Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of technology usage on the work ethic of educators and students in Islamic Education learning at SMPN 2. The approach used is qualitative research with a case study design, involving data collection through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results of the study show that the use of technology has both positive and negative impacts on the work ethic of both parties. For educators, technology facilitates access to teaching materials, improves time efficiency, and enriches teaching methods, which leads to an increase in motivation and commitment to performing teaching duties. However, the main challenge faced is how to ensure that technology does not diminish the moral and spiritual values that are the core of Islamic Education. For students, technology enhances motivation and engagement in learning, provides flexibility in studying, and makes access to teaching materials easier. Nevertheless, there is a tendency for students to be distracted by other technological features, which can reduce their focus on religious studies. This study also finds that technology can be optimized by designing its use in a planned and directed manner, both for educators and students, so that it remains in line with the objectives of Islamic Education, which emphasizes character building and morality.

Abstract

This article presents a literature review on the effectiveness of the Hands-on Activity approach in enhancing students’ SPS. Data were obtained from 15 national and international research articles that met the inclusion criteria, namely discussing science learning based on direct activities, employing experimental methods, and providing data related to SPS development. Data analysis was conducted thematically by identifying patterns from instructional designs, SPS outcomes, and implementation contexts, with the aim of systematically reviewing the effectiveness of the Hands-on Activity approach in improving students' science process skills. The review findings consistently show that Hands-on Activity positively influences both basic SPS (such as observing, classifying, and measuring) and integrated skills (such as designing experiments and interpreting data). In addition to cognitive improvements, this approach also contributes to affective and psychomotor aspects, including learning motivation, scientific attitudes, and collaboration skills. Various forms of implementation—such as activity-based worksheets, simple laboratory tools, and digital technologies—highlight the flexibility of this method in diverse school contexts. Therefore, the Hands-on Activity approach is recommended as an effective, contextual, and adaptive teaching strategy for strengthening students’ SPS in science education

Abstract

This study discusses the form of the initial emergence of social movements carried out by the community in order to reject mining activities in the Konawe Islands region. The community carried out various forms of action as a form of rejection of government policies that were considered detrimental. Through the unification of forces in an organization called the Southeast Sulawesi People's Front Bela Wawonii (FRSBW), the community has a forum to voice their aspirations and concerns about the potential negative impacts of the presence of mining companies. This study uses social movement analysis according to Macionis, which groups social movements into three stages: the initial stage (emergence), the consolidation stage (coalescence), and the goal achievement stage. The research approach used is qualitative, with data collection techniques through field observations of community resistance actions against the entry of mining activities on Wawonii Island. Data analysis is conducted qualitatively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that the emergence of this movement is born from the public's concerns and various issues circulating regarding the threats posed by mining activities, especially since Wawonii Island is categorized as a small island that is vulnerable to the dangers of mining impacts.

Abstract

The TGT model is one of the learning approaches that involves group work and healthy competition between students. Snakes and ladders media is used as a fun and familiar learning aid for students, so that it can increase their interest and motivation to learn. This study aims to determine the effect of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model with snakes and ladders adventure learning media on the learning outcomes of grade 2 Elementary School students on energy source material. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design and uses a pretest-posttest control group design. The techniques used in this study are using the normality test, homogeneity test and t-test. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class (using the TGT model and snakes and ladders media) and the control class (using conventional learning). The instrument used was an essay test of 10 questions for the pretest and posttest. The results of data analysis using the t-test showed a significant difference between student learning outcomes in the experimental class and the control class. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the TGT model with snakes and ladders media has a positive effect on improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the achievement of basic literacy competencies of primary school students (SD/MI) and identify the factors that have the most influence on literacy completion. This study used a quantitative approach with the discriminant analysis method. The sample consisted of 90 students from grades 1 to 6 in Indramayu district, purposively selected based on variations in Indonesian language scores. The data collection instrument used Tactical Map 2.1 which measured students' abilities in reading, writing, and communication. Data were analyzed using Wilks' Lambda test and discriminant function coefficients to identify the dominant factor in differentiating literacy achievement. The results of the analysis showed the discriminant model was significant (Wilks' Lambda = 0.336; p < 0.001). The ability to write (0.736) and communicate (0.616) were the most dominant factors differentiating the completed and non-completed student groups, followed by reading (0.464). Meanwhile, age (0.047) and gender (0.214) had lower contributions. The findings suggest that strengthening literacy should include productive aspects, not just receptive, and encourage the transformation of holistic learning strategies in primary schools.
