Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors causing the declining birth rate in Indonesia and its impact on marriage decisions. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative approach, analyzing secondary data from journals, articles, and other relevant sources. The results show that the declining birth rate is influenced by various factors, including increased education, changing social norms, economic conditions, and the “child free” phenomenon. Increased education, especially for women, encourages postponement of marriage for career and financial stability. Economic pressures, such as high living and education costs, are also the main reasons couples delay marriage. The “child free” phenomenon is increasingly accepted in modern culture, even though it goes against traditional values. The impact on Indonesia's demographic structure includes demographic bonus opportunities as well as challenges related to an aging population and the need for social services. The study concludes that the declining birth rate has significant implications for Indonesia's social, cultural and economic dynamics, requiring a holistic policy approach to manage demographic change in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted various aspects of life, including the education sector. The educational process at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Kerinci has also experienced quite significant changes, where the learning method has shifted from face-to-face to online learning. There is still not much research that discusses the correlation between the impact of Covid-19 and the mental and physiological health of students. This study aims to evaluate the impact of the pandemic on changes in the education system at IAIN Kerinci, with a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities that arise from the implementation of online learning. Through observation and questionnaires, this study involved lecturers and students to gain direct insight into the experiences and obstacles they face during the online learning process. The results of the study indicate that changes in education at IAIN Kerinci are faced with several problems, such as limited internet access, lack of digital skills, and low success rates in online learning. The world of education has changed rapidly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This requires flexibility and innovation in the learning process despite the many challenges that must be faced. Further evaluation is needed to assess the effectiveness of online learning and the potential for sustainable development of educational technology at IAIN Kerinci.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia faces major challenges related to the practice of violence and radicalization that still flourish in the educational environment, both at the elementary school to university level. This creates difficulties in designing a curriculum that reflects the principles of tolerance and diversity. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic education in overcoming these problems through the application of the principle of religious moderation. Based on the literature review, it is found that religious moderation, as taught in the Qur'an, includes the principles of justice, friendship between religious communities, and the prohibition of imposing religion on others. The implementation of the principle of religious moderation in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum can be done by including moderation content in each material, learning approaches that promote critical thinking and tolerance, and involving special training programs. Despite challenges such as student disinterest in religious studies and the influence of global culture, with the right strategies, Islamic education can play a role in creating a peaceful and inclusive educational environment. Therefore, religious moderation should be an integral part of the curriculum to shape a more tolerant and civilized generation.

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted media in madrasah learning environments, addressing the limited availability of culturally and pedagogically responsive educational technologies in Islamic primary education. The research aims to develop and implement intelligent instructional media tailored to the cognitive, moral, and spiritual needs of madrasah students, while evaluating its impact on learning comprehension, reasoning, and communication. Employing a mixed-methods approach, this study combines qualitative data—analyzed using the latest NVivo software—from interviews, observations, and document analysis, with quantitative insights from user feedback and learning outcome measures. The results reveal that AI-integrated media significantly enhanced students’ conceptual understanding, verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and creative expression. Additionally, teachers reported reduced instructional burden and improved student engagement. The findings contribute to the emerging field of AI in education by proposing a culturally grounded framework for AI adoption in Islamic schooling. This study not only underscores the transformative potential of AI in promoting inclusive, meaningful learning experiences in madrasahs, but also calls for strategic teacher training, ethical design, and policy support to ensure sustainable and value-aligned implementation.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of digital learning on student motivation and engagement in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, particularly in grades 4-6. Despite the development of digital technology, the implementation of digital learning in madrasah is still limited and not optimal in influencing the learning process. The main issue raised is the extent to which digital technology can increase students' learning motivation and engagement in the madrasah environment. The purpose of this study is to understand the impact of digital learning on student motivation and engagement, as well as to identify factors that support or hinder its implementation. This research used a qualitative approach, with data collection through in-depth interviews and observation. Data was analyzed using N-Vivo assistance. The results show that digital learning significantly increases student motivation and engagement, with factors such as interactivity of digital media, use of relevant content, and teacher support playing an important role in the achievement. The main impact of this study is to provide insights for curriculum development and teacher training to improve the effectiveness of technology-based learning in madrasah.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the Prevention of Terrorism and Radicalism in Indonesia in Schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method by collecting relevant data and analyzing and studying it in detail and in depth, and conducting discussions to discuss the context related to the material in the journal. From this study, the results were found, namely (1) Radicalism in schools is caused by various structural and cultural factors, including past political pressure, repressive education, and minimal critical literacy. (2) Prevention efforts have been made by schools, the government, and the community, but are still sectoral and not optimally coordinated. (3) Social media has become a new channel for the spread of radical ideology, especially for students who are looking for their identity. As an implication of this research, it is understood that character education is not enough if it is not accompanied by strengthening digital literacy and active parental involvement. Then, in other aspects, teachers need continuous training to be able to recognize early symptoms of radicalism and respond in an educational and non-repressive manner. For that, policies are needed that are not only top-down, but also flexible to adjust to the socio-cultural characteristics of each region.

Abstract

Corruption remains deeply entrenched across various sectors of society, underscoring the urgent need for systematic and sustainable countermeasures. One promising approach is the early integration of anti-corruption education at the primary school level to foster a culture of integrity from a young age. This study employs a qualitative approach through a comprehensive literature review of scholarly articles, policy documents, and relevant educational frameworks. The analysis by meta-analysis, focuses on three key dimensions: (1) the conceptual foundation of anti-corruption education, (2) its significance in the context of primary education, and (3) the core values that underpin anti-corruption learning. The study highlights the strategic role of anti-corruption education in shaping students’ character and moral reasoning. Findings emphasize the necessity of embedding anti-corruption values into formal curricula and underscore the pivotal role of teachers as primary agents of value transmission and ethical modeling in the classroom. This study contributes to the discourse on value-based education and offers recommendations for embedding anti-corruption education as an integral component of character development in early education.

Abstract

This research discusses the development of Islamic higher education in Indonesia and Turkey through a comparative historical approach, focusing on the social, political and cultural dynamics that influenced it. The main issue raised is how the two countries, despite having strong Islamic education traditions, adopted different paths in developing Islamic higher education systems. The aim of this study is to explore the differences and similarities in the development of Islamic higher education in the two countries and their impact on educational identity and curriculum integration. The method used is a historical comparative study with document analysis and primary sources related to the development of Islamic higher education in Indonesia and Turkey. The results show that although both countries face similar challenges in modernization, Indonesia maintains more religious identity in Islamic education, while Turkey leads to secularization by integrating Islamic higher education within the framework of secular education. The impact of these findings suggests that Islamic higher education in Indonesia and Turkey can teach each other lessons in integrating religious values with the demands of modern science, taking into account their respective social and political contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the integration of Qur'anic values in Indonesian language learning in madrasah Ibtidaiyah and its impact on students' language skills and character development. The issues raised were how Qur'anic themes can be integrated into the Indonesian curriculum and to what extent this affects students' motivation, engagement and character building. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving NVivo-based thematic analysis and in-depth interviews with madrasah principals, teachers and parents in several Ibtidaiyah madrasahs in Southeast Sulawesi. The results showed that the integration of Qur'anic values in Indonesian language learning not only improved students' language skills, but also strengthened their moral and spiritual character. Students become more disciplined, responsible and able to link language learning with religious teachings. In effect, this approach enriches the curriculum with a holistic and interdisciplinary approach, and strengthens the link between religious and academic education. This study suggests developing a more explicit value-based curriculum, improving teachers' pedagogical competence, as well as further research with a quantitative approach to evaluate the long-term impact.
