Abstract

This study examines the representation of environmental economic practices in local historical texts and archives in Indonesia by situating the relationship between economic activity and the environment within a critical historical perspective. Environmental economics has often been approached through technocratic and contemporary policy frameworks, leaving the historical dimensions that shape patterns of resource exploitation and management relatively underexplored. Using a qualitative descriptive approach based on textual and archival analysis, this research investigates a range of local historical sources, administrative archives, and policy documents from the pre–New Order period, the New Order era, the Reformasi period, and the contemporary context. The findings reveal a significant shift in the representation of environmental economic practices, from adaptive systems grounded in local ecological knowledge toward an extractive development paradigm legitimized by the state, followed by the reproduction of similar logics under decentralization and the discourse of the green economy. Historical texts not only document environmental economic practices but also function as discursive instruments that shape societal and governmental perceptions of nature. This study argues that environmental economic issues cannot be separated from their historical construction and the power relations that sustain them. Therefore, a historical approach is essential to fostering critical reflection in the formulation of environmental economic policies that are more equitable, context-sensitive, and sustainable.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the use of technology in history learning in high schools in Pontianak City from a social and cultural perspective. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore in depth the forms of technology used, teaching strategies, teacher and student perceptions, and obstacles encountered in the learning process. The findings demonstrate the widespread use of technologies like projectors, smartphones, design applications, and digital platforms in history education. Technology is considered capable of increasing student engagement, strengthening the visualization of materials, and creating more engaging learning. However, social challenges such as digital distractions, decreased direct interaction, and dependence on AI are beginning to appear in the learning process. From a cultural perspective, the dominance of global content and the limited availability of local digital resources pose obstacles to maintaining students' cultural identity. Teachers overcome these obstacles through critical digital literacy, local content curation, collaborative assignments, and the creation of media based on regional history. This study emphasizes the importance of using technology wisely and contextually to ensure that history learning remains aligned with socio-cultural values. The results of the research are recommended as a reference for developing school policies and teacher training to improve the quality of history learning in the digital era.

Several women's organizations that emerged include Aisyiyah (1927), PKIIP (1932), PIIP (1938), PERKIS (1939), and PKIM (1941). Abstract

This study examines the transformation, functions, and meanings of the Katipak Dance within the Babukong funeral ritual of the Dayak Ma’ap community, particularly in relation to social change and the pressures of cultural globalization. The urgency of this research lies in the increasing influence of modernization and global popular culture, which gradually affects the continuity of local traditions, including ritual practices and cultural symbols that form the community’s collective identity. The study aims to describe the role of the Katipak Dance in the structure of the Babukong ceremony, analyze its social, cultural, and spiritual functions, and uncover the forms of change that have occurred along with the community’s efforts to preserve the tradition. Using a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, the data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and cultural document analysis. The results show that the Katipak Dance remains an essential element of spiritual communication, a medium of social cohesion, and a channel for transmitting cultural values to younger generations. However, modernization has brought changes to its form of presentation, frequency of performance, and modes of cultural transmission. The community responds to these shifts through adaptive strategies such as ritual revitalization, youth involvement, and the adjustment of cultural practices to contemporary contexts. These findings affirm that the Katipak Dance functions not only as an artistic expression but also as a guardian of identity and cultural continuity for the Dayak Ma’ap people
