Abstract

The growing variety of beauty products is an advantage for consumers because they have many alternative choices to choose from. This makes it necessary for beauty clinics to read consumer desires in order to have loyal customers. The aim of this research is to determine the positive influence of halal awareness and religiosity on consumer decisions in choosing a Muslim beauty clinic. This research is quantitative research using a survey method. The population in this study were female consumers who were in Trenggalek Regency, East Java and had used Muslimah beauty clinic products and services. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling method with a sample size of 150 people. The results of this study indicate that halal awareness and religiosity have a positive influence on consumer decisions in choosing a Muslim beauty clinic. These results confirm that halal awareness is an important factor for Muslim consumers to evaluate products and convince them of the quality of the products being sold. In addition, with the large diversity of beauty products available, companies must pay attention to the value of religiosity as part of measuring a person's Islamic faith and contribute to determining purchasing decisions.

Abstract

In teaching and learning process, many students found difficulties in learning English. One of the difficulties was their lack of reading comprehension. Furthermore, the students have problem in reading comprehension to transfer information from the text and students’ motivation in reading text is still low. In addition the technique that was used by the teacher to teach students was monotonous, that it made students felt bored to join the English lesson. It was supported by the students’ reading score, that 74.42 % of students got < 70 score. For that reason, approaches are important to support success in teaching learning process to improve the students’ reading comprehension. The approaches are reading aloud and silent reading. Based on the opinion, the objective of this research is to find out whether there is a significant difference in students’ reading comprehension between those who are taught through reading aloud and those who are taught through silent reading. In this research, the researcher used causal comparative study method where there was one step in collecting the data; it was post test. The population of this research was the eighth grade of MTs PEMNU Talangpadang Tanggamus and the sample as chosen by doing cluster random sampling. Two classes were chosen as experimental class and control class. Experimental class was given treatment by using reading aloud and control class was given treatment by using silent reading. The researcher conducted five meetings in each class during the research, including four treatments and one post-test that was given to the students at the last meeting. The result of this research showing that there is a significant different of students’ reading comprehension between those who are taught through reading aloud and those who are taught through silent reading at the eighth grade of MTs PEMNU Talangpadang Tanggamus. It is proved by the result of statistical calculation using t-test formula. It is obtained that T-observed was 3.55, while the critical value of T-critical at degree of significance 5% and df = 54 was 2.00. Because T-observed is higher than T-critical value, it means the use of reading aloud and silent reading had significant difference in students’ reading comprehension.

Abstract

Eco-enzyme is a fermented product made from organic materials such as fruit and vegetable waste, brown sugar, and water. It is known to break down organic materials and effectively reduce pollutants. This community service activity aims to restore river water quality after flooding and enable water reuse for domestic use using eco enzymes. This program was implemented by involving local communities in the production process and application of eco-enzymes in Kenagarian Taluak Tigo Sakato, Batang Kapas, Pesisir Selatan, where flooding often occurs. Efforts included counselling and practical training on the benefits and methods of making eco-enzymes and the application of eco-enzymes to the use of water for household purposes by residents. Water quality was evaluated by measuring parameters such as pH, turbidity, organic matter content, and the presence of pathogenic microorganisms before and after the application of eco-enzyme. The results showed that the quality of river water used for domestic purposes improved significantly, with lower organic matter content and turbidity, and a decrease in the number of pathogenic microorganisms. This measure improved the river water quality and enabled the community to protect the environment and deal with post-flooding problems independently and sustainably.

Abstract

This study examines the causal relationship between Customer Involvement, Co-Creation Value, Satisfaction, and Loyalty in the context of collaboration-based customer relationship management. The main objective of this study is to understand how customer involvement in the service process can influence perceptions of shared value, increase satisfaction, and ultimately form strong customer loyalty. The theoretical approach used refers to Service-Dominant Logic, which places customers as active partners in value creation, not just recipients of services. Through a quantitative approach and structural equation modeling, this study finds that customer involvement plays an important role in creating more relevant and meaningful experiences, which in turn have a positive impact on satisfaction and loyalty. The practical implications of the results of this study emphasize the importance of participatory and interactive strategies, including the use of digital technology, to increase customer engagement. By building a more inclusive and responsive service system, companies can create long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with customers and increase competitive advantage in the digital economy era.

Abstract

Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) infections remain a major public health issue in Indonesia, particularly among elementary school children. Behavioral and socioeconomic factors, including mothers' knowledge, attitudes, and practices, are suspected to influence the incidence of these infections. This study aimed to determine the relationship between mothers’ level of knowledge, attitudes, and practices and the incidence of STH infections among students of SD Negeri 23 Pasir Sebelah, Koto Tangah, Padang, in 2023. An analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted involving 87 first to third-grade students and their mothers, selected through total sampling. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed that 6.9% of the children were infected with STH. Most mothers demonstrated good levels of knowledge, attitudes, and practices. There were significant associations between mothers’ knowledge (p=0.028), attitudes (p=0.000), and practices (p=0.000) and the incidence of STH infections. In conclusion, mothers’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices were significantly associated with STH infections among elementary school children, highlighting the importance of family health education in preventing parasitic infections.

Abstract

Stroke is a non-communicable disease (NCD) that causes death and disability in Indonesia. Half of strokes occur in those over 75 years of age. More than half of the elderly in Indonesia are at high risk (RISTI) for stroke. One effective stroke prevention strategy is to focus on the RISTI population, risk factor management, and implement the use of mobile technology (Electronic Health Information Technology) in health professionals and the general public. There are no trained health cadres in efforts to prevent stroke in the elderly using mobile technology in Nagari-Gurun-Panjang-Utara. Improving the knowledge and skills of village health cadres using the android application "Cegah-Stroke-Erdanela" in finding elderly RISTI-stroke. Community Empowerment is carried out using the Education and Training method, carried out face-to-face and through WhatsApp groups, implemented in Nagari Gurun Panjang Utara, Bayang District, South Coast Regency, West Sumatra Province in August 2024. Partners are 10 village health cadres. Cadre knowledge is measured using pre-test and post-test questionnaires, while cadre skills are measured by observation using a checklist. Data analysis is descriptive and presented with narratives, tables and pictures. The knowledge of village health cadres using the android application to find elderly RISTI-stroke, increased by 5.70. Village health cadres who are skilled at using the application properly and correctly at the end of the training were 90%. Education and Training have succeeded in increasing the knowledge and skills of village health cadres in using the android application to find elderly RISTI-stroke in an effort to prevent stroke.

Abstract

Depression is a serious mental health issue worldwide, a condition that can significantly affect a person's quality of life. Aromatherapy has emerged as a complementary therapy with the potential to alleviate symptoms of depression, offering a lower risk of side effects compared to conventional pharmacological treatments. This narrative review aims to evaluate the effectiveness of aromatherapy in reducing symptoms of depression, with a focus on the mechanisms of action of essential oils used in this therapy. A literature search was conducted using PubMed, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases from the year 2000 to 2023. Included articles consisted of randomized controlled trials (RCTs), systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. Essential oils such as lavender, bergamot, lemon, rose, and patchouli have been shown to be effective in reducing depressive symptoms. Their effectiveness is associated with increased levels of serotonin and dopamine, as well as suppression of hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis activity. Methods of administration, such as inhalation, massage, and diffuser use, produce varying outcomes depending on the characteristics of the studied population. Conclusion: Aromatherapy has potential as an effective complementary therapy for depression. Further research is needed to strengthen the evidence of its effectiveness across diverse populations and intervention durations.

Abstract

Thyroid disorders, including congenital hypothyroidism (HK), can have a serious impact on a baby's development if not detected early. The congenital hypothyroidism (SHK) screening program aims to detect HK early in newborns. In Indonesia, the SHK program began in 2008 and in West Sumatra since 2011. Iodine deficiency in some regions increases the risk of thyroid disorders. Padang City will start implementing this program in 2023 at Siti Rahmah Hospital. This study describes thyroid function in newborns in the SHK program at Siti Rahmah Padang Hospital in 2023. This study analyzes the thyroid function of newborns in the SHK program at Siti Rahmah Padang Hospital in 2023. The study used a cross-sectional design with secondary data through the total sampling technique. This study analyzed the frequency distribution of TSH levels, gender, weight, body length, head circumference, chest circumference, abdominal circumspect, and gestational age in newborns (BBL) in the SHK program at Siti Rahmah Padang Islamic Hospital 2023. The majority of respondents had normal status in a variety of parameters, with more babies born at full term. Most newborns have euthyroid TSH with normal physical development. Genetic factors, maternal nutrition, and prematurity affect the growth and development of the baby.

Abstract

The high incidence of DM causes diabetes to become a health problem. For this reason, other supportive therapies are needed such as the use of probiotics which are known to have antidiabetic effects, high antioxidants and as anti-inflammatory that can improve the structure and function of organs. This study aims to determine the effect of dadiah administration on the histopathological picture of liver hepatocyte cells in diabetic model mice. The research method was an experimental study of male white rats of the wistar strain of white rats, which were divided into control groups and treatment groups. The previous treatment group in Induction became a type 2 diabetes rat model by injecting Streptozotocin (STZ) 45 mg/kgBB intraperitoneally. Dadiah intervention and BAL isolates were administered for 2 months and were analyzed the histopathological picture of rat liver tissue after the intervention and compared with controls. The results of the study showed an improvement in the histopathological structure of the liver in DM rats that experienced damage to liver tissue hepatocyte cells by the administration of dadiah and probiotics (L. Fermentum) at both low dose and high dose (p-value 0.001). The conclusion that dadiah and probiotic dadiah have been shown to be pathologically anatomically beneficial to degenerative and necrotic liver hepatocyte cells in diabetic rat model, due to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity.

Abstract

Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) refers to a conscious effort by individuals to adopt healthy habits in their personal lives, within their families, and in the broader community. PHBS aims to prevent health problems through simple yet effective daily practices. The role of parents, the environment, and teachers is crucial in shaping students' behavior, especially during childhood. However, many elementary school students still lack sufficient knowledge about the importance of clean and healthy living habits. Therefore, educational initiatives are necessary to instill these positive behaviors from an early age. The session was carried out in an educational and interactive manner, incorporating direct practice, games, and quizzes. The PHBS education program took place at SDN 18 Bukit Kecil, Pesisir Selatan Regency, involving 30 student participants. The activity had a clear positive impact on students' knowledge and behavior regarding clean and healthy living practices. The success of the program was supported by strong collaboration between the community service team and the school. It is hoped that similar initiatives will continue to be implemented on a regular basis to cultivate a culture of clean and healthy living from an early age.
