Abstract

Learning outcomes assessment is a crucial component of the educational process because it determines the extent to which students’ competencies have been achieved. Assessment does not focus solely on the cognitive domain, which encompasses knowledge and understanding of subject matter, but also includes the affective domain related to students’ attitudes, motivation, and values demonstrated during learning, as well as the psychomotor domain that evaluates practical skills. This article conceptually examines the integration of these three domains in learning outcomes assessment as an effort to achieve holistic and comprehensive evaluation that reflects students’ overall development in intellectual, attitudinal, and skill-based aspects. This integrated assessment approach not only provides a foundation for teachers to design more effective, competency-oriented instructional strategies, but also encourages students to develop their potential optimally. The article underscores the importance of using valid, reliable, and objective assessment instruments so that evaluation results accurately and pedagogically accountably reflect students’ learning achievement.

Abstract

The concept of ta’dib constitutes the core of Islamic education, focusing on the inculcation of adab, the formation of akhlak (moral character), and the gradual introduction of truth to students. In the pesantren tradition, ta’dib serves as the principal foundation that distinguishes the pesantren educational system from other institutions, as it emphasizes not only the transfer of knowledge but also the formation of students’ character and personality as santri. This study aimed to examine in depth the concept of ta’dib in Islamic education by highlighting its implementation in the context of pesantren. The method employed was a literature study that reviewed various relevant sources, including books, journal articles, and previous research. The findings show that the inculcation of adab is carried out through various methods, including dialogue (hiwar), exemplary modeling (uswah), habituation (riyadhah), inspirational stories (ibrah), advice (mau’idzah), motivation and warning (targhib wa tarhib), and the use of parables (amtsal). Earlier scholars emphasized that adab is superior to knowledge because adab protects human beings from wrongdoing and makes their knowledge more beneficial. These findings affirm that, amid contemporary moral and social challenges, the strengthening of ta’dib is essential for shaping a morally upright generation not only in pesantren but also in schools and family environments, thereby enabling Islamic education to contribute significantly to the character formation of the Muslim community.

Abstract

Academic stress experienced by students during the thesis-writing stage often affects their psychological condition and everyday behavior, including a tendency toward emotional eating. This study aimed to examine the relationship between academic stress and emotional eating among students who are working on their thesis. The research employed a quantitative correlational approach with cluster sampling involving 152 students of Universitas Negeri Padang who were in the process of writing their thesis. Data were collected using an academic stress scale and an emotional eating scale, and were analyzed using the Pearson Product–Moment correlation test. The results showed a significant positive relationship between academic stress and emotional eating (r = 0.534; p = 0.000), indicating that the higher the level of academic stress, the higher the tendency toward emotional eating among students, and vice versa. These findings underscore the importance of addressing academic stress management in order to prevent emotional eating behavior that may negatively affect students’ well-being during the thesis-writing process.

Abstract

Educational supervision is one of the key instruments for improving teachers’ competencies as the primary implementers of instruction, particularly amid curriculum changes, professional demands, and the dynamic development of the educational landscape that requires continuous guidance. This study aimed to conceptually examine the role of educational supervision in enhancing teacher competence. A qualitative approach was employed using a literature study method by reviewing various scholarly sources, such as reference books, journal articles, and relevant education policy documents. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques by systematically reviewing, comparing, and synthesizing different expert perspectives. The findings indicate that educational supervision plays a crucial role in developing teachers’ pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies through structured and reflective guidance. The implementation of effective supervision strategies, such as clinical supervision, collaborative supervision, and the use of technology, supports the creation of more sustainable teacher development processes and leads to improved quality of instructional practice. Thus, educational supervision can be positioned as a strategic instrument for strengthening teacher professionalism and enhancing the quality of learning in educational institutions.

Abstract

The integration of character values into the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah has become increasingly urgent as a normative, pedagogical, and sociocultural mandate for cultivating a morally upright generation amid the challenges of globalization. This article aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the integration of character values within the PAI curriculum in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The discussion is based on Chapter II (literature review) of a thesis on the integration of character values in the PAI curriculum, employing a qualitative–descriptive approach through theoretical examination and relevant research. The integration of character values is understood as a systematic process that embeds religious values, honesty, discipline, responsibility, social concern, and noble character into the objectives, content, methods, and evaluation of PAI learning. The findings indicate that effective integration requires explicit curriculum planning, exemplary teacher conduct, continuous habituation, the strengthening of a religious school culture, and authentic affective evaluation. These findings affirm that character value integration in PAI is a crucial prerequisite for developing a curriculum that is both responsive to global challenges and oriented toward the formation of students’ noble character. This article is expected to provide theoretical and practical contributions to the development of the PAI curriculum in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, particularly in designing more systematic and sustainable strategies for integrating character values.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) have long been trusted educational institutions for cultivating children’s religious and moral character; however, in recent years rising educational costs have created a dilemma for parents, particularly those from lower-middle-income families. This study aimed to analyze the high cost of pesantren education as a major barrier for parents in providing religious education for their children, to identify the social and educational impacts of this condition, and to formulate alternative solutions so that pesantren remain affordable for diverse social groups. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Respondents consisted of parents who wished to enroll their children in pesantren but were constrained by costs, pesantren administrators, and community leaders. The findings indicate that most parents had a strong desire to send their children to pesantren to obtain more intensive religious education, yet they were burdened by high initial fees reaching millions of rupiah, alongside mandatory monthly payments, equipment costs, and other additional fees. This situation has become a primary factor preventing lower-middle-income families from accessing pesantren education and has simultaneously created a dilemma in determining priorities for their children’s education. The study concludes that more inclusive planning and policy are needed so that pesantren can become more open and affordable, thereby enhancing equitable public access to high-quality religious education.

Abstract

Islam, as a religion grounded in divine revelation, offers a comprehensive and integrated worldview known as the Islamic Worldview, which plays a strategic role as the foundation for thought and action among Muslims. The Islamic Worldview functions as a guide for filtering diverse emerging values and as a basis for constructing educational, social, economic, and scientific systems oriented toward public benefit (maslahah) and justice. In light of this need, examining the function of the Islamic Worldview becomes essential to contributing to the formation of appropriate and just patterns of thought and attitude in order to achieve collective well-being. This study employed a library research method by collecting, organizing, and analyzing relevant sources in the form of articles, books, and previous research. The findings show that the Islamic Worldview has a significant role in responding to contemporary challenges, including serving as a foundation for strengthening aqidah; as a source of moral and ethical values derived from revelation; as guidance in determining life goals; as a bulwark against external influences such as liberalism, secularism, and materialism; and as a basis for social and scientific action that integrates orientations toward both worldly life and the hereafter. These findings affirm that strengthening the Islamic Worldview is crucial in shaping the framework of thought, attitudes, and behavior of Muslims that are just and oriented toward the attainment of the common good.

Abstract

Lantan Tourism Village has developed as one of the drivers of the local economy with the potential to influence the community’s socio-economic structure through increased income, job creation, and the strengthening of community-based economic activities. This study aimed to determine the impact of the management of Lantan Tourism Village on socio-economic changes within the community and to contribute to development economics discourse as well as provide practical input for optimizing tourism village management to improve community welfare. A descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach was employed to understand the impact of tourism village management through the direct experiences of key actors. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with informants comprising the village head and members of the tourism-awareness group (Pokdarwis), selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, including data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings show that the management of Lantan Tourism Village based on community-based tourism (CBT) principles has significantly transformed the local economy and improved community welfare, as reflected in increased income, more diverse employment opportunities, and higher household consumption. This success is closely linked to active community participation, strong government support, and strategic collaboration among stakeholders that ensure a fairer and more sustainable distribution of tourism benefits. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening community capacity, improving supporting infrastructure, and optimizing tourism village promotion as prerequisites for the long-term sustainability of Lantan Tourism Village development.

Abstract

Academic supervision plays a strategic role in improving the quality of Islamic education; however, various studies indicate that supervisory practices in madrasah still face challenges, including limited supervisor competence, weak follow-up coaching, and an orientation that tends to be administrative, resulting in suboptimal quality of teaching and learning processes and outcomes. This study aimed to analyze the concept of academic supervision from the perspective of Islamic education, encompassing its definition, objectives, components, and principles, and to examine its contribution to quality improvement. The method used was library research through a systematic review of national scholarly articles published between 2020 and 2025 that are relevant to the theme of academic supervision in Islamic education. Data were analyzed thematically by identifying conceptual patterns and empirical findings in the literature. The results show that academic supervision in Islamic education is understood as a process of continuous professional coaching that includes planning, observation, feedback, and follow-up, with the primary aims of enhancing teacher competence, improving the quality of instruction, and strengthening a professional culture in madrasah. The dominant components of supervision include planning, implementation, evaluation, and coaching, while the prominent principles are objectivity, collaboration, constructiveness, sustainability, and the internalization of Islamic values. The study concludes that there is a positive relationship between systematic academic supervision practices and the improvement of Islamic education quality. Theoretically, this review enriches models of supervision grounded in Islamic values, while practically it provides a foundation for developing more effective and context-sensitive supervisory patterns in madrasah settings, including the need to strengthen supervisor capacity and to formulate standardized operational guidelines for supervision.

Abstract

Learning in Akidah Akhlak plays a strategic role in shaping students’ religious and moral character from an early age; however, the challenges of the digital era demand instructional innovations that are not only pedagogically effective but also philosophically robust. This study aimed to analyze learning innovations in Akidah Akhlak at SDIT Sahabat Gondangrejo Karanganyar from the perspective of Islamic philosophy by examining the ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed, with data collected through classroom observations, interviews with the principal and teachers, and document analysis. The findings show that, ontologically, Akidah Akhlak learning is understood as a process of instilling faith and moral values derived from divine revelation and human fitrah; epistemologically, instructional innovation integrates naqli and ‘aqli sources of knowledge through active and collaborative methods and the use of technology-based media; and axiologically, learning is oriented toward the formation of Islamic character, the strengthening of moral values, and the implementation of noble conduct in students’ daily lives. This study contributes to reinforcing the philosophical foundations of innovation in Akidah Akhlak instruction and offers recommendations for developing Islamic Religious Education that is more relevant to the context of contemporary Islamic elementary education.
