Abstract

The prevalence of anemia among pregnant women in Garut is alarmingly high, reaching 6669 individuals. A survey carried out at the TPMB Hj. Husnul Khotimah area revealed that 3 out of 7 pregnant women suffer from anemia. This escalating prevalence underscores the necessity of identifying the causative factors associated with anemia. Anemia during pregnancy poses significant risks to both the mother and the fetus. Despite numerous governmental initiatives to prevent anaemia, its prevalence remains stubbornly high. Additional strategies and channels are imperative to curb this trend. This community service initiative aimed to enhance pregnant women's understanding of anaemia, encompassing its aetiology, consequences, and preventive measures. Twenty-five anaemic pregnant women participated in the activity, encompassing data collection, educational interventions, and comprehensive evaluation of field activities. Evaluation methods included interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions. The execution of this community service activity proceeded according to plan, with positive outcomes. Following counselling on anemia, 88% of participants were able to explain the concept of anemia during pregnancy, 72% were able to explain its aetiology and consequences, 76% were able to identify associated risk factors, 76% were able to recognize signs and symptoms, and 84% were able to explain methods for treatment and prevention. We advocate for pregnant women to prevent anaemia by incorporating iron-rich foods into their diets and adopting the DIHATIMO innovation to increase haemoglobin levels

Abstract

Managing a cooperative based on family economics and mutual cooperation really requires hard work and double enthusiasm. Cooperatives are seen as the right business entity to grow and support popular economic growth. Cooperatives are a pillar of the Indonesian economy. Cooperatives have various obstacles in terms of running their business and quite a few cooperatives do not grow despite the lack of need for information technology to support business processes and the lack of financial support (Wahid Iswara & Iswari, 2007). Of course, a strategy for potential cooperative development is needed. It is time for regional government institutions at sub-district level, such as those in Banjrnegara sub-district, Ciwanda sub-district, Cilegon city, to establish a cooperative institution to provide shelter for businesses and MSMEs.  Building quality businesses such as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are three different aspects but have the same aim, namely efficiency and increased results. Apart from that, in facing business challenges in the digital era, MSMEs need to adapt and be dynamic in technological developments. The goal of establishing a cooperative is of course to accommodate production results and savings and loan institutions based on a people's economy.  This is of course accompanied by MSME coaching which includes exposure, training through practice and mentoring. This method is quite appropriate to apply because the results of the activity show that the target audience has been able to identify HR empowerment through mentoring. Furthermore, in dealing with obstacles that arise in human resource management, the role of local government in the form of intensive and continuous training is needed.  This makes us aware that it is very important to carry out sustainable planning in industrial areas in rural areas, so that villages can develop through industry without experiencing the negative impacts mentioned previously

Abstract

Partners in implementing this international community service activity are Indonesian migrant workers from Penang Island and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia) Penang. The primary challenge confronting the partners is the low literacy and comprehension of sharia economic and financial practices and the utilization of digital technology in everyday life. This program was conducted at Wisma Indonesia, George Town, Penang, Malaysia. A total of 50 Indonesian migrant workers participated in the enrichment activities performed by the community service team in June 2024. The objective of the enrichment program, which is performed over a single day, is to facilitate comprehension of the tenets and practices of Islamic economics and finance among the partners. The program covers a range of topics, including but not limited to the principles of buying and selling, the operational aspects of Sharia banking, the managerial techniques associated with Sharia marketing, the intricacies of ZISWAF, the ethical considerations inherent to Islamic business practices, the fundamental principles of sharia investment, and the potential applications of digital technologies within the context of the sharia economy. It is evident that there is a pressing need for Indonesian migrant workers, the majority of whom are Muslim, to enhance their literacy and comprehension abilities. It is particularly crucial given that the topics have been selected according to their needs before the speakers arrive to provide the material. Following implementing the focus group discussion method, most migrant workers expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the activity, citing its effectiveness in facilitating their comprehension of authentic Sharia economic and financial practices. Additionally, using digital technology based on Sharia principles was identified as a valuable learning opportunity for migrant workers, enabling them to develop their careers while working in Malaysia. Implementing initiatives aimed at enhancing literacy and comprehension capacity represents an effort by Islamic universities to contribute to enhancing the competencies of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia. It is hoped that this can be implemented on a sustainable basis

Abstract

Companies must manage their finances well and in a planned manner. Sound financial management must be balanced with knowledge about finance. Costs are one of the economic elements that must be managed well and correctly. The costs greatly influence the size of a company's profit. One of the cost elements is production costs. This Community Service aims to provide knowledge about calculating production costs in making batik cloth. The training participants were 4 MSME actors in Selangor Malaysia whom Krafrtangan Malaysia appointed. The first stage was a field visit to see the batik cloth production process to see the cost components. The second stage was a presentation regarding the preparation of the HPP report. The third stage was assisting in compiling production costs by calculating the results of field visits. The fourth stage was an evaluation of the community service that had been carried out. The results of the assistance are successful because the 4 MSME actors could compile production costs and see the profit obtained from the sale of the cloth

Abstract

The Community Service International (CSI) project is a collaboration between the Veteran National Development University of Jakarta, Indonesia, and the University of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which focuses on improving the sales performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This activity targets Ayaq World Sdn Bhd (AWSB), a small business under the guidance of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) in Kuala Lumpur, which is engaged in the production and marketing of natural fruit juices.  The CSI team visited production sites, held face-to-face discussions, and analyzed the conditions and challenges faced by AWSB. Based on this analysis, the team proposed solutions, including the use of digital marketing to expand the market, increase interaction with consumers, and build brand awareness. This is expected to significantly increase AWSB's sales turnover. In addition to providing practical solutions, this activity also shows how academic collaboration can strengthen the relationship between the world of education and industry, create sustainable synergies, and encourage innovation in business strategies. Thus, CSI has succeeded in creating a sustainable positive impact, not only for AWSB, but also for other MSMEs who can benefit from the results and findings of this activity
