Abstract

Family caregiving often involves family members, relatives, and partners with whom the patients have a personal relationship to assist the care. The roles of caregivers are extensive and require a lot of effort, time, and commitment. These demands might possibly affect the life of caregivers. This paper aims to identify how family caregiving in Malaysia might have jeopardized the caregiver's life. A systematic approach analysis was utilized in this study while including seventeen articles. The exclusion criteria were articles published in reputable journals containing the research topic with the keywords "burden", "finance", and "stress". The focus of the study was on the impact, mental health status, quality of life, and burden related to caregivers in Malaysia. The articles were categorized into four themes: mental health status, impact, quality of life, and burden towards family caregiving in Malaysia. The results showed that in the theme of mental health status, caregivers experienced significant stress and one of the factors is the family's lack of knowledge in dealing with stress. Meanwhile, in terms of impact, the results indicated that caregivers experienced negative impacts on their emotions and health. In the quality of life theme, the results presented that family caregiving had a positive impact on increasing bonding between patients and caregivers. The results also showed that caregivers experienced burdens related to financial issues and lack of social support. This study recommends mental health professionals provide support, knowledge, and training for caregivers to maintain their psychological well-being.

Abstract

Unfortunately, multicultural problems manifested in patterns of thought, attitude, and behavior of intolerance are still seen in many societies over the past decade. It started to become common that certain groups attacked other ethnic and racial groups thereby causing conflict. This might be due to the handling of cases that are not ideal and appropriate, situations of intolerance, and social conflicts that have a wide impact, including causing psychological problems such as anxiety, hatred, violence, or depression. This study aimed to critically examine psychological coping strategies carried out in various countries to assist post-conflict victims with trauma, especially in multicultural societies. This study used an integrative review approach to analyze nine selected articles about psychological strategy and social education for post-conflict settings from 2010 to 2021 by reputable journals or publications. The results showed that the post-conflict victim handling strategy in various countries is carried out using psychosocial approaches and counseling/narrative therapy which are considered the most effective to help victims with trauma.  Multicultural skills are an important part of post-conflict psychological handling, and hence is recommended multicultural counseling as a post-conflict psychological treatment and social education model is widely applied by societies with a high level of diversity.

Abstract

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a major franchise in the Hollywood film industry that tells the story of various superheroes in one story continuity. The popularity of the MCU has skyrocketed in society for 14 years ago and has influenced the development of popular culture today. This paper aims to review the potential of the MCU as one of the big trends in the millennial era in the practice of cinema counseling. The review method used is a literature study, the author reviews various related literature to present a comprehensive discussion. The results of the review suggest that the MCU has great potential to be utilized in cinema counseling, especially for millennial children and teenagers. This is because in essence film is a medium that has been tested to be effectively used to shape, reconstruct, and change the mindset of individuals. In addition, the MCU as a group of superhero films also inserts various moral messages and life lessons that can be abstracted, and used as a metaphor by counselors in the practice of cinema counseling. However, more research is still needed regarding the use of MCU in cinema counseling to become a solid foundation for counselors to practice it.

Abstract

Need for achievement is the encouragement, both within and outside the individual, to perform certain behaviors. This encouragement is needed by individuals to achieve academic achievement in school. The purpose of this study was to determine the percentage of motivation for achieving adolescents in Malang, Indonesia. The research method used is quantitative with a descriptive type of research. The population of this study was 7183 junior high school students. The study led 315 students and sampled using proportional stratified random sampling. The data collection technique uses an achievement motivation scale developed by the researcher himself based on theory and data analysis using frequency in descriptive statistics. The results showed that 69% of adolescents were motivated to perform at a moderate level, 21% at a high level, and 10% at a low level.  This means that the level of motivation for achieving students at a moderate level needs to be improved through the support of parents and teachers, so that students can achieve the expected academic success.
