Rengganis Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi S1 Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Mataram yang memuat artikel-artikel ilmiah mengenai berbagai aktivitas pengabdian dan pemberdayaan masyarakat dari berbagai disiplin ilmu. Abstract

The rapid development of information technology requires the education sector to adapt to more interactive and innovative digital-based learning. One effective medium is Scratch, a visual programming application that is easy to use for creating educational games. However, at SD Negeri 02 Paluhombo, learning is still predominantly conducted using conventional methods, causing students to quickly lose interest and lack motivation. Based on this problem, this community service activity aimed to improve students’ conceptual understanding through guided use of educational games based on Scratch. The method employed was Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR), involving active participation of fifth and sixth grade students in five stages: problem identification, collaborative planning, implementation of guidance, evaluation, and follow-up. The instruments used included pre-tests, post-tests, and student satisfaction questionnaires. The evaluation results showed that all students experienced an improvement in learning outcomes after the intervention. Pre-test and post-test results were used to measure students' conceptual understanding, while satisfaction questionnaires assessed students’ responses to the guidance process. The Wilcoxon test showed significant values of 0.026 for Grade V and 0.001 for Grade VI (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores. The guidance on using Scratch-based educational games proved effective in enhancing students' conceptual understanding

Abstract

The issue of low conceptual understanding of mathematics, particularly in multiplication, at SD Negeri 02 Mojorejo prompted this community service initiative. The approach used involved the application of digital learning media through the Math Playground website to assist third and fourth-grade students in grasping multiplication concepts in an interactive and engaging manner. The goal of this activity was to enhance students' conceptual understanding of mathematics through guided implementation of Math Playground. The method employed was Participatory Action Research (PAR), which consisted of four stages: identifying the problem, understanding the solution, taking action, and implementing change through evaluation. Results indicated a significant improvement in students' conceptual understanding based on the pretest and posttest results, analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, with a significance value (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.046. Additionally, student satisfaction surveys revealed that most students found the platform helpful, motivating, and more engaging for learning mathematics. Thus, this digital media serves as an effective alternative for mathematics instruction at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The Competency Certification Examination (UKK) at SMK Negeri 1 Cempaga was conducted as a strategic response to the need for vocational school graduates to meet the demands of the industry. Given the gap between school-based learning and real-world expectations, this community service initiative aimed to bridge that divide by strengthening students’ practical readiness through a structured certification process. Specifically, the UKK assesses students' skills in Computer and Network Engineering. The implementation of the UKK follows several stages, including preparation and coordination, exam package selection, pre-UKK simulation, examination execution, and evaluation with follow-up actions. The preparation phase involved collaboration between the school and Universitas Darwan Ali to ensure a smooth process. The pre-UKK simulation plays a crucial role in providing students with practical experience prior to the actual exam. The UKK was conducted with the involvement of external assessors from Universitas Darwan Ali, who objectively evaluated the students' competencies. The evaluation results indicated that most of the participants successfully completed the tasks according to industry standards. However, a challenge arose due to the limited preparation time, as the UKK was scheduled only a month after the completion of the Industrial Work Practice (PKL). Consequently, recommendations for improvements were made to optimize the UKK implementation in the following years. Overall, the UKK activity provided valuable experience for students and served as a benchmark for their readiness to enter the workforce

Abstract

The stages of child development from infancy to early childhood are crucial moments and require effective stimulation in order to improve the quality of children's lives in the next stage. The early childhood period begins when children are 0-8 years old. For parents to be able to improve their understanding and knowledge regarding parenting patterns in order to optimize child development at an early age. The design in this training uses the Experiential Learning model. The method used in this training is the provision of pre-test and post-test lectures and question-answer panels. Based on the results of the comparative analysis of pre-test and post-test answers, it can be concluded that the Parent Development (BOT) training held this time was able to improve the understanding and knowledge of training participants. A total of 18 out of 21 participants showed significant differences in the answers to the pre-test and post-test results they worked on. The majority of these participants were seen to be able to further elaborate and explain their answers according to the training material that had been given previously. This training requires further in-depth and continuous observation to ensure that there are indeed changes, in this case improvements, to the understanding and knowledge of training participants regarding optimal learning methods applied to early childhood.

Abstract

Plastic waste is a major environmental problem because it is a type of waste that is very difficult to decompose. The lack of educational activities involving children in plastic waste processing results in low awareness and limited involvement in efforts to maintain environmental sustainability. This leads to a lack of environmental responsibility among the younger generation, who should be the agents of change for a better future. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide training to children in Gampong Bakoy, Ingin Jaya District, Aceh Besar, regarding the impact of plastic waste on the environment and creative ways to process it. Through this training, it is hoped that children can develop an enviromentally conscious character from an early age. This activity was attended by children from TPA Pelita Hati, aged 5 to 12 years. The activity was carried out over two days. Based on the evaluation results, data showed an increase in understanding of the impact, types, and classification of waste (98%), an increase in enviromentally conscious behavior (97%), and an increase in children’s creativity in making products from plastic waste (96%).

Abstract

Saat ini, jumlah kasus kekerasan seksual yang terjadi pada anak di bawah umur sangat memprihatinkan. Anak dianggap lemah dan tidak berdaya, yang membuat mereka rentan terhadap pelecehan seksual. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman kita tentang tubuh dan identitas anak. Pengabdian dengan judul "Edukasi Anggota Tubuh untuk Membangun Perlindungan Diri pada Anak" membantu anak-anak belajar tentang tubuh mereka dan menjadi lebih sadar diri. Anak-anak sekolah dasar dari Gampong Meunasah Baro Aceh Besar, total 20 orang, terlibat dalam pengabdian ini. Bagian tubuh, area sentuhan aman, jenis sentuhan, dan metode melindungi diri adalah subjek pengabdian Sebelum pengabdian, anak-anak diberikan tes pre-test untuk mengetahui pengetahuan anak dan mengetahui seberapa efektif hasilnya. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak belajar lebih banyak tentang tubuh mereka, bagaimana menjaga diri mereka sendiri, dan tentang perasaan aman dan tidak aman.

Abstract

Community service activities through Field Study and Community Service (KKN) program on the urgency of the role of environmental health in preventing dengue fever in children in Pasie Lamgarot village aim to increase understanding and awareness of the community, especially parents and communities, about the importance of maintaining environmental hygiene to prevent the development of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes that cause dengue fever. This activity is in line with the Tri Dharma of higher education and provides students with learning and working experience through community socialization activities in Pasie Lamgarot village, Ingin Jaya District, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province. So that it can be utilized as a potential to develop and provide new knowledge to the community in Pasie Lamgarot Village, Ingin Jaya District, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province. The target group together with KKN students accompanied by field supervisors carry out activities (KKN) together. The socialization activity carried out is the literacy of the urgency of the role of environmental health in preventing dengue fever in children in Pasie Lamgarot Village. The results of community service activities through the KKN program have increased community understanding which is expected to create a healthier environment and minimize the incidence of dengue fever in children in Pasie Lamgarot Village.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide guidance to students in making environmentally based periscope teaching aids using the E-STEM PjBL model at SD Negeri 2 Klieng. This activity was carried out in three stages, namely the preparation stage, including coordinating the implementation with partners, which was carried out in June, the implementation stage, namely carrying out activities to make environmentally based periscope props, which were carried out by students and assisted by guidance by teachers and the Unaya TEAM, which was carried out in the month of June. September, the third stage of evaluation is to evaluate activities so as to obtain advantages and disadvantages which will be used as a reference for future activities carried out in September. The results obtained from this activity are project learning by making environmentally based periscope props which can increase students' creativity very well. The conclusion of this activity is that students are able to make environmentally based periscope props so that they can increase students' creativity when studying in class.

Abstract

Abstract This community service aims to explain how the orovera manueka song is revived through performances to students. Therefore, support for mentoring and implementing the preservation of the ancestral heritage of the Nataia tribe, especially the orovera manukeka song, is a concern for teachers, the community, academics (universities) and the local government so that they can convey feelings, stories, or deep experiences about traditional songs. This community service is located in Aeramo Village, Aesesa District, Nagekeo Regency. The techniques used are in three stages, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The instruments that will be used are in the form of interview guidelines and cameras for documentation. The subjects in this community service are traditional functionaries, educational institutions and community leaders who are considered to have knowledge about the objects in this community service aims to explain how the orovera manueka song is revived through performances to students. Abstract

The availability and utilization of Mathematics Learning Resource Centers (LRC) play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of teaching in elementary schools. LRC integrated with IT can assist teachers in designing engaging, interactive, and relevant lessons, while also fostering students’ interest in learning. However, field observations reveal that teachers' access to digital learning resources remains limited, and the integration of technology in mathematics instruction is still suboptimal. To address this issue, the program provided training for elementary school teachers on effectively utilizing digital-based learning resource centers. The main objective in this community service is to improve teachers' skills in using LRC as a supportive medium for mathematics instruction in the classroom. The training was conducted through discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on simulations, involving 18 elementary school teachers from Puyung. Evaluation results, obtained through questionnaires, indicate that participants (1) showed high enthusiasm throughout the training, (2) were able to operate the digital LRC independently, and (3) responded positively to the usefulness of LRC in supporting the teaching and learning process. It is expected that this training will broaden teachers’ knowledge and skills in utilizing technology,and contribute to the improvement of mathematics teaching quality at the elementary school level.
