Unram Journal of Community Services (UJCS) is a scientific multidisciplinary journal published by Postgraduate Mataram University, Indonesia. It is at the national level that covers a lot of common problems or issues related to community services. The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate the conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved in the area of community services. It contains various activities of the teaching staff in Mataram University and other University in handling and managing the various potentials, obstacles, challenges, and problems that exist in society. Implementation of service activities also involves the participation of the community and partners. Service activities are organized into an activity aimed at improving the welfare of society. Any interested authors could submit their manuscripts in English or Bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) aims to improve the digital skills of MSME actors in rural areas, especially in online marketing, through online training using the Zoom platform. This activity is motivated by the low digital skills of MSMEs in rural areas, which limits their access to the digital market. The method used is participatory action research (PAR), involving 30 MSME actors who are selected by purposive sampling. The training lasts four weeks and includes two weekly sessions, covering material on digital marketing, the use of social media, e-commerce, and marketing performance monitoring. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' digital skills, with an average pre-test score of 45 increasing to 80 on the post-test. Implementing the skills learned also resulted in an increase in engagement on social media by 40% and an increase in online transactions by 20%-30%. Participants gave positive feedback regarding the relevance of the training and the application of the skills taught. This activity fills the gap in previous research by focusing on practical strategies adapted to the conditions of MSMEs in rural areas. The main obstacle faced is the problem of internet connectivity, which needs to be considered in the next training. Overall, this activity has succeeded in increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs in the digital market

Abstract

The Tanimbar Islands are one of the areas in Maluku Province which is classified as an underdeveloped area in Indonesia and is included in the 3T category. This district borders directly with Australia. The underdevelopment of the Tanimbar Islands covers various sectors including education. The quality of teachers, availability of books, and other facilities and infrastructure are still very minimal. The results of observations and discussions with teachers at Naskat II Elementary School Santo Ignatius Olilit Timur showed that the development of devices is still less innovative because teachers do not participate in training that supports improving teacher competence in science learning in the classroom. Therefore, the purpose of this service is to increase the capacity of teachers in developing innovative learning devices to support 21st century life skills. Therefore, professional lecturers from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Pattimura University, conducted training and mentoringin developing learning tools based on innovative learning.The results achieved from this activity mentoring are 86.28%teachers have been able to develop science learning tools well. Therefore, it is important for lecturers, Widyaiswara at the Education Quality Assurance Center (BPMP) in each province, school supervisors and education observers to continue to collaborate with teachers in sharing experiences and knowledge in improving teacher capacity

Abstract

Bees are honey-producing insects from the genus apis. In addition to honey, bees also produce pollen, royal jelly, propolis, beeswax and bee venom. Honey products that are widely found in Indonesia come from local honey bees, superior bees, wild bees, and lanceng bees. The high demand has driven up the price of honey bee products. Propolis has various health benefits such as containing high antioxidants and phenols, so it has the potential to cure various diseases such as toothache, influenza, diabetes mellitus, tuberculosis, and others. The purpose of this community service is to provide assistance to students regarding environmental awareness of honey bee cultivation at the Pattimura University Laboratory Middle School, Ambon and to increase the capacity of teachers in understanding the concept of environmental awareness of honey bee cultivation. The steps taken for learning honey bee cultivation use Project based learning (PjBL).

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to improve the marketing skills of organic plant farmers in Indonesia through online training focused on digital marketing strategies, branding development, and distribution network expansion. The method used was participatory training, involving 30 farmers as a sample, with data collection carried out through pre-test and post-tests to measure changes in participants' knowledge and skills. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding of organic product marketing, with the average pre-test score of 2.5 increasing to 4.2 in the post-test. This increase is mainly seen in the ability of participants to utilize social media and e-commerce platforms to market their products. In addition, qualitative interviews showed that participants felt more confident in developing product branding and expanding marketing networks, although challenges related to internet infrastructure were still faced in some areas. Post-training mentoring also provides additional support that helps participants implement the strategies learned. In conclusion, this training is efficacious in improving the marketing skills of organic farmers. It can be a model that can be applied more widely to strengthen the competitiveness of organic agricultural products in Indonesia.

Abstract

Maluku as an archipelago region contains cultural richness from various aspects by its indigenous people, especially local languages ​​which are a means of conveying thoughts and ideas. Local languages ​​themselves have institutionalized identity values ​​within the indigenous people who adhere to them because reality shows that the language in question confirms its origin. The difficulty is the inability of society to adapt to the development of globalization without ignoring regional languages ​​as local wisdom and identity. Of course this shows a shift to the point of language extinction, the existence of indigenous countries is also threatened due to the loss of identity as a marker of their identity. From the description of the reality of this indigenous community, strategic steps need to be taken, namely consolidating the local language (Alune) of Lohiatala Country which in the past was used to interact by ancestors into written form, this is because in the present it is generally unknown to the younger generation or school-age children. Furthermore, it is followed up by writing a dictionary of local language vocabulary so that it can be studied by the community today and in the future. This activity will be carried out through one of the Tridharma of higher education, namely Community Service with a verification method (confirmation of the writing of the definition of the local language per vocabulary accompanied by its meaning in Indonesian) against the results of the search that has been carried out in 2023, and the publication of the dictionary book "Bahasa Alune Orang Lohiatala" with ISBN

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to improve the quality of human resources in the village through empowerment programs and managerial training that are carried out online. This training focuses on three main aspects: leadership, financial management, and natural resource management. Thirty-five village officials and MSME managers participated in this training through the Zoom application for four sessions. The methods include material presentations, interactive discussions, case simulations, and post-training assistance via WhatsApp and follow-up webinars. The evaluation results showed that 75% of the participants experienced an improvement in managerial skills, especially in decision-making and financial management. In addition, participants' satisfaction with the training reached 85%, with a positive response to how the material was delivered and the relevance of the topic to the needs of the village community. Constraints such as limited internet access are overcome by providing session recordings and modules that can be accessed offline. This program fills the gap from previous research by focusing on economic aspects, leadership capacity building, and sustainable management of natural resources. The online approach in this training has proven to be effective in answering the needs of village communities and bridging geographical and technological limitations, which supports more competitive village development

Abstract

The aim of implementing this community service activity is to provide an understanding of the importance ofstrategic planningfor the success of adaptive and sustainable business unitsThe Youth of the Maluku Protestant Church (AMGPM) Zion Branch, Tiberias I, Poka Congregation. Presenting Gen Z who are in the AMGPM Zion Branch, Tiberias I, Poka Congregation, this activity is expected to be the answer to the lack ofeducation related to strategic planning, seeing more than 34% who failed to run a business. This activity is in the form of socialization on topics raised according to the theme "Creating an Adaptive Generation Z in the Digital Era”, specifically onstrategic planning. The average satisfaction of this activity is very good with the number of presentations very satisfied and satisfied at 96.6%. Thus, this activity is expected to be an initial collaboration for the implementation of the knowledge transfer process why the younger generation.

Abstract

The constraints of local food development are the lack of derivative products that are easily accepted, accessible to the community and the implementation is not optimal. The purpose of Community-Based empowerment with the scope of Community Partnership Empowerment (PbM-PkM) is to empower the community through partners KWT Teratai and Poktan Kertaraharja III Gunajaya Village, Manonjaya District, Tasikmalaya to increase the diversification of derivative products from Talas Pratama to increase community income. This activity was carried out from May to December 2024. Gunajaya Village is the centre of Talas Pratama producers with productivity/ha around 30-40 tonnes, but most of it is sold raw so that the added value is low. There is an effort to diversify Talas Pratama into several derivative products, but until now it is still constrained by limited knowledge and skilled personnel to process products. This activity uses methods of socialisation, counselling, product processing diversification training, evaluation, grant assistance and mentoring. This activity has had an impact on the socio-economic conditions of the participants in the form of psychological assets, informational assets, organizational assets, material assets, financial assets, and human assets. Abstract

Swimming is a water sport that is quite popular with the public to maintain and improve health and is also a branch of achievement sports that are competed in national, regional and international events. The main key to helping athletes achieve success is a competent coach. Coaches who are experts in their fields will find it easier to create and implement training programs to help athletes achieve success. This community service activity is carried out using training and mentoring methods with stages of socialization, training, technology application, mentoring and evaluation and program sustainability. Based on the success indicators obtained from the monitoring and evaluation stages, the results showed that 90% of swimming coaches and assistant coaches already understood the importance of using information technology. 75% of coaches and assistant coaches are skilled in using information technology even though they encounter obstacles. 75% of coaches are able to practice using the Computational Fluid Dynamics Methodology and 80% of coaches are willing to socialize the application of information technology in swimming to colleagues

Abstract

Based on information provided by the Head of the Catfish Farming Village. The problem encountered in catfish farming villages during the breeding process after catfish farming is that many catfish seeds are eaten by bird pests at night, especially giant shrimp bird pests. According to the partners, the reduction could be up to 50-65% of the total amount of seeds added to the rearing pond. During a nighttime on-site investigation, it was discovered that the catfish pond area was not lit. Therefore, in this charitable activity, we try to provide a lighting solution for catfish ponds and repel kingfisher pests by using environmentally friendly energy, green energy, especially through the use of solar panels. The hope is to be able to reduce bird pests and not burden the partners with monthly electricity bills. From the results obtained in the field, it is known that the result the absence of lighting in the catfish pond area makes king prawn pests eat more catfish seeds than if lighting was provided using flicker flame LED lights and the installation of an off grid solar PV system was not burdensome catfish farmers regarding electricity bills used for lighting.
