Abstract

In the era of globalization and digitalization, English language proficiency is becoming increasingly important. English serves not only as a tool for international communication but also as a key to accessing global knowledge, technology, and information. Therefore, efforts to improve the quality of English teaching in Indonesia through the use of educational technology are essential. Training on the development and utilization of AI for personalized learning and remediation based on formative data assessments was boldly conducted with a practical and participatory approach. It explained the concepts of personalized and remedial learning, as well as an introduction to AI-based tools that can be used in the English language learning process. The use of artificial intelligence in education offers significant opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the learning process. This training focused on two key aspects of personalized learning and remediation: teachers can use data to identify students' strengths and weaknesses. AI enables the creation of specific learning content tailored to students' ability levels, creating a more engaging learning experience.

Abstract

Data-driven learning is gaining increasing attention. Learning analytics, which is the measurement, collection, and analysis of data about students and their learning contexts, has significant potential to revolutionize how we understand and improve the teaching and learning process. This training was conducted through a systematic and structured mechanism, encompassing several stages. First, it introduced the basic concepts of learning analytics and the importance of digital assessment data. Results from the training on utilizing AI-based learning analytics to design effective mathematics learning interventions showed that participants experienced significant improvements in their understanding and skills in using digital assessment data. The use of this data, both quantitatively and qualitatively, resulted in a mapping of each student's needs and progress in understanding mathematical concepts. One important outcome was the participants' ability to design learning interventions based on data analysis. Participants demonstrated creativity in integrating analytics software to provide actionable feedback for students who needed additional support.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to optimize the role of mathematics teachers in developing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based questions through research-based learning outcome analysis. The background of this activity lies in the limited ability of teachers to design assessment instruments that demand higher-order thinking, resulting in learning processes that tend to focus on memorization and basic comprehension. The method applied in this program was a descriptive approach, implemented through training, mentoring, and question analysis workshops involving mathematics teachers at the secondary school level. The program emphasized the understanding of HOTS concepts, the development of questions based on the revised Bloom’s taxonomy, and the analysis of student learning outcomes to assess the effectiveness of the developed instruments. The results showed that teachers were able to improve their skills in designing HOTS-based questions while gaining a more objective picture of student achievement. Therefore, this program is expected to strengthen teachers’ capacity in supporting more meaningful, challenging, and relevant learning aligned with curriculum demands and 21st-century competence needs.
