Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in boosting Indonesia’s GDP, contributing 61.97%. In addition to generating employment, MSMEs promote economic equity and support national growth. Mojokerto Regency, with 474,346 MSME units contributing IDR 63.498 trillion to the GDP, demonstrates significant potential. However, many MSMEs in this region struggle with low competitiveness. This community engagement program focuses on empowering MSMEs in the food processing sector, particularly the production of kerupuk rambak (fried cowhide crackers) at UD. IKABA. Key challenges identified include limited technology, such as using a modified washing machine to remove excess oil, as well as conventional marketing methods and unappealing packaging. The intervention involved introducing an automatic oil spinner and providing digital marketing training, including the development of a website application for online orders and promotion. The results show improved production efficiency, with processing time reduced by 25%, production capacity increased by 50%, and higher product quality in terms of hygiene and shelf life. Digital marketing also expanded the market reach from local to national levels, resulting in a 70% increase in sales. The implementation of production technology and digital marketing has proven effective in enhancing MSME competitiveness, contributing to both local and national economic growth.

Abstract

In understanding the sustainability of Blimbingsari Beach, community service activities are carried out at Blimbingsari Beach. Blimbingsari Beach is famous for its grilled fish culinary and has a very strategic location close to Blimbingsari Banyuwangi Airport. The problem at Blimbingsari Beach is the lack of optimal management in arranging the number of tourist visits which is not balanced with the capacity of the beach area, environmental factors and management factors. The second problem is related to beach cleanliness which contradicts the culinary of grilled fish which is a characteristic of Blimbingsari Beach. The purpose of this service activity is to provide understanding to the Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS) in managing visitors and provide ecobrick making training to POKDARWIS and the surrounding community which can be a solution in overcoming both existing problems. The methods used in this activity start from coordination, socialization, training implementation to evaluation. The result of the first problem is in the form of understanding and applying the tourist attraction carrying capacity platform to find out the maximum number of tourist visits at Blimbingsari Beach so that visitors still get satisfaction and continue to pay attention to environmental factors. This is in accordance with the concept of sustainable tourism. The result of the second problem is the ability of POKDARWIS and the surrounding community to make ecobricks and the existence of an ecobrick-based tourist information board placed on Blimbingsari Beach.

Abstract

Globally, the number of individuals with diabetes aged 20–79 is approximately 540 million and is expected to continue rising. The majority of diabetes cases, around 90%, are diagnosed as type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The impact of diabetes is associated with several chronic complications. These complications contribute to a decline in quality of life and may lead to a loss of independence, particularly among elderly patients. One approach to addressing diabetes-related health issues in elderly patients is through preventive and promotive efforts. One such effort is health screening for elderly individuals, aimed at early disease detection or preventing the onset of diabetes. Regular blood glucose testing is recommended, especially for individuals whose glucose levels exceed the normal threshold, to ensure timely treatment and prevention. In addition to routine blood glucose monitoring, increasing public awareness and knowledge about diabetes mellitus is essential to facilitate early prevention efforts. As a result of this initiative, several respondents with diabetes were identified, and there was an increase in knowledge regarding diabetes and its prevention.

Abstract

Sheep farming in Indonesia is generally still carried out conventionally to semi-intensively, and there is also minimal support for the sheep farming business being run. Livestock partners from CV An-Kim Indo Farm and Faris Jaya Farm are partners who still run sheep farming businesses by relying on the availability of green fodder in the form of field grass and rice straw as their main feed. Both of these feed ingredients have low nutritional quality. The level of sheep productivity is maintained if the feed contains a minimum of PK 10.90-12.70%, and TDN 55-60%. This factor causes the sheep of partner farmers to not be able to produce optimally. In fact, other feed sources besides field grass are widely available around partner farms and can be used as alternative feed, for example various agricultural waste. However, the low knowledge and skills of farmers in identifying and processing alternative feeds cause the nutritional needs of sheep not to be met and affect their productivity. The solution to this problem is to conduct socialization regarding increasing the nutritional value of animal feed through the manufacture of complete feed using alternative feed raw materials from agricultural waste. Complete feed silage innovation is a practical solution to overcome the availability of fresh feed for partner sheep farmers at CV An-Kim Indo Farm and Faris Jaya Farm. This silage saves labor and time, reduces dependence on field grass, its application is expected to improve feed management, save time and energy for farmers, and increase efficiency.

Abstract

Melon farming has a role in meeting the demand for nutrients and vitamins in the community. Kertonegoro Village Farmers Group is a melon farming business that has problems in meeting this demand. The problems faced are in the labor cost sector for watering and fertilizing. The application of Smart Agriculture Technology based on Outseal PLC and solar power aims to increase the efficiency of labor costs for watering and fertilizing 48 melon plants. The method used is Participatory Learning and Action (PLA), in which the partners participate directly in every stage, starting from partner coordination, design, trial, to evaluation. The results of the application showed efficiency in labor costs by 10%, from Rp. 680,000 to Rp. 612,000. With a systematic approach through coordination, training, and mentoring, it is hoped that this program will succeed in providing real benefits to farmers.

Abstract

The majority of residents in Suling Wetan Village work as farmers and rely heavily on self-produced seeds due to the village’s remote location. One high-potential crop for marginal lands in the area is patchouli (Pogostemon cablin), a plant valued for its essential oil. However, the propagation of patchouli remains a significant challenge for local farmers due to limited knowledge and skills. This community engagement program aimed to enhance farmers’ capacities in patchouli propagation through a combination of awareness campaigns, technical workshops, hands-on training, direct field mentoring, and participatory monitoring and evaluation. Evaluation was conducted through direct observation and participant surveys. The results showed that 96% of participants gained a clear understanding of patchouli propagation techniques, and all participants acknowledged the importance of the program and expressed hope for its continuation. The activity successfully contributed to increasing farmers’ independence in sustainable patchouli seedling production.

Abstract

BUMDes Pulotondo is a strategic partner of the village government in promoting development and economic equality at the local level. As a village financial institution, BUMDes plays an important role in supporting the needs of micro enterprises in the village. However, the financial management of BUMDes Pulotondo is still conducted in a simple manner. Financial management is limited to basic cash recording, while financial reporting is still lacking in detail and does not meet adequate accountability principles. In addition, there is no separate financial accountability report for each business unit, which leads to low transparency and difficulties in evaluating the performance of each BUMDes Pulotondo business unit. This study aims to analyze the financial management of BUMDes Pulotondo and identify solutions to improve the effectiveness and transparency of its financial management. To address this issue, the PPM Accounting Team of Polinema provided direct assistance to the management of BUMDes Pulotondo in improving financial governance. The assistance was carried out through the delivery of materials using interactive presentations, along with practical exercises for preparing financial reports using templates in Excel customized to meet the needs of BUMDes. Direct practice involved providing case studies of real transactions relevant to the activities of BUMDes for practicing financial report preparation. During the practical sessions, the management of BUMDes Pulotondo was enthusiastic about trying to identify transactions of business units present in Pulotondo Village and posed questions that they still did not understand regarding accounting. The PPM Team also created a guidebook and educational videos as ongoing references for the management of BUMDes Pulotondo in preparing financial reports accurately and systematically. The results of the BUMDes mentoring activities, BUMDes managers gave a positive response, namely the ease in understanding and preparing financial reports for business units in Pulotondo Village

Abstract

PSDKU MIK Ngawi Regency was established since the enactment of Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia No. 161/D/OT/2023 dated 10 July 2023. Industry-based vocational education. Competency-based vocational education must be equipped with a teaching factory. Efforts are being made to support the achievement of PSDKU competency. MIK Ngawi plans to establish a teaching factory in the form of a health service facility/health clinic which is expected to become a practicum facility for MIK students.  Community service activities will be carried out in 4 stages, namely identification of needs, preparation stage, implementation of activities, monitoring and evaluation stages. Problem solutions offered to partners include socializing the requirements for establishing a clinic, preparing a management structure for clinical services, fulfilling basic clinical health service facilities, and preparing SOPs for using equipment. Socialization of the requirements for establishing a clinic was carried out through FGD with the Head of Health  Services, Ngawi Health Office. The results of the FGD include legal health services for an agency, at least in the form of a clinic, provided that the person in charge is a doctor who has a practice license and is supported by other health workers (nurses and midwives). The availability of health human resources at PSDKU MIK Ngawi includes nursing, midwifery and public health personnel, so there is a need for doctors to meet the requirements for establishing a clinic. After the clinic's organizational structure is formed, the next step is to register with DPMPTSP (Department of Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services) via online single submission (OSS). Suggestions for the need for medical personnel (doctors) to fulfill the requirements for establishing a clinic and fulfilling the clinic requirements documents refer to Minister of Health Regulation No. 14 of 2021 concerning Standards for Business Activities and Products in the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing in the Health Sector.
