Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in driving national economic growth and are the main pillars of the community's economy. However, challenges in the digital era require MSMEs to adapt quickly, especially in marketing aspects, which are increasingly shifting to the digital realm. This community service activity discussed strategies for strengthening MSME performance through marketing digitalization and optimizing social media as a means of promotion and interaction with consumers. The activity was held in Klangon Village, Bojonegoro District, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java. The method used in this activity was a qualitative descriptive approach combined with a literature study related to the use of digital technology to support MSME marketing strategies. The identification results showed that the use of digital platforms such as social media, marketplaces, and business websites can have a significant impact on increasing product visibility, marketing efficiency, and expanding market reach, both locally, regionally, and nationally. Optimizing social media not only functions as a promotional tool but also builds more intensive interactions with consumers. Through the presentation of relevant, creative, and interactive content, MSMEs are able to increase customer engagement and strengthen brand loyalty. The findings of this activity confirm that digital marketing integrated with digital communication strategies can strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs amidst increasingly fierce market competition. However, challenges remain, including limited digital literacy, a lack of technical skills, and a lack of understanding of effective digital marketing strategies among MSMEs. Therefore, ongoing efforts are needed to improve digital literacy, provide technical training, provide intensive mentoring, and provide policy support from the government and relevant stakeholders.

Abstract

This community service activity is part of the Regular Community Service Program (KKN) held in Lancong Village, Sungai Mas District, West Aceh Regency. The focus of this activity is to increase elementary school students' awareness of the dangers of bullying, strengthen clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS), and develop creativity in the learning process. The background of this activity is based on the still low understanding of some students about the negative impacts of bullying, lack of habits of maintaining personal hygiene, and limited channels for expressing creative ideas in schools. The activity was carried out at Lancong Public Elementary School involving students in grades 4 to 6 through an interactive educational approach. The methods used included informative presentations, educational games, group discussions, and creative practice in the form of making thematic posters. The session on bullying was aimed at providing an understanding of the forms of bullying, its impact on victims and the school environment, as well as prevention and handling strategies. PHBS material was delivered through demonstrations of how to wash hands properly, maintain a clean classroom environment, and the implementation of a healthy lifestyle every day. In the creativity development section, students were invited to express anti-bullying and PHBS messages through posters that were then presented in front of their peers. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of the importance of mutual respect, avoiding bullying, and practicing healthy lifestyles. Furthermore, students' skills in expressing ideas creatively also developed, as seen from the enthusiasm and quality of the posters produced. This program has had a positive impact on shaping positive attitudes and habits in the school environment, while also serving as a model for educational activities that can be implemented in other schools. Thus, this activity contributes to the holistic development of students' character, encompassing social, health, and creativity aspects.

Abstract

The Community Service Lecture (KPPM) held in Parparean Village, Porsea District, aimed to increase local economic potential through the development of banana processing with the implementation of creative marketing strategies. The background of this activity is based on the community's still low ability to process and market bananas optimally. Limited skills, lack of adequate equipment, and limited market access are the main obstacles, so that banana harvests are often sold in their raw form with low sales value. To address these problems, this community service activity carries a collaborative approach by involving community groups, especially housewives and village youth, in an entrepreneurship training program. The methods used include socialization of business potential, training in processing bananas into various value-added products such as chips, banana nuggets, brownies, and other innovative products, as well as direct product manufacturing practice. In addition, participants were also given training in marketing strategies, including branding techniques, product photography, promotion through social media, and the use of digital marketplaces as a means of expanding marketing reach. The activity lasted for five days, combining theory, practice, and intensive mentoring. The findings of the activity showed a significant increase in the community's product processing and marketing skills. Diversification of banana-based products has successfully increased market interest, while digital marketing has proven effective in reaching a wider consumer base, including the tourist market around Lake Toba. The implications of this initiative confirm that innovation, empowering local groups, and utilizing digital technology can strengthen product competitiveness and drive sustainable village economic growth through superior processed banana commodities.

Abstract

The use of inorganic pesticides to control pests and diseases in oil palm plants remains the primary choice for most farmers. However, the continuous use of chemical pesticides in large quantities can have negative impacts, both on human health and environmental sustainability. Based on these problems, a Community Service (PKM) program was conducted in Pekan Sawah Village, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency, which aims to empower the community through waste utilization and environmental management to achieve sustainable agriculture. The main activities of this program include the production of natural biopesticides based on bandotan leaves (Ageratum conyzoides), as well as the utilization of agricultural waste such as corn cobs and oil palm fronds into environmentally friendly briquettes. Through this activity, farmers are equipped with knowledge and practical skills to reduce dependence on chemical pesticides and fossil-based fuels. Thus, it is hoped that farmers will be able to reduce production costs, increase efficiency, and maintain health and environmental sustainability. The PKM activity was held on July 31, 2025, at the Pekan Sawah Village Office, with a total of 35 farmers participating. Throughout the program, community enthusiasm was evident. Farmers not only actively participated in the extension sessions but also demonstrated the biopesticide and briquette-making techniques taught. This demonstrated that the innovations introduced were easy to implement and relevant to their needs. The results demonstrated that the program not only provided practical solutions to reduce the impact of inorganic pesticide use but also increased farmer awareness of waste management. Furthermore, this PKM has the potential to improve community economic and social well-being, while simultaneously encouraging the creation of a more environmentally friendly and sustainable agricultural system.

Abstract

The production of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) is a strategic effort to utilize locally available organic waste to improve soil fertility and support the sustainability of agricultural systems. Utilizing organic waste, particularly livestock waste, has significant potential to reduce farmers' dependence on chemical fertilizers, which are known to negatively impact soil ecosystems and the environment as a whole. This community service activity aims to provide residents with knowledge and practical skills regarding the process of producing liquid organic fertilizer using livestock manure as the primary raw material. The POC production process is combined with the use of effective microorganisms (EM4) in the fermentation stage, resulting in a fertilizer with a more balanced nutrient content and easy plant absorption. The activity implementation method includes counseling to provide a theoretical basis, technical training on the production stages, and live demonstrations in the field to provide residents with practical experience. The results of the activity indicate a significant increase in residents' knowledge and skills regarding liquid organic fertilizer production techniques. Furthermore, there has been a shift in public awareness about the importance of utilizing organic waste as a high-value resource. Compared with chemical fertilizers, which only provide quick results but tend to damage soil structure in the long term, POC is more environmentally friendly, improves soil quality, and is more economical because it can be produced independently using local resources. Thus, this community service activity not only increases the capacity of residents in managing waste, but also encourages the creation of environmentally friendly sustainable agricultural practices, reduces dependence on chemical fertilizers, and contributes to improving the welfare of farmers.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship training is an effective solution to foster and develop entrepreneurial character in students. This community service activity was implemented at Initial X Vocational High School in Gresik Regency, addressing the issue of students’ limited understanding of entrepreneurship principles and practices, despite some having experience assisting in family businesses. The primary objective of this program was to enhance students' motivation, broaden their entrepreneurial insights, and equip them with essential entrepreneurial skills through structured training sessions. The method of implementation included a combination of lectures, interactive discussions, question and answer sessions, hands-on practice, and intensive mentoring. The training process was divided into several stages: a pre-test to assess initial knowledge, delivery of materials, field practice to apply the concepts, and a post-test to measure the progress of the participants. The success of the program was measured by the level of participation from the partners, the activeness of the participants during the training, and the increase in knowledge and skills after the sessions. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ understanding of entrepreneurial concepts, with a noticeable growth in their entrepreneurial character. Moreover, the students showed an increase in motivation to pursue entrepreneurship and were more confident in managing and designing businesses effectively. Through this training, students developed a better grasp of business principles and practices, which will help them become more independent and capable of running their own businesses. This community service initiative not only equipped students with valuable entrepreneurial knowledge but also laid the foundation for them to pursue entrepreneurial ventures in the future, contributing to the development of a more entrepreneurial mindset among the youth in the region.

Abstract

This community service project focuses on evaluating the potential and challenges of local economic development in Raut Bosi Village, with a special emphasis on the agricultural sector, which is the primary economic driver in the village. It also explores the roles of the community, private sector, and government in supporting local economic development. By adopting a descriptive qualitative approach and utilizing SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis, data for this study was gathered through interviews, field observations, and documentation during the period of February 19–27, 2025. The findings indicate that the traditional agricultural systems, such as Marsidapari, hold significant social and ecological value. These systems contribute not only to the livelihood of the local community but also to the preservation of local identity and culture. Despite this, the agricultural sector in Raut Bosi faces a series of structural challenges, particularly in terms of access to modern agricultural technologies, reliable market access, and supportive government policies. These challenges hinder the sector’s potential to grow and become more sustainable in the long term. In light of these challenges, this project recommends a strategy that combines local wisdom with sustainable agricultural innovations. Such a strategy would involve integrating modern techniques that enhance productivity while respecting traditional farming practices. Additionally, fostering collaboration among local stakeholders—such as farmers, the private sector, and government agencies—can create a supportive ecosystem for agricultural development. The academic contribution of this community service lies in its formulation of a local economic development model that aligns with the unique characteristics of Raut Bosi. This model emphasizes the value of local culture and traditions while promoting sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum, which has been in place for over three years, emphasizes the development of students' character and competencies. One of the standout features of this curriculum is the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), designed to help students embody the values of Pancasila, such as integrity, responsibility, and environmental stewardship. As part of this project, co-curricular activities are allocated up to 30% of the learning time, allowing students to engage in meaningful, real-world applications of their education. This initiative, however, is not yet fully maximized in some schools in DKI Jakarta, despite the city's advantages in terms of educational infrastructure and resources. While Jakarta, as Indonesia's capital, boasts considerable educational potential, it also faces unique environmental challenges, including pollution and waste management issues. These challenges, however, offer opportunities for students to become involved in projects that focus on environmental sustainability, making the P5 project even more relevant. Unfortunately, many teachers in the city are still struggling to design and implement effective P5 modules, which hinders the full impact of the program. Without proper training or access to well-structured project modules, teachers often find it difficult to foster the kind of interdisciplinary and practical learning experiences that the curriculum envisions. To address these gaps, it is essential to focus on strengthening teachers’ competencies in developing and implementing P5 modules through targeted mentoring programs. These programs should include lectures on best practices, interactive discussions that allow teachers to share experiences, question-and-answer sessions to address challenges, and practical exercises in module creation. The ultimate goal is to equip teachers with the skills and knowledge necessary to design modules that incorporate local environmental issues, thus making the P5 project more relevant and impactful for students.

Abstract

The rainy season in Sukorejo Village, Semarang City, increases mosquito populations due to stagnant water, potentially transmitting diseases such as dengue fever, malaria, and chikungunya. The community still relies on chemical-based mosquito repellent lotions containing DEET, which carry risks of skin irritation, allergies, and potential toxicity. Natural ingredients such as lemongrass (Cymbopogon nardus) and pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius) contain active compounds—citronellal, geraniol, alkaloids, flavonoids, and polyphenols—that are effective as natural repellents. The purpose of this activity is to enhance the knowledge and skills of PKK women in utilizing lemongrass and pandan leaves for the production of safe, effective, and environmentally friendly herbal mosquito repellent lotion. The program was implemented in four stages: (1) health education on mosquito-borne diseases and active plant compounds, (2) training on herbal lotion production covering raw material selection, hygienic processing, formulation, and packaging, and (3) production assistance by the community service team. Methods included lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. The program improved participants’ understanding of natural repellents and their ability to independently produce herbal lotion. The lemongrass–pandan lotion produced met safety standards, had a pleasant aroma, and was effective in protecting against mosquito bites. This training effectively increased the capacity of PKK members, reduced dependency on commercial chemical-based products, and opened opportunities for local, small-scale businesses.
