Abstract

Menstrual cycle disorders can often occur in teenagers and have the potential to affect their reproductive health. Several studies have indicated that adequate nutrition is linked to menstrual cycle disorders. The purpose of this study was to identify the profile of adolescent girls and analyze the relationship between their level of energy intake, macronutrients (protein, lipid, and carbohydrates), micro-nutrients (vitamin C, magnesium, and iron), and also nutritional status with menstrual cycle. The study was conducted from January to April 2022 at Lentera Harapan High School in Palopo City. An analytic survey research design with a cross-sectional approach was used, and the research sample consisted of 66 respondents selected using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was analyzed using chi-square test. The results showed that 57,6% of the subjects had menstrual cycle disorders with most of the respondents having normal nutritional status. The study also showed a high variety of energy, macro-nutrient, and micro-nutrient consumption. However, the average intake of energy, carbohydrates, vitamin C, magnesium, and iron did not meet daily requirements. Nutritional status was significantly related to menstrual cycle (p-value<0,05). Energy, protein, lipid, carbohydrates, and iron intake were also significantly correlated to menstrual cycle (p-value<0,05). There was no relationship between adequate intake of vitamin C and magnesium with menstrual cycle (p-value>0,05). It is recommended that adolescent girls receive education about balanced nutrition and related nutrients to help reduce complaints during menstruation and reduce menstrual cycle disorders.

Abstract

Service quality can be viewed from the aspects of technical quality and functional quality. Technical quality relates to the customer's view of the service output and functional quality relates to the service delivered from the service provider to the customer. The aim of this research was to analyze the relationship between service quality and patient experience during the Covid-19 pandemic at RSUP Dr. Tadjuddin Chalid Makassar. This type of research was quantitative research using a cross-sectional research design. The research was conducted at the Inpatient Installation of RSUP Dr. Tadjuddin Chalid Makassar with a research sample of 100 subjects regarding patient experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic. The data analysis used were univariate and bivariate. The data analysis used is univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. Bivariate used chi-square test and multivariate used linear regression. The results of this study showed that there was a relationship between doctor communication with p-value=0,009<0,05, nurse communication with p-value=0,000<0,05, responsiveness with p-value=0,000<0,05, medicine communication with p-value=0,000<0,05, and food service with p-value=0,000<0,05 on patient experience. Most patients stated that doctor communication, nurse communication, drug communication, responsiveness and food service were related to the patient experience. The variable that has the strongest relationship to patient experience is drug communication with an Exp (B) value of 7,634, which means drug communication is 7,6 times related to patient experience.

Abstract

Disinfectants are known as substances  that can kill pathogens in the environment. Disinfectants are used in hospitals, homes and often used to inhibit the proliferation of harmful bacteria and germs. The large number of disinfectants circulating in the community today makes people less aware of and know which disinfectant is good and has the best effectiveness of killing bacteria. Therefore testing the efficacy of several active disinfectant substances was carried out to show the most effective disinfectant to use, thus provided information and comprehension to the public about the most effective disinfectants to kill bacteria that could be used to inhibit the proliferation of harmful bacteria and germs. This research has never been done before. The method used was the inoculating Escherichia Coli bacteria on sodium media to solidify a continuous spread plate. The disc paper dipped in a disinfectant solution (70% alcohol, 5% Lysol, iodine, and 5% hypochlorite) was placed on the Nutrient Agar media, incubated for 48 hours at 370C. The measurement was taken of the diameter of the formed inhibition zone. Of the four treatments with four active disinfectant substances used, the one that gives the most antimicrobial effect is the 5% hypochlorite active substance; the extent of the inhibition zone obtained indicates this.

Abstract

Labor is the process of opening and thinning the cervix and the fetus will descend into the birth canal. Normal delivery care is clean and safe care during labor until the baby is born, as an effort to prevent complications, especially post-natal bleeding, hypothermia and newborn asphyxia. During the first active phase of labor, there is a descent of the lowest part of the fetus into the pelvic cavity which causes pain due to contractions, where pain management is needed. Non-pharmacological methods of reducing pain in women in labor can be done, one of which is by giving warm compresses. This study aimed to determine the effect of giving warm compresses on back pain in women giving birth during the first active phase. This research design used a Quasy Experiment with a Non-Equivalent Control Group design. The research subjects were 30 mothers giving birth during one active phase, taken by accidental sampling. The instrument used was a pain scale observation sheet which was analyzed using the paired t-test. The results study showed there was an effect of warm compresses on back pain in women giving birth during the first active phase with a p-value=0,000 (p-value?0,05). Based on the research results above, can be concluded that gived a warm compress using a belt can reduce back pain in mothers during labor during the active phase of labor.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is a condition arising from insufficient food intake, leading to chronic health issues. Among adolescent girls, factors such as body image concerns and dietary habits contribute to the development of CED. This study aimed to examine variations in students' intake, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors before and after receiving nutritional counseling at Private Madrasah Aliyah Alauddin. Employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach, the study involved 49 subjects. Data analysis included univariate tests, normality tests, as well as paired t-tests and wilcoxon tests. The findings indicated that nutritional counseling had a positive impact on subjects’ knowledge and behaviors, though no significant changes were observed in attitudes and dietary intake. The results emphasized the importance of regulating dietary habits. Additionally, the study suggests that, as a follow-up to nutritional counseling, students should actively engage in peer counseling initiatives for adolescents within the school community.

Abstract

The incidence of stunting under five is also related to the low level of knowledge in providing food intake that can meet children's needs. Appropriate intervention is expected to be able to deal with stunting incidents which can be irreversible at a later stage This study aimed to determine the effect of developmental stimulation interventions and providing MP-ASI nutrition education on stunted children under five. The design of this study was experimental with pre and post design. This study used educational media MP-ASI modules and stimulation, detection, early intervention of child growth and development (SDIDTK) by first conducting developmental screening using a developmental pre-screening questionnaire (KPSP). The intervention is carried out for 1 month. The subjects in this study were 44 stunted toddlers in Condong Village using a purposive sampling method. For data that were not normally distributed, the Wilcoxon test was used to determine the significance of the effect of the intervention, and for normally distributed data, a paired t-test was used. There were significant differences in the variables of weight, height, nutritional status, height/age, and energy intake of stunting toddlers before and after the intervention (p-value<0,05). However, there were no significant differences in the variables of protein, fat intake and child development (p-value>0,05). It is necessary to carry out further research related to the duration of providing child development stimulus to stunting toddlers, so that the results of changes in child development can occur significantly.

Abstract

Hypertension is still a big health problem. It needs treatment in other forms besides medication, namely increasing understanding regarding salt or natrium consumption. Providing information can be done with various approaches, one of which is by using the health education method. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of providing health education on salt dietary on hypertensive patients in Majene Regency. This research was an experimental research with a One-group pre-post test design with a sample of 32 subjects who met the inclusion criteria. This study used the wilcoxon signed rank test with a significance level of $\alpha$< 0,05. The results of this study indicated that after conducting health education, most of the subjects experienced increased knowledge about dietary salt through the provision of health education information. There were differences in knowledge about the Salt diet before and after being given health education with a p-value of 0,003. Based on the results of this study, researchers recommend that nurses master several learning methods in implementing health education. Maintain the BPJS health prolanis community as a forum for communication with the same problem and become a medium for providing mutual support in improving the quality of life for people with hypertension. Nurses should continue to respect the patient's salt consumption habits slowly. Structured and scheduled in changing the client's salt consumption habits.
