Abstract

This study investigates the correlation between learning independence and active participation among students in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) at MAN 2 Bandar Lampung. Preliminary observations showed that only 15% of students demonstrated adequate self-confidence in independent learning, while responsiveness to questions reached merely 12%, indicating reduced engagement and growing reliance on AI during learning activities. Using a quantitative correlational design with an ex-post facto approach, the study involved 160 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire. The findings show a significant positive relationship between learning independence particularly students’ self-confidence and their responsiveness in classroom learning. These results underscore the importance of strengthening students’ confidence in autonomous learning as a primary strategy to enhance classroom responsiveness. Educators are encouraged to implement approaches that intentionally build self-confidence to improve active participation in IRE learning.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Learning Cycle 7E instructional model in enhancing learners’ motivation in Islamic Religious Education (IRE), specifically on the topic “Emulating the Role of Ulama in Spreading Islamic Teachings in Indonesia” at SMK Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung. The research was conducted in response to the low internal drive of learners, which was associated with lecture-dominated instruction and limited interactive learning media. A quasi-experimental posttest-only control group design was employed, involving two randomly selected classes: one experimental group taught using the Learning Cycle 7E model and one control group taught through conventional methods. The instrument utilized was a validated and reliable motivation questionnaire (α = 0.876). Although Hamzah B. Uno identifies six dimensions of learning motivation, this study focused exclusively on the dimension of learning drive and needs, as it corresponds directly with the objective of analyzing students’ internal impulses and perceived necessity to learn during the application of the 7E model. Restricting the measurement to this single dimension enabled a more precise and in-depth examination of internal motivation. The t-test results revealed a significant difference between the two groups (p < 0.05), demonstrating that the Learning Cycle 7E model effectively increased learners’ motivation, particularly in internal drive and learning needs. The study contributes novelty by implementing the 7E model within vocational-level religious education, offering an innovative and interactive approach to support meaningful and sustainable learning.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of a deep learning approach in meaningful mathematics learning at the elementary school level. The research aims to analyze how deep learning principles are integrated into mathematics instruction, identify strategies aligned with the Kurikulum Merdeka, and explore challenges and solutions in its application. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by the PRISMA protocol, 903 documents were identified, and 13 articles met the final inclusion criteria. The findings show that meaningful, mindful, and joyful learning principles are consistently embedded through contextual activities, problem-based and project-based learning, reflective practices, and digital media integration. Deep learning effectively enhances students’ conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and engagement. However, limitations remain in teacher readiness, digital infrastructure, time allocation, and assessment practices. The study highlights the potential of deep learning to transform mathematics learning while recommending more empirical classroom studies and long-term evaluations to strengthen its pedagogical implementation.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of spiritual intelligence and emotional intelligence on employee performance through organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) at the Youth and Sports Office of West Seram Regency. Using a quantitative associative design with a cross-sectional approach, all 21 employees were included through full sampling. Data were analyzed using path analysis with SPSS 25. The results show that both spiritual and emotional intelligence significantly enhance OCB, yet neither has a direct effect on employee performance. OCB, however, directly improves performance and serves as a mediating variable that connects both forms of intelligence to performance. These findings indicate that spiritual and emotional capacities contribute to better performance only when manifested through voluntary, proactive, and citizenship-oriented behaviors within the organization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and formulate a service model based on the Community Satisfaction Index (IKM) at the Population and Civil Registration Office of West Seram Regency. The research uses a descriptive quantitative method with a Likert scale and analyzes data based on the 14 IKM elements established in the Regulation of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform. A total of 129 service users participated as respondents. Data were processed using descriptive statistics and spider web analysis. The results concluded that the IKM scores ranged from 3.59 to 3.84, placing the overall average IKM of 3.72 in the “Good” category. The recommended service model emphasizes maintaining high service standards through fast, responsive, fair, friendly, and transparent procedures. Officer discipline, ability, and assertiveness must be strengthened alongside clear service costs and schedules. Improving comfort and integrating digital service features are also essential to enhance efficiency and public satisfaction.

Abstract

This study investigates how multiple facets of intelligence shape the quality of work life among employees serving in the West Seram District Office, West Seram Regency. Employing a descriptive–quantitative design with a causal-correlational framework, the research positions the intelligence dimensions as determinants of variations in employees’ work-life quality. The entire workforce—comprising 19 civil servants, 4 government contract staff (P3K), and 26 honorary employees—was included as the sample through a full-enumeration technique, totaling 49 respondents. Data processing was carried out using multiple linear regression to identify the contribution of each intelligence dimension. The findings reveal that emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and social intelligence each exert a significant and positive influence on the quality of work life. These results underscore the importance of developing holistic intelligence capacities to enhance workplace well-being within public sector institutions.

Abstract

Lately, education in Indonesia has been getting a big shake-up from the Merdeka Curriculum reform, which really pushes for more flexibility, teaching that focuses on students, and assessments based on what they can actually do. This change hits hard for TEFL/EFL curriculum planning, needing to match up with national standards while dealing with what's really happening in classrooms. But from what the research shows, there's this ongoing struggle: lots of teachers and schools get the idea of the reform, yet putting it into action often falls short. For instance, studies point out that even though most schools say they understand the Merdeka Curriculum clearly, things like not enough teacher training and limited resources get in the way of real progress (Sephiawardani & Bektiningsih, 2023; Andika & Yulia, 2025). Other work highlights how English teachers, despite being eager, have trouble tweaking assessments, planning lessons that suit different kids, and creating materials that fit the local scene (Karimatunisa & Sartika, 2024; Andika & Yulia, 2025). This review of the literature aims to chart out how recent studies (2021–2025) describe TEFL/EFL curriculum design amid these changes, spot the big gaps, and suggest ways forward for better curriculum development. From what we've pulled together, things like teacher training, ongoing help, and better ways to turn policies into classroom reality are key to closing the gap between the reform's goals and what's actually happening in schools.

Abstract

The dichotomy between religious and secular sciences has long been a challenge within the Islamic education system, particularly in madrasahs. Consequently, teaching practices often become fragmented and disconnected from the spiritual dimension of Islam. This article aims to conceptually examine the importance of an integralistic approach in Islamic Studies as an epistemological foundation for integrating science and Islam in madrasah education. The study employs a library research method using content analysis of classical and contemporary Islamic scholars such as Amin Abdullah, Fazlur Rahman, Ismail Raji al-Faruqi, and Zakiyuddin Baidhawy. The findings indicate that the integralistic approach facilitates an epistemological dialogue between revelation, reason, and empirical reality, allowing madrasah learning to integrate the values of tawhid with modern scientific knowledge. Hence, the integration of science and Islam is not merely a curricular synthesis but a paradigm shifts that positions knowledge as an act of devotion to God. The study recommends developing a curriculum model based on integrative-interconnective approaches and strengthening teachers’ competencies to foster holistic and transformative learning.

Abstract

This study examines the role of wives in enhancing their husbands’ religiosity in modern Muslim families, particularly in Padangsidimpuan City. Viewing the family as a spiritual institution, the research explores how religious values are cultivated through daily interaction, exemplary conduct, and meaningful communication. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, it draws on a literature review and in-depth interviews with five Muslim married couples, analyzed thematically to reveal patterns of the wife’s spiritual influence. The findings show that a wife’s devotion in worship, moral behavior, and positive religious communication significantly strengthen her husband’s religiosity. Her exemplary conduct and empathetic communication create a religious atmosphere that nurtures spiritual awareness at home. Modern wives who balance domestic and professional roles also contribute to the family’s spiritual resilience. Thus, the wife’s role embodies dakwah bil hal, serving as a spiritual catalyst who inspires her husband’s piety and supports a harmonious, faith-centered family.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of job satisfaction and the mediating role of locus of control on employee performance at the Regional Civil Service Agency of Maluku Province. Using a descriptive–quantitative design with causal-correlational orientation, the study involved a population of 144 employees, with 100 respondents selected through simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using path analysis. The results indicate that locus of control significantly enhances job satisfaction and employee performance, while job satisfaction also significantly improves performance. Moreover, locus of control indirectly affects performance through its positive impact on job satisfaction. These findings suggest that fostering an internal locus of control and improving job satisfaction can serve as practical strategies to enhance employee performance and inform theoretical models of organizational behavior.
