Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of a batik training program organized by LPK Prima Cilegon on community economic empowerment through a non-formal education approach. The program is designed to improve batik-making skills and foster entrepreneurship based on local potential. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that the training not only enhanced participants’ technical skills but also encouraged entrepreneurial spirit and expanded market access through digital platforms. The program had a positive impact on increasing income, strengthening social networks, and preserving local culture. The main targets of the program were women, housewives, and productive-age individuals without stable employment. Support from local government, industry, and community groups contributed to the program’s success as a participatory and sustainable model of skill-based economic empowerment.

Abstract

The low level of pedagogical skills among teachers in designing technology-based learning presents a significant challenge at Attarkiyah Islamiah Institute, Southern Thailand. Teachers face difficulties in creating digital teaching materials, utilizing interactive media, and fostering collaboration for instructional innovation. This community service project aimed to enhance teachers’ pedagogical competence through contextual, collaborative, and practical technology-based training. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR) with a participatory training approach, hands-on practice (microteaching), group work, and pre- and post-intervention evaluations. Twenty teachers from various disciplines participated in the program. The results indicated a significant improvement in three key areas: (1) the ability to design digital learning, (2) the skill to use interactive digital media, and (3) collaboration in developing innovative learning products. The training fostered a shift in teachers’ work culture—from individualistic to collaborative, and from passive to active and innovative. Moreover, the program reinforced the relevance of the TPACK framework, the learning-by-doing approach, and the Professional Learning Community (PLC) model in the context of Islamic education within a minority community. This initiative demonstrates that collaborative, practice-based training tailored to local values is effective in developing teacher competencies and promoting meaningful transformation in teaching practices.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to support the Indonesian National Police (Polri) transformation program toward a PRESISI institution (Predictive, Responsibility, and Fair Transparency) through the strengthening of communication strategies and visualization. The program involved 50 members of the Bekasi Police as training participants, focusing on enhancing public communication capacity and the utilization of visual media as an effective tool for delivering messages to the community. The methods applied included participatory training, interactive lectures, and simulations in designing visual messages aligned with the PRESISI principles. The results indicated an improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in managing institutional communication that is educational, informative, and persuasive. Moreover, participants were able to design simple yet communicative visual content to support the dissemination of Polri’s policies and programs to the public. This activity is expected to serve as an initial step in establishing more humanistic and transparent communication patterns between the police and the community, enabling the Bekasi Police to become a model for implementing the PRESISI transformation program. This community service activity aims to support the Indonesian National Police (Polri) transformation program toward a PRESISI institution (Predictive, Responsibility, and Fair Transparency) through the strengthening of communication strategies and visualization. Abstract

Digital technology has brought significant changes to education, especially in statistics and data analysis. Now, data processing skills are essential for students across all disciplines. R Studio, a popular open-source software for statistical analysis, can assist with this process. This community service activity consists of a workshop on using R Studio for industrial engineering and computer science students. The workshop aims to enhance understanding of R Studio's basic concepts and practical data analysis skills. Implementation methods include lectures, hands-on practice, and pre- and post-training evaluations. The material covers an introduction to R and R Studio; installation; basic R syntax; data import and manipulation; descriptive statistical analysis; and visualization using ggplot. Results showed that all participants understood the installation process and that 70% could use R Studio for statistical analysis and develop solutions. The final evaluation revealed that the training helped students solve data problems quickly and accurately.

Abstract

Baduy handicrafts, produced by the indigenous community in Kanekes Village, Banten, represent a unique blend of cultural heritage and sustainable craftsmanship. Despite their aesthetic and symbolic value, these products struggle to access wider markets due to limited digital literacy, informal marketing channels, and lack of export readiness. This study explores how retail management and digital adaptation strategies can enhance the competitiveness of Baduy crafts while respecting cultural norms.Using a participatory qualitative approach, the research involved interviews, observations, and group discussions with 25 Outer Baduy artisans on June 26-27, 2025. Findings reveal that artisans face challenges in pricing, product standardization, packaging, and platform usage (e.g., Amazon, Etsy). However, short-term interventions—such as branding, digital training, and basic e-commerce exposure—improved production quality, raised market awareness, and engaged youth as agents of innovation. The study concludes that culturally contextualized retail strategies can enable indigenous crafts to enter global markets without compromising identity. Strategic recommendations include capacity building in export logistics, platform onboarding, storytelling-based branding, and cooperative-based distribution systems. Empowering the younger generation and fostering collaboration are key to sustaining transformation. The Baduy case illustrates that tradition and technology can coexist to foster inclusive, ethical trade.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance local food security through the construction and utilization of a greenhouse in Tellumpanua Village, Tanete Rilau District, Barru Regency, as an adaptation measure to the impacts of climate change. The greenhouse serves as a horticultural production facility capable of controlling temperature, humidity, and light intensity, enabling crops to grow optimally throughout the year. The activities were carried out through several stages, including planning, facility construction, management training for farmer groups, and assistance during the cultivation process. The results indicate that the use of greenhouses can increase productivity and crop quality while reducing the risk of crop failure due to extreme weather. Collaboration among universities, farmers, and the village government was identified as a key factor contributing to the program’s success. The application of greenhouse technology is expected to be replicated in other areas as a sustainable agricultural adaptation strategy to climate change.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen character and environmental awareness among elementary school children through educational animated films. The activity was carried out at JARI 2 Elementary School, involving fourth and fifth-grade students as the main participants. The method included screening of animation films with character-building and environmental themes, interactive discussions, and reflective activities through drawing and storytelling. The selected films were chosen based on their moral values, environmental messages, and age-appropriateness. The results indicate that animated films successfully captured students’ attention, facilitated understanding of values such as responsibility, cooperation, and environmental care, and encouraged positive behavioral changes in daily life. Furthermore, there was a noticeable increase in students' active participation in maintaining school cleanliness and environmental preservation. This activity demonstrates that enjoyable and meaningful visual media can serve as an effective tool for early character education and environmental awareness.
