Abstract

This research discusses the implementation of creative and fun digital literacy education strategies in Sukasenang village. The goal is to increase students' understanding of digital literacy, develop skills needed in a technological society, and create a fun learning experience. The learning method used is the jigsaw model, where students work in small groups with various abilities. This program uses written and audio visual media to support students' understanding. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with 4 types of activity stages that have been implemented, consisting of: program socialization stage, training stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. The evaluation results show that the learning method applied by KKN group 17 is appreciated by students, with 85% of students liking it. However, there are still challenges in increasing students' interest in the learning process. This program has the potential to have a positive impact on the development of digital literacy in rural areas and innovative learning methods. It is hoped that the continuation of this program will help students be more active in learning digital literacy and encourage innovation in education. This research shows that implementing creative and fun digital literacy education strategies can be an effective alternative in increasing digital literacy in rural environments.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate efforts to empower Sukamanah village communities through digital literacy in the introduction and development of relevant skills to face the Digitalization Era 4.0. This era was marked by significant changes in information and communication technology, which influenced various aspects of human life. Empowering Sukamanah village communities in facing these changes is becoming increasingly important. This study involved collecting qualitative and quantitative data from a number of respondents representing various levels of Sukamanah village society. Effective digital literacy training methods will be explored and evaluated, along with their impact on increasing the knowledge and skills of Sukamanah village communities in facing the challenges of the Digitalization Era 4.0. Apart from that, this research will also analyze the social, economic and cultural factors that influence the success of efforts to empower the Sukamanah village community through digital literacy. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide a clearer view of the role of digital literacy in increasing the capacity of the Sukamanah village community to participate actively in the increasingly digitalized Sukamanah village community. These findings will be a source of insight for policy makers, educators, and various parties interested in advancing the capabilities of Sukamanah village communities in facing the Digitalization Era 4.0.

Abstract

An environment that is clean from rubbish is an environment that everyone hopes for. The amount of waste produced by humans will increase in proportion to the increase in population, type of activity and level of population consumption of goods. Mekarjaya Village is a village in Bayongbong sub-district, Garut Regency which has a population of 1187 people. With this population, it is very likely that waste will accumulate if it is not managed properly. At the Garut Institute of Technology's Thematic KKN activities in 2023, it was identified that there was a buildup of rubbish in a location that had not been organized. Therefore, one of the community service activities will be activities that focus on environmental cleanliness. This is done with the aim of creating a more organized environment and a cleaner and healthier environment. To achieve this goal, joint environmental cleaning activities were carried out, providing rubbish bins and waste sorting education to educate residents about the importance of waste management to achieve environmental cleanliness.

Abstract

Mulyasari Village has approximately forty Micro, Small and Medium Units in the food sector, which is an important pillar in the local economy. This is a beneficial situation for society, but has negative consequences for the environment. The thing that is detrimental to the environment from this food processing business is that a lot of used cooking oil is thrown into the environment. This is because used cooking oil as a by-product is considered useless so it is thrown away by the community. In an effort to solve this problem, it is necessary to find a breakthrough in the management of used cooking oil so that it can be used as a product with economic value. The aim of the service is to provide outreach to the people of Mulyasari Village, Bayongbong District to recycle used cooking oil waste into aromatherapy candles. Therefore, Group 19 of the Garut Institute of Technology Real Work Lectures, hereinafter referred to as Mtechsquad 19, carried out the socialization program in several Community Units of Mulyasari Village, Bayongbong District, Garut, door to door and centered on the commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. The implementation of this work program has succeeded in getting a positive response from the community.

Abstract

As a form of dedication to thematic Real Work Lecture (KKN) activities in Hegarmanah Village, the Writing Team took part in developing the education and knowledge of SMPN 3 Bayongbong students to be digitally literate. The aim is to develop creativity, innovation and skills in using technology, one of which is graphic design. The methods used in implementing this program are workshops and demonstrations, where students learn by being guided and then practice what they learn. This program involves outreach, training, implementation, and evaluation. The results of this program show an increase in students' understanding of graphic design, especially the use of the Canva application and design tools and related concepts to develop students' creativity and imagination in creating a Graphic Design. Apart from that, based on surveys obtained from the pre-test and post-test results of training participants, there was an increase in mastery and understanding of graphic design from 20% to 66%.

Abstract

Scientific writing is one of the important aspects in the world of education to determine graduation. Lack of understanding regarding scientific writing is the main problem for students in writing scientific writing. To overcome this problem, teaching activities carried out by the KKN team can be a solution in increasing students' understanding of scientific writing. The learning method used is to use Contextual Teaching and Learning. This learning method is able to increase students' understanding of scientific writing. In the teaching activities carried out, the learning results showed that there was an increase in students' understanding as indicated by the exam results of 83.72% of the questions given to students related to scientific papers being answered correctly.

Abstract

Real Work Lectures (KKN) is a form of implementation of the tridharma of higher education which integrates education, research and community service. The Garut Institute of Technology Thematic KKN in the 2022/2023 Academic Year is a clear example of this concept. In the Bayongbong District area, as many as 403 students from 5 study programs participated in this KKN program, with a focus on Strengthening Village Independence through the Use of Technology to Support Increasing the Human Development Index (HDI) in Sukarame Village. This KKN method is divided into three main stages, namely preparation, implementation and evaluation. During the implementation of KKN, students carry out various programs that cover various important aspects of society. They provide seminars on digital literacy, provide Healthy Home services, assist in tempeh waste management, develop the Kawal Desa Application, improve the quality of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) products, and provide education about nutrition and preventing anemia. Apart from these programs, the KKN group also actively participates in activities with the community, such as counseling about waste banks, teaching activities for children, teaching the Koran, environmental cleanup activities every Friday, joint sports activities, as well as various celebration activities in commemoration of Hari Birthday of the Republic of Indonesia. The results of implementing this KKN are clearly visible in improving the quality of life in Sukarame Village, Bayongbong, Garut Regency. A holistic approach that combines education, research and community service has brought significant positive benefits to local communities.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the development and level of understanding of the Mekarsari village community regarding the importance of Digital Literacy culture in the global era. One of the efforts made is through Real Work Lecture (KKN) activities in which there are door to door activities regarding understanding digital wallets and digital ethics. and digital literacy seminar activities in villages, these activities are supported by the Ministry of Communication and Information (KOMINFO) to encourage the acceleration of development in villages and improve the quality of human resources in villages through the use of digital wallets and social media. Ministry of Communication and Informatics KOMINFO with a minimum target of 300 literate people using seminars and door to door methods directly to residents. The door to door results in Mekarsarari village showed that the number of people who were literate was 245 people, while the number of people who took part in the digital literacy seminar was 152 people.

Abstract

Along with current developments in technology and information, it is hoped that villages can implement applications that can help administration and facilitate communication with the community. Kawal Desa is an application or platform used for village governance needs and interaction between residents and officials. Based on these problems, the aim of this Work Lecture activity is to implement the Kawal Desa application to help village officials and the community manage community activities more effectively and efficiently. The approach used is by providing assistance and training to village officials and community leaders. As a result of implementing village guard, village administration can be well organized, and make it easier to monitor community activities and communication.

Abstract

In an increasingly digitally connected era, digital literacy is an essential key skill for participating in an increasingly connected global society. Limitations in digital literacy can result in inequalities in access to information and opportunities, isolating some communities from the benefits offered by the digital world. Salakuray Village, like many other villages, faces challenges in keeping up with rapid changes in digital technology. The aim of this activity is to introduce an innovative approach to digital literacy implemented in Salakuray Village. This activity uses the door to door method and digital literacy seminars to provide the public with an understanding of digital literacy. The results show increased participation, especially of women, in the digital world. In addition, digitally literate people are starting to become active online, with some even starting their own online businesses. This service activity highlights the importance of continuing to encourage digital literacy efforts at the local level and provides valuable insight into how innovations in digital literacy can be implemented in various communities around the world.
