Abstract

This study investigates the effect of applying Deep Learning assisted by Spedomatik Media on improving collaborative skills and critical thinking among elementary school students. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 25 second-grade students from SDN 1 Sumberagung. Data were collected using pretests, posttests, observational checklists, and collaboration skills questionnaires. The results showed significant improvements in both collaborative skills and critical thinking after the intervention. The classical learning completeness increased from 0% to 80%, indicating the effectiveness of Deep Learning in enhancing student engagement and collaboration. The regression analysis indicated that Deep Learning contributed significantly to the improvement of both skills, with a 49.9% increase in collaborative skills and a 60.4% increase in critical thinking skills. The Manova test further confirmed the simultaneous effect of Deep Learning on both skills. These findings suggest that the integration of Spedomatik Media into Deep Learning strategies fosters a more interactive and effective learning environment, thereby enhancing students' ability to collaborate and think critically. The study highlights the potential of this approach for future educational practices in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study investigates how the Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning model can improve the learning motivation of fourth grade students in Social Studies at Inpres 1 Birobuli Public Elementary School. The research aims to determine whether combining teamwork, friendly competition, and enjoyable activities can encourage students to participate more actively in the learning process. A quantitative approach with a Quasi Experimental design is applied, where class IVA receives the Teams Games Tournament treatment and class IVB functions as the comparison group. A motivation questionnaire is used to collect data after the learning activities. Before testing the hypothesis, the data are examined through normality and homogeneity tests to ensure statistical requirements are met. The hypothesis is then analyzed using the Paired Sample T Test through SPSS Statistic twenty five. The results show a significance value of zero point zero zero zero, lower than the alpha level of zero point zero five, leading to the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. These results indicate that the Teams Games Tournament model significantly increases students motivation and creates a more engaging classroom atmosphere.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of educational resource management, particularly human resources (HR) and financial resources, in supporting curriculum implementation at SMP Negeri 3 Kotabaru. The research focuses on how the principal applies data-driven, reflective, and collaborative management approaches to optimize teacher potential and ensure transparent and accountable financial management. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the effectiveness of resource management at SMP Negeri 3 Kotabaru is achieved through three main strategies: (1) reflection- and coaching-based HR management that encourages teachers’ self-evaluation and continuous professional development; (2) humanistic leadership emphasizing emotional regulation, empathy, and dialogic communication to foster a collaborative work culture; and (3) transparent and participatory financial management involving all school members in budgeting and evaluation processes. This study concludes that the effectiveness of HR and financial management is not solely determined by the principal’s technical managerial skills but also by reflective, ethical, and collaborative leadership. Such a management model fosters a sustainable culture of quality and strengthens the successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the needs for developing a Balanced Literacy Approach (BLA) model to improve beginning reading instruction in elementary schools. The research was conducted in three public elementary schools in Sentolo District, Kulon Progo, involving 15 lower-grade teachers, Grade II students, and instructional documents used in the schools. Using a descriptive method within the preliminary phase of the Borg & Gall R&D model, data were collected through document analysis, classroom observations, teacher questionnaires, interviews, and an early reading test. The findings indicate that instructional documents were still general in nature and not tailored to the specific needs of early literacy development. Classroom practices were dominated by lecture-based activities and round-robin reading, with limited use of shared reading, guided reading, or independent reading. Teachers reported challenges in guiding students to understand texts and identified the lack of engaging reading materials such as Big Books. Students showed low reading interest, and test results revealed disparities between technical decoding skills and reading comprehension. These results highlight the urgent need for a structured, engaging, and applicable instructional model. The Balanced Literacy Approach is considered relevant to provide systematic, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate reading experiences for early grade learners.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in shaping a nation’s progress, with teachers serving as key agents in guiding students toward moral and intellectual maturity. This study explores the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers as moral exemplars in shaping students’ Islamic character at SMP Negeri 1 Kunduran. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving PAI teachers, the school principal, guidance counselors, and students. The findings reveal that PAI teachers act not only as educators but also as role models who integrate Islamic values through consistent discipline, politeness, and religious practice. Character formation strategies include modeling behavior (uswah hasanah), moral guidance (mau’idzah hasanah), and habituation through daily activities such as congregational prayers and religious programs. Collaboration between teachers, parents, and the school environment enhances the effectiveness of character building by creating a consistent moral framework both at home and at school. This study concludes that exemplary behavior by PAI teachers significantly influences students’ moral and spiritual development. Future research could explore digital and community-based strategies to strengthen Islamic character education in diverse school settings.

Abstract

This study was designed to evaluate the validity and effectiveness of a PjBL e-module on the virus topic in developing high school students’ creative thinking abilities. The validation of the e-module was carried out qualitatively, while its effectiveness was investigated through a quasi-experimental approach using a nonrandomized control group with pretest and posttest. The population comprised all Grade X students at SMA Negeri 1 Polokarto in the 2025/2026 academic year. Two classes were sampled: X E1 as the experimental group using the PjBL e-module and X E3 as the control group with conventional materials.  The e-module was reviewed by four expert validators covering material, media, language, and instructional aspects. Effectiveness data were examined using an independent sample t-test and N-Gain scores. The validation process indicated a very high level of validity, with an overall average score of 94.38%. The t-test significance value of 0.007 (<0.05) confirmed a significant difference in creative thinking skills between the two groups. N-Gain scores demonstrated moderate improvement, with values of 0.37 for the control class and 0.57 for the experimental class. These results show that the PjBL e-module is valid and effective in enhancing students’ creative thinking skills regarding the virus topic.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between academic supervision and school leadership roles with teacher learning innovation in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in high schools in Reteh District. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 50 teachers from several high schools in Reteh District who were randomly selected as respondents. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression to test the extent of the independent variables. The analysis was conducted with the help of statistical programs to ensure the validity and reliability of the data. The results showed that academic supervision had a positive and significant relationship with teacher learning innovation in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, with a regression coefficient value of 0.297. This means that every one-unit increase in academic supervision will increase teacher learning innovation by 0.297 units. This finding confirms the importance of the role of principals and supervisors in providing guidance, direction, and follow-up on classroom learning so that teachers are encouraged to continue to innovate. Thus, it can be concluded that improving the quality of academic supervision and school leadership is the key to encouraging teacher learning innovation in the era of the Merdeka Curriculum implementation.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools continues to face challenges in strengthening students’ critical thinking, creativity, and active engagement. This study conducts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to analyze the implementation of the Problem Posing model in mathematics learning from 2020 to 2025, following the PRISMA stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. A total of 25 national and international articles were reviewed based on publication year, context, research focus, and reported outcomes. The findings show that the Problem Posing model consistently improves students’ conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity, while also enhancing motivation and active participation in learning. Its effectiveness increases when integrated with real-life contexts, digital media, and collaborative strategies that foster metacognitive reflection. Nonetheless, challenges such as limited instructional time, teacher readiness, and the absence of standardized creativity assessment tools remain. Overall, the evidence demonstrates that the Problem Posing model is an innovative and relevant approach aligned with the Independent Curriculum, offering strong potential for developing essential 21st-century competencies among elementary school students.
