Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to significant changes in the education system, including in Indonesia, with the implementation of online learning. This condition has encouraged an increase in internet and social media use among teenagers. Student activities on social media, especially Instagram, have increased significantly, but have not been balanced with adequate digital literacy skills. This Community Service activity aims to provide education to students of SMK Islamiyah Serua Ciputat about the wise and responsible use of social media, as well as encourage the involvement of teachers and parents in the online mentoring process. The implementation method includes initial observation, interactive counselling, positive Instagram content visualisation training, and practical assistance involving lecturers, teachers, and students. The results of the activity showed that students experienced an increase in understanding related to social media ethics, skills in creating positive content, and awareness of the importance of critical thinking before sharing information on social media. Additionally, teachers and school staff play an active role in supervising student activities both during and after the event. This program is expected to be the first step in forming a smart, critical, and responsible digital generation on social media.

Abstract

The coastal area of Lembar District, West Lombok, has great potential in cultivating marine ornamental fish such as clownfish and blue tang, but water pollution due to Lembar Port activities has caused a decline in water quality and low fish survival. This community service aims to increase the capacity of farmers in managing water quality through the application of protein skimmer technology, a tool that can remove dissolved organic particles from seawater. The activity was carried out in six stages, namely location survey, socialization, training, technology application, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability. The results of the activity showed that partners experienced an increase in understanding of the importance of water quality and skills in using protein skimmers. In addition, the condition of the cultivation environment became more stable and supported the growth of ornamental fish. With a participatory approach and the application of appropriate technology, this activity was able to provide a positive impact. This program is expected to be a pilot model for other coastal areas in the development of sustainable marine ornamental fish cultivation.

Abstract

The rapid development of Al-Qur'an Education Parks (TPQ) today is both a blessing and a challenge. The blessing is that many TPQ institutions will produce a Qur'anic generation. However, the challenge is how these institutions can produce a Qur'anic generation if they are not balanced with improvements in quality, both in terms of institutional management and teacher quality. The objective of this activity is to enhance the competencies of TPQ teachers in managing learning evaluations. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) following Vincent II’s 9-step process: team formation, goal formulation, stakeholder identification, needs assessment and analysis, priority setting, preparation, implementation and monitoring, review and evaluation, and determination of new needs and objectives. The target of this activity is for TPQ teachers in Mijen Sub-district to be able to create effective learning evaluation administration. The results of the community service indicate that TPQ teachers can appreciate the importance of learning evaluation and are capable of creating standardized assessments using student achievement records. The implementation of this competency enhancement activity received a positive response from TPQ teachers, allowing for the development of future activities that can be more varied.

Abstract

The globalization era is accompanied by a massive influx of foreign cultures, resulting in the nation's noble values being easily eroded, exacerbated by the young generation's lack of understanding of the nation's historical struggles. At an early age, children experience a growth in high absorption capacity, which can have a lasting impact and remain throughout their lives. Therefore, instilling values of patriotism from an early age is highly relevant and urgent. The method employs a collaborative approach, focusing on inspiring stories about national heroes and historical events. This is chosen based on its suitability for the characteristics of early-age children who enjoy narrative and imagination at Sejahtera Tunggulwulung PAUD. This activity includes the introduction of national hero figures, inspirational stories about these heroes, accounts of historical events related to the nation's struggle, and singing national songs. The results show an increase in children's enthusiasm for historical stories, their ability to remember several important figures or events, and a rise in children's interest in national topics, as indicated by the questions about heroes. This activity successfully laid the foundation for instilling a sense of love for the homeland and pride in national identity in children.
