Abstract

The primary and fundamental education for a child begins within the family. Early childhood requires optimal caregiving from those around them, particularly their parents. However, in today's reality, many young parents are engaged in work, leading to child caregiving responsibilities being entrusted to caregivers, daycare centers, or other family members. According to data, 84.33% of Indonesian children are raised by both biological parents, while 2.51% are raised solely by their father, 8.43% solely by their mother, and 4.76% by other family members. In the Mangunsari area, caregivers are not only responsible for childcare but are also burdened with household chores, which divides their attention and reduces focus on the child. Therefore, introducing the responsive caregiving module serves as a solution to enhance the quality of childcare for children under the age of three.This community service initiative aims to improve caregiver competencies through the introduction of the responsive caregiving module, enhance their understanding of child development milestones, and develop their skills in providing educational games and creating appropriate play materials for child development. The implementation method consists of five stages: preparation, training and education, practical experience, mentoring, and evaluation with feedback. The results indicate that the responsive caregiving module effectively enhances caregivers' competencies in providing responsive care. Based on interviews and observations, 92% of participants showed improved understanding, while 89% demonstrated increased skills in responding to children's needs and desires. Therefore, this initiative contributes to improving the quality of childcare in the Mangunsari area of Semarang City.

Abstract

In the era of digitalization, cooperatives in Indonesia face challenges in preparing financial reports that are accurate, efficient, and transparent. Koperasi Panca Sejahtera Bersama (KOPASMA), located in Bekasi Regency, still encounters limitations in system-based financial recording and reporting. Therefore, innovation in the form of a financial information system is required. This community service activity aims to enhance KOPASMA’s capacity through the design and implementation of a cooperative financial application, namely the Financial Information System for Cooperatives for the Nation (SIKIRUN). The implementation method includes a needs analysis, system design, application development, user training, and assistance during implementation. Additionally, to enhance the cooperative's competitiveness in the digital era, this initiative also involves digital marketing strategies, including registering KOPASMA on various e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Tokopedia, Instagram, and WhatsApp Business, as well as developing a cooperative website to provide information to stakeholders. The documentation of this activity has been compiled into an educational video published on the institution's YouTube account to maximize its impact. Furthermore, the innovation in the design of the cooperative financial accounting system has been registered as Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia. The results of this activity indicate that the implementation of SIKIRUN has significantly improved the efficiency and accuracy of cooperative financial reporting. The utilization of digital platforms has also positively influenced marketing strategies and expanded the cooperative's business reach. Thus, this initiative contributes to strengthening cooperative financial governance and promoting the digital transformation of cooperatives in Indonesia.

Abstract

The English for Computing training program at SMK Jaya Buana aims to enhance students' communication skills in a professional context through the English for Specific Purposes (ESP) approach. This program is specifically designed for students in the Computer and Network Engineering (Teknik Komputer dan Jaringan, TKJ) department to help them understand technical terminology in English and use technical vocabulary in the language skills required in the field of computer and network engineering. The training consists of six stages: introduction, opening, vocabulary building, product analysis, practice, and closing, implemented using a scaffolding instructional strategy to ensure gradual and systematic learning. Additionally, interactive methods such as digital games, case studies, and presentation sessions are applied to increase student participation and comprehension. Evaluation results indicate a significant improvement in students' mastery of technical vocabulary and their English-speaking skills. Therefore, this training can serve as an effective learning model for other vocational schools seeking to implement the ESP approach in English instruction in a more contextual and applicable manner.

Abstract

The tree planting and maintenance movement in critical lands of Bekasi Regency is a community service activity organized by the Research and Community Service Institute of Universitas Islam 45, aimed at addressing environmental issues caused by land degradation, deforestation, and the lack of public awareness in maintaining the ecosystem.  Critical land in this area has the potential to cause negative impacts, such as erosion, decreased soil fertility, and reduced water absorption, which can increase the risk of floods and droughts.  Therefore, rehabilitation efforts are needed through tree planting and environmental maintenance involving various stakeholders.  The method of implementing the service adopts a participatory approach, including socialization and discussions with the West Java Regional Forestry Office 1.  The results of the activities show that tree planting was successfully carried out with the active participation of academics from Universitas Islam 45, local government, and the local community.  This program not only impacts environmental improvement but also raises public awareness about the importance of nature conservation.  The tree planting and maintenance movement has become a strategic step in rehabilitating critical land and creating a greener and more sustainable environment.  Collaboration between academics, the government, and the community is crucial to ensure the long-term sustainability of this program.

Abstract

The increasing trend of a healthy lifestyle among urban communities has driven innovation in urban agriculture, one of which is aquaponics technology. Aquaponics is a sustainable farming system that integrates fish farming and plant cultivation within a single ecosystem, making it an effective solution for utilizing home yards. The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi, as a higher education institution, has a responsibility to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, one of which is Community Service (PPM). This PPM activity aims to provide outreach and training on aquaponics to support the Diversified, Nutritious, Balanced, and Safe (B2SA) program at the Al-Hasan Mekarsari Foundation in Bogor. The program primarily involved female participants aged 21–30 years. The methods employed included education sessions, demonstrations, and hands-on practice in the installation and maintenance of aquaponic systems. The evaluation results indicated that participants comprehended the aquaponics concept and were capable of independently applying it at home. Furthermore, the program was perceived as beneficial in enhancing the availability of healthy food based on the B2SA principles within households. Through this initiative, the community is expected to adopt aquaponics technology as a practical solution for strengthening household food security and raising awareness of the importance of a healthy diet. Future sustainability of the program is anticipated to be expanded through further collaborations with various stakeholders to promote broader adoption of aquaponics in urban areas.

Abstract

Tenggarong Seberang Sub-district is an area with a diverse population in terms of religion, ethnicity, language, traditions and so on, so that schools as miniature communities also have diverse students. This causes the need for the cultivation of religious moderation values in schools. However, most of the PAI teachers at SMPN in the Tenggarong Seberang sub-district have not been able to fully integrate the values of religious moderation, especially in shaping classroom culture. The purpose of the service was to assist PAI teachers at SMPN Tenggarong Seberang in developing the value of religious moderation through classroom culture. This dedication uses the Participation Action Research (PAR) method. The results showed that the mentoring activities to PAI teachers in developing the value of religious moderation through classroom culture were successful in assisting in designing lesson plans that integrated the value of religious moderation and assisting the implementation of learning which showed that PAI teachers were able to develop the value of religious moderation in the aspect of classroom management, namely roling seating, students leading prayers alternately every meeting, reading religious moderation quotes; in the aspect of teaching methods and materials, namely questioning activities, material with themes that contain religious moderation values, and dialogical methods; and aspects of the classroom atmosphere in the form of writing religious moderation quotes, planning to decorate religious moderation quotes, making student profiles, procuring finding cabinets, and developing literacy corners with books that strengthen the cultivation of religious moderation values (for those that already exist) and procuring literacy corners for those that do not exist.

Abstract

The community empowerment program in Kampung Adat Ciptarasa, Sukabumi Regency, was implemented through an online-based approach as a form of community service to support the development of household industries. The primary problems identified among the partners included weak institutional governance, low product quality and production capacity, limited market access, and inadequate knowledge of business bookkeeping. The program engaged 20 partners who demonstrated willingness and commitment to participate as assisted partners. The implementation methods consisted of training and mentoring conducted both in person and online, alongside simulations and hands-on practice. The training materials covered: (1) strengthening institutional governance and business management; (2) improving product quality and production capacity; (3) developing business and digital marketing strategies; and (4) practicing simple bookkeeping for household industry actors. The results indicated an improvement in partners’ knowledge and skills in managing their businesses, utilizing digital marketing technology, and keeping financial records in a more organized manner. This program motivated household industry actors to seize market opportunities and optimize local potential. In conclusion, online-based empowerment proved effective in fostering the economic independence of the community, while serving as a concrete implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education by Universitas Djuanda, with direct benefits for the assisted partners’ welfare.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in driving local economic growth, particularly in rural areas. One MSME with significant development potential is “Keripik Si Umi,” located in Sukakarya Village, Bogor Regency. However, this MSME still faces challenges in packaging, labeling, and marketing, which limits its competitiveness in the market. This community service program aimed to provide assistance in improving product packaging, labeling, and online marketing. The implementation methods included an initial observation to identify problems, technical training on packaging and labeling, and direct mentoring in applying digital marketing strategies. The results indicated a significant improvement in packaging quality, shifting from simple LDPE plastic to standing pouch packaging made of polypropylene, which is more appealing and durable. In terms of labeling, the product now meets the standard consumer information requirements. Furthermore, product marketing has successfully expanded through online platforms, increasing market reach. This program concludes that the intervention enhanced the competitiveness of Keripik Si Umi by improving product quality and optimizing marketing, which is expected to contribute to increased sales revenue and sustainable business growth in the long term.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aimed to develop bilingual Mathematics and Science teaching materials using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. The target participants were Mathematics and Science teachers at SMP Kesatuan Bogor. The program was conducted throughout February 2026, employing the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). It began with a focus group discussion to identify relevant topics to be redesigned in English. Teachers were then trained on how to utilize AI tools such as ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Gamma to create contextual and level-appropriate materials. The outcome included two Mathematics and three Science learning modules written in English, enriched with problem-solving exercises in the form of case studies. Evaluation results indicated that the teachers were able to independently develop bilingual teaching materials, and students showed a high level of engagement with the content. This activity had a positive impact on enhancing teachers’ capacity to design innovative lessons and provided students with a more interactive and meaningful learning experience.

Abstract

Community service activities that focus on Character Development Assistance through Biology Learning have been successfully implemented. This program aims to foster students' moral attitudes by integrating moral values into Biology learning and encouraging students to understand and apply values such as caring for the environment, cooperation, and honesty in the learning process. The method of implementing activities in this training is the Participatory Action Research (PAR) Method as a form of counseling that involves the active participation of service participants.  PAR methods can be used to empower participants in the process of change. The results of the activity showed an increase in understanding among both teachers and students about the importance of teaching moral values. In addition, this activity also makes a positive contribution to the formation of students' character. Nonetheless, the authors suggest the need for further evaluation to assess the long-term impact of these activities, as well as the development of more comprehensive and sustainable learning models. It is also recommended that the dissemination of the results of activities to other schools can be felt more widely. This activity is a form of accountability for the implementation of community service programs.
