Maalim Jurnal Pendidikan Islam adalah jurnal yang dikelola oleh Juruasan Pendidikan Agama Islam Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Ilmu Keguruan IAIN Ponorogo. Maalim Jurnal Pendidikan Islam terbit dua kali dalam satu tahun yaitu di bulan Juni dan Desember. Abstract

In Indonesia, efforts to prevent inter-religious conflict must be encouraged. Instilling Religious Tolerance Attitudes among students will make the next generation of the nation accustomed to respecting differences so that they can maintain harmony in a pluralistic society. This study aims to determine (1) the influence of Self-Control and Educational Environment factors on Religious Tolerance Attitudes and (2) the regression model of Religious Tolerance Attitudes based on the factors of Self-Control and Educational Environment. This study uses a quantitative approach with a linear regression analysis technique. Data were obtained from a sample of 189 high school students. The results of the study showed: (1) Self-Control and Educational Environment have a significant effect on the Religious Tolerance Attitudes with R2 of 44.9%; and (2) The regression model is, Y = 42.010 + 0.310X1 + 0.251X2, meaning that Self-Control and Educational Environment have a positive effect on increasing the Religious Tolerance Attitudes.

Abstract

Di era pembelajaran modern, pendekatan tradisional dalam Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dianggap kurang efektif dalam membangun pemahaman mendalam dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Model Learning Cycle 5E menjadi alternatif inovatif untuk menciptakan pembelajaran aktif dan reflektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji penerapannya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan materi PAI, khususnya tentang puasa. Model ini terdiri dari lima tahap yang melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dengan analisis literatur relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Model Learning Cycle 5E dapat meningkatkan partisipasi, kemampuan analitis, dan pemahaman materi PAI. Model ini juga membantu siswa mengaitkan ajaran Islam dengan kehidupan nyata dan memperkuat sikap spiritual. Namun, ada hambatan seperti keterbatasan waktu dan kesiapan guru. Dengan perencanaan yang baik, model ini bisa menciptakan suasana belajar yang dinamis dan bermakna, dan diharapkan menjadi acuan untuk strategi pembelajaran PAI yang lebih relevan dengan kebutuhan zaman.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pemanfaatan gamifikasi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam. Di tengah kemajuan teknologi dan inovasi dalam metode pengajaran, gamifikasi menawarkan pendekatan yang menarik dan melibatkan siswa secara aktif sebagai solusi atas tantangan dalam dunia pendidikan. Dengan memanfaatkan elemen-elemen permainan seperti poin, level, tantangan, dan hadiah, gamifikasi diharapkan mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan serta mendorong partisipasi siswa secara lebih aktif dalam pembelajaran agama. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka untuk mengeksplorasi pengaruh gamifikasi terhadap pemahaman materi PAI dan peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan gamifikasi mampu meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar, mempermudah pemahaman konsep-konsep ajaran Islam, serta mendorong siswa untuk lebih aktif terlibat dalam pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, gamifikasi dapat dilihat sebagai strategi yang efektif untuk mengoptimalkan pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam, khususnya di tengah perkembangan dunia digital saat ini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi nilai-nilai QS. Luqman Ayat 12-19 dalam pembentukan karakter siswa di SD Negeri Pacarpeluk. Nilai-nilai pendidikan Luqman Hakim yang diangkat meliputi akidah, syari’ah, dan akhlak yang bersumber dari nasihat Luqman Hakim dalam Al-Qur’an Surat Luqman ayat 12-19. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan observasi dan wawancara pada proses pembelajaran di SD Negeri Pacarpeluk. Implementasi nilai-nilai QS. Luqman Ayat 12-19 dalam pembentukan karakter siswa di SD Negeri Pacarpeluk dilakukan dengan memberikan nasihat dan tauladan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi ini efektif dalam membentuk karakter religius, disiplin, dan sikap sopan santun pada siswa, sekaligus relevan dengan kebutuhan pendidikan Islam di era modern. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan integrasi antara pendidik dan orangtua dalam pembentukan karakter siswa.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi secara mendalam bagaimana Pendidikan Islam itu harus direkonstruksi di tengah-tengah keterdesakan degradasi moral dan karakter yang semakin merosot. Hal menarik lainnya, tantangan yang semakin kompleks tersebut berada pada era di mana kecerdasan buatan atau Artificial Intelligence sudah sangat mendominasi kehidupan umat manusia yang pada akhirnya merubah totalitas perilaku manusia baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kepustakaan, di mana acuan utamanya adalah mencoba menggabungkan berbagai literatur yang kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis konten. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Pendidikan Islam harus memiliki komitmen yang lebih di dalam mengembangkan pendidikan akhlak, adab, maupun pendidikan karakter dengan tidak hanya berbicara ayat Al-Qur`an, namun bagaimana ayat Al-Qur`an itu bisa ditransmisikan secara pasti dan memiliki dampak yang dapat terukur di dalam kehidupan yang nyata.

Abstract

The students of Six Grade are the highest-class students at Arrisalah Islamic International College, however, some of them are still not noble. As the results of the author's interviews with several students of class VI, they realize that their morals are still not good. If this reality continues to occur, then the next generation will be even more damaged. Moreover, Six Grade students will become teachers because they are charged with serving in Islamic educational institutions after graduation. So it is necessary to have methods of fostering morals and the best methods can be found in them. The purpose of this study was to find out (1) the methods of assisting students in nurturing the morals of students of class VI Kulliyyatu-l-Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyyah Arrisalah Islamic International College (2) the obstacles faced by assistants caring for students in developing the morals of students of class VI Kulliyyatu -l-Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyyah Arrisalah Islamic International College. This research uses a qualitative approach and field research type of research. The data collection process uses in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation and documentation. While the data analysis technique used is the flow technique from Miles and Huberman which includes three steps, namely data collection, data presentation, and conclusions. From the analysis of the data it was found (a) methods of assisting the upbringing of students in fostering the morals of class VI students, including: (1) the method of religious awareness by praying in congregation (2) the method of giving stories of the Prophet (3) the exemplary method (4) the method of habituation (5) methods of giving rewards and punishments. And (b) the obstacles faced by the santri parenting assistant in fostering the morals of Six Grade students are (1) the lack of religious awareness of some Six Grade students of the importance of having noble morals (2) the abundance of information and easy access to it (3) the cultural diversity of students (heterogeneity). The author hopes that the assistants caring for the students of Arrisalah  Islamic International College will always be consistent in carrying out their duties and programs in fostering the morals of Six Grade students so that their morals become good and noble.

Abstract

This study examines Muslim students' perceptions of religious moderation towards non-Muslim peers and the role of multicultural education in fostering tolerance at SMAN 1 Karas, against the backdrop of interreligious conflicts among school-aged adolescents. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentary analysis, with triangulation applied to ensure validity. The findings reveal three key insights: firstly, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character Education teachers play a pivotal role in instilling multicultural values through classroom instruction, mentoring, and collaborative extracurricular activities, emphasising principles of justice, equality, and respect for diversity rooted in Islamic teachings. Secondly, Muslim students predominantly exhibit positive attitudes towards non-Muslim peers, perceiving religious pluralism as integral to Islamic values that uphold fairness and mutual recognition. Thirdly, harmonious interfaith interactions are evident in both academic settings—such as group discussions and collaborative projects—and non-academic spheres, including basketball, scouting, and English club activities, which serve as practical platforms for embodying pluralism and democratic values. The study concludes that SMAN 1 Karas’s integrative approach to multicultural education effectively promotes religious moderation and mitigates sectarian tensions, recommending its contextual adaptation for other educational institutions. These findings contribute to broader discourses on inclusive pedagogy and institutional strategies for nurturing tolerance, underscoring the interplay between curricular frameworks, teacher agency, and student-led socialisation processes in shaping interreligious dynamics within school environments.

Abstract

This study aims to explore Ibn Sahnun's thoughts on the role of teachers in character education, especially those contained in his work Adab Al-Muallimin, and examine its relationship to character education in the modern era. We conducted this study using Literature Study, namely by observing and researching existing scientific works, such as journals, books and relevant articles. From the various data we collected, it can be explained that Ibn Sahnun emphasized the importance of teacher role models, a humanist approach, and instilling moral values ​​in the learning process. Teachers, according to Ibn Sahnun, do not only act as educators, teachers are role models, as moral guides, and facilitate the learning process to be more conducive. Ibn Sahnun's thoughts on character education are still relevant today, especially in facing the challenges of globalization and moral crisis. This study is expected to contribute to the development of holistic and meaningful moral education strategies for the next generation of the nation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Islamic education and neuroscience as a hybrid paradigm in contemporary education. Islamic education ontologically emphasizes the unity of the spiritual, intellectual, and physical in the educational process, while neuroscience provides a scientific basis for brain function, emotions, and behavior in learning. Using a descriptive qualitative approach based on literature review, this study found significant intersections between the two in forming a holistic educational paradigm. This hybridization is realized through the development of an educational model that is not only oriented towards intellectual development but also towards the formation of character and spiritual awareness of students. This integration can be implemented through curriculum design, Islamic neuroeducation-based learning strategies, and the strengthening of faith values in pedagogical practice. This study recommends further development in the realm of educational practice, so that the integration of the values of revelation and reason can become the foundation for the transformation of adaptive and transformative Islamic education in the modern era.

Abstract

Guiding and educating children to perform the prayer ritual is a commandment. In Islam, prayer is a key pillar that holds a central position in the religious life of Muslims. Through religious education, particularly regarding prayer from an early age, children can be encouraged to understand and develop a love for their religion. Deaf children, although experiencing a relatively slow development compared to children in general, still possess potential that can be developed, especially with appropriate guidance methods. From an Islamic perspective, children with special needs remain individuals who deserve attention for the benefit of their lives, even though they do not yet have full obligations to carry out religious laws. Children with special needs experience obstacles in the learning and development process, so they require educational services tailored to their character and learning needs. This research ams to determine how the practice of prayer for deaf children is implemented at the Banyuates State Special School for the Special Needs. This research used qualitative field methods, with data collection techniques including interviews and observations. The research results show that the implementation of prayer practices for deaf children at Banyuates State Special School is carried out through a learning method of habituation and practice (drill). The deaf children at Banyuates State Special School can follow the prayer movements well, and the school also implements congregational Dhuhr prayer. This helps the children become accustomed to and fluent in following the prayer movements even though they don't know the prayer recitations by heart.
