Abstract

The rapid development of social media has significantly influenced children's behavior, including elementary school (SD) students. One of the trending activities is the TikTok dance challenge, which involves creating and sharing dance videos through the TikTok platform. This research aims to examine the impact of the TikTok dance trend on the characteristics of elementary school students. This article is a literature review that seeks to analyze how the TikTok dance trend affects the characteristics of elementary school students from social, emotional, and academic aspects. This study employs a qualitative approach using literature review methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through relevant scientific sources in databases on Google Scholar. Data analysis techniques were conducted qualitatively with stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The study results show that this trend has a dual impact, on one hand supporting children's self-expression and creativity, but on the other hand causing challenges such as learning distractions and the negative influence of adult content. Therefore, the role of guidance from parents and teachers becomes the key factor in minimizing the negative effects of this trend.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the speaking learning process and identify the obstacles faced by students in speaking lessons in the ninth grade. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, involving 20 students as research subjects. This study employs a descriptive method. The data sources for this research consist of interview results, observations, and written archives. The informants include teachers, school principals, and students. Data validity testing was carried out using source triangulation, method triangulation, and informant review. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive analysis model. The research results indicate that speaking lessons are still teacher-centered, with monotonous and less varied methods, leading to low student participation. Students tend to feel shy and lack confidence when asked to speak in front of the class. The challenges faced include a lack of engaging learning media, as well as internal and external factors that affect students' speaking abilities. This research provides recommendations to improve students' speaking skills through more interactive and creative learning methods, as well as support from the family and school environment.

Abstract

Reading ability in elementary school is a topic that is always interesting to present. Many students still struggle to read a word. This behavior impacts students' poor reading ability in higher grades. The lack of teachers' knowledge in applying innovative teaching methods can create obstacles during the learning process. This study aims to determine the application of the syllable method in the early reading skills material for first-grade elementary school students. This research uses qualitative research. The subjects in this descriptive qualitative study are first-grade students. In this study, the researcher used class I-C based on the results of a random selection of subjects that had been conducted. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis with stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the data analysis indicate that the learning outcomes in the initial reading ability of Grade I-C students before the syllable method was applied in the learning activities had a score category below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) and less than the target of maximum learning achievement. The application of the syllable method can increase the level of student activity, especially in students' initial reading abilities. This can be seen from the results of observations that show students experienced an increase in percentage from each assessment item

Abstract

The learning of IPAS (Natural and Social Sciences) tends to present abstract concepts that are difficult for elementary school students, especially in the fourth grade, to understand. Old and conventional learning media that are verbal tend to be less effective in enhancing students' conceptual understanding. Therefore, there is a need for more interesting, interactive, and effective learning media, one of which is the use of audio-visual media. This research aims to determine whether the use of audio-visual media is effective in improving the conceptual understanding of IPAS among fourth-grade students at Selanegara State Elementary School 1. This research uses a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The instrument used was a test to measure the understanding of IPAS concepts before and after the treatment. The sample in this study consisted of fourth-grade students from SD Negeri 1 Selanegara. The data analysis technique used was the t-test. The results showed an increase in the average score from 69 in the pretest to 87 in the posttest. The t-test indicated that this increase was statistically significant with a significance value of <0.001. Additionally, the students showed higher enthusiasm and paid more attention during the learning when audio-visual media was used.
