasizes its alignment with SDG 4 through knowledge and skills development, attitude and behavior formation, and physical fitness enhancement. Using an exploratory case study approach, data were collected via observation, interviews, and document analysis and analyzed thematically. The findings reveal that military Arabic education is integrated into the Indonesian Army’s core responsibilities, guided by 12 regulatory mechanisms. These mechanisms ensure a structured approach to curriculum design, learner discipline, and operational readiness. For example, knowledge development enhances Arabic proficiency for specific military purposes, while attitude formation fosters cultural competence essential for global citizenship. This study demonstrates how military Arabic education contributes to quality education outcomes, including linguistic skills and intercultural awareness, aligning with sustainable development goals. It offers practical insights for integrating SDG principles into specialized education systems. This study highlights the role of military Arabic education in achieving SDG 4, offering insights into integrating SDG principles into specialized education. Future research could explore implementation in diverse contexts, evaluate long-term impacts, incorporate educational technology, analyze intercultural effects, and link Arabic education to other SDGs like peace and justice

Abstract

Learning Arabic writing skills still faces many problems. Because this skill is the most difficult Arabic language skill compared to the other three Arabic language skills, in learning activities, an effective and efficient learning approach is needed to make students proficient in Arabic writing skills. This approach is the PBL Approach. An approach that emphasizes a problem as a learning trigger and students are asked to find solutions. So this research aims to reveal the application of PBL in learning Arabic writing skills at IAI Al-Qodiri Jember. The Arabic writing skill in question is writing opinions in Arabic and applying problem-based learning in learning Arabic opinion writing skills in the fifth-semester Arabic language education program. The approach used in this research is qualitative, with a case study type. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman analysis model which includes data presentation, reduction, and verification. The data validity technique used in this research is source triangulation, by comparing data obtained from field research and primary sources (library). The results of the research show that the application of PBL in learning Arabic opinion writing skills runs effectively and efficiently in both the learning and evaluation processes. Apart from that, the application of PBL can improve students' critical thinking skills in the form of the ability to analyze, evaluate, and create. This article can be used as a reference for educators in implementing PBL in learning Arabic writing skills at the tertiary level. Copyright: © 20xx by the author(s). Abstract

Studying mahārah al-kalām, or Arabic speaking skills, is fundamental to the Arabic department curriculum. Effective instructional communication between teachers and lecturers is crucial for successful learning outcomes. This study utilizes a mixed-method approach combining quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to assess the effectiveness of instructional communication in mahārah al-kalām at Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia. The findings reveal a high level of effectiveness in instructional communication, with an overall score of 90.36%. The primary factors influencing the effectiveness of instructional communication include the lecturer's credibility, which encompasses expertise, trustworthiness, and attractiveness. This study contributes to the field of Arabic language education by emphasizing the importance of effective instructional communication in enhancing mahārah al-kalām learning outcomes. The results provide valuable insights for Arabic language educators, offering a basis for developing strategies to improve teacher-student interactions. For future research, exploring additional competencies, such as cultural and linguistic aspects, is recommended to achieve a more comprehensive understanding of mahārah al-kalām instruction. By addressing these areas, educators can foster a richer and more effective learning environment, contributing to the overall quality of Arabic language education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the al-qawā’id wa al-tarjamah method at Islamic Boarding School Hidayatul Mubtadi'in and evaluate its effectiveness in improving students' ability to read kitab al-turāts (classical Islamic texts). Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and supporting documents. The findings reveal that the al-qawā’id wa al-tarjamah method significantly enhances students' reading abilities, as shown by improved post-test scores compared to pre-test scores across all three classes: Class 1 (82:68), Class 2 (84:71), and Class 3 (92:78). Moreover, the post-test scores exceeded the predetermined targets for each class, indicating the method's effectiveness. Observations also highlight high levels of student engagement and motivation, with learners actively participating in activities such as memorization, completing assignments, and murāja'ah (lesson reviews). These findings underscore the method's role in fostering academic achievement and enthusiasm for learning. The study's implications suggest that this method could serve as a model for other Islamic boarding schools aiming to improve students' mastery of classical texts. To enhance its application, integrating modern pedagogical tools such as digital platforms may further optimize learning outcomes. Future research should explore the method's long-term impact, its adaptability in non-boarding school settings, and comparisons with alternative teaching methods to maximize its potential benefits.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the content of Al-Kitab Al-Asasī fi Ta'līm Al-Lughah Al-Arabiyyah Li Ghair Al-Nāthiqīna Bihā to evaluate its alignment with Rusydi Ahmad Thu'aimah's theoretical standards for Arabic textbooks. The analysis focuses on presentation, language, culture, exercises, and supplementary materials. This study uses a qualitative approach, content analysis, and library research with documentation techniques for data collection. The findings reveal that the book aligns with Thu'aimah's criteria, demonstrating strengths in presentation, linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and exercise quality, making it suitable for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. This research highlights the importance of adhering to established standards in textbook development to create effective learning materials. The implications suggest that educators and curriculum developers should prioritize compatibility with theoretical frameworks to enhance language instruction. Future studies could expand this analysis to compare multiple Arabic textbooks, explore the effectiveness of these standards in classroom settings, and assess how digital adaptations of textbooks can complement traditional methods. Additionally, integrating student feedback into textbook evaluation could provide deeper insights into user-centered design in language education.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the techniques, accuracy, and pedagogical implications of translating Quranic majāz mursal into Sundanese in the books Ayat Suci Lenyepaneun and Mushaf Sundawi. Using a qualitative approach with content and discourse analysis methods, data were collected through library research techniques. The findings reveal that in the first book, transposition techniques consist of 54% transfer, 26% substitution, and 20% others, while equivalence techniques include 48% correspondence, 50% description, and 2% others. In the second book, transposition techniques comprise 51% transfer, 21% substitution, and 28% others, while equivalence techniques include 41% correspondence, 49% description, and 10% others. Regarding accuracy, the first book achieves 37% very accurate, 12% accurate, 51% less accurate, and 0% inaccurate, while the second book achieves 35% very accurate, 12% accurate, 53% less accurate, and 0% inaccurate. Practical steps for teaching translation are recommended, including analysis, transfer, restructuring, evaluation, and revision. These findings emphasize the importance of systematic strategies to ensure accurate translations of Quranic texts into regional languages, highlighting the need for translators to master linguistic and cultural nuances. Future research should develop standardized guidelines for Quranic translation, explore advanced translation technologies, and foster collaboration among linguists, theologians, and educators to enhance accuracy and accessibility.

Abstract

Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan di MIN 2 Kota Bandung, masalah penelitian ini adalah rendahnya minat belajar siswa dalam pelajaran tarkīb. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya penguasaan tarkīb dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Adapun dalam proses belajar, dilatarbelakangi oleh beberapa fakta,  diantaranya (a) pada proses pembelajaran hanya guru yang aktif, (b) minat siswa kurang dalam pembelajaran tarkīb, (c) mayoritas siswa memandang bahasa Arab tidak mudah terutama dalam pembelajaran tarkīb. Dalam menanggapi hal ini, maka perlu adanya dorongan dan teknik pembelajaran yang menarik siswa agar memiliki minat untuk mempelajarinya. Untuk itu penulis mencoba menggunakan teknik permainan berburu tarkīb dalam pembelajaran Tarkīb, melalui penelitian eksperimen terhadap 39 orang siswa sebagai siswa yang menggunakan teknik ini dengan menggunakan analisis data one group pre-test dan post-test design. Hasil eksperimen memiliki signifikasi dengan nilai t hitung 0,003 < dari t tabel -2,21.

Abstract

Pembelajaran adalah aktivitas yang mencakup banyak hal. Hal paling penting adalah perencanaan  atau persiapan pembelajaran, aktivitas pembelajaran dan evaluasi. Dan untuk kesuksesan guru dalam aktivitas pembelajaran harus memikirkan banyak hal sebelum melaksanakan pembelajaran tersebut seperti mempersiapkan materi pembelajaran, metode belajar yang sesuai dengan materi, media pembelajaran dan lain-lain. Dan di antara hal paling penting yang dibutuhkan dalam aktivitas belajar dan untuk kesuksesan belajar adalah media pembelajaran atau kadang disebut juga dengan alat bantu. Penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam belajar kaidah (qawaid) menggunakan power point dengan memilih materi, latihan dan metode pembelajaran yang sesuai. Sebagaimana biasanya aplikasi ini membantu mahasiswa untuk menguasai kaidah bahasa. Dan penggunaan aplikasi power point ini membuat pembelajaran menjadi efektif, memudahkan para dosen dalam aktivitas pengajaran, dan membantu mereka mencapai tujuan yang diharapkan. Diharuskan kepada pengajar nahwu untuk memperhatikan urgensi pembelajaran  dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran yang tepat sehingga belajar kaidah memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan bagi mahasiswa dalam menguasai kadiah nahwu tersebut dan harus banyak latihan-latihan yang aplikatif dalam pembelajaran khususnya i’rab. Oleh karena itu pembelajaran yang baik harus berkembang dengan cara menggunakan media pembelajaran yang sesuai untuk meningkatkan bahasa mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran kaidah. Dan media yang dimaksud adalah aplikasi power point.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kemampuan siswa kelas XI Madrasah Aliyah Ar-Raudlah Bandung dalam memahami teks bahasa Arab sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan kamus elektronik, serta mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh kamus elektronik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami teks bahasa Arab. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain one group pre-test and post-test design. Adapun teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan tes. Hasil dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam memahami teks bahasa Arab sebelum menggunakan kamus elektronik memperoleh hasil rata-rata 59,83 dan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami teks bahasa Arab setelah menggunakan kamus elektronik memperoleh hasil rata-rata 75,33 . Dengan demikian bahwa penggunaan kamus elektronik dalam pembelajaran qirā`ah memberikan pengaruh terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam memahami teks bahasa Arab dengan persentase 30 %.
